How are saturdays these days? thinking of coming down this weekend. If it's a ghost down I'd rather not go though.

Saturdays have the high hand from 2-2 so traffic is pretty good

I just heard some exciting stuff
First of all, they are installing USB ports at every seat. Some tables already have this.
They are also updating their bravo system. Similar to mgm’s system.
They do have new carpet for the room but they are not installing it until they make a decision concerning moving to the rainmaker upstairs table games area which would lower the amount of tables to 60

What is the rake structure at FW? Can't seem to find any up to date info about this on their site or elsewhere on the interwebs.

Thanks

Should have never moved downstairs in the first place.

I hope that will sync up their tourney clock with Bravo. Foxwoods is the only big casino in NE not having this feature. They need to get with times!

Would hate it if the moved upstairs. Love the downstairs room and layout.

Hit up the woods. Overall enjoyed it. I was really lucky to get a table with like 4 people who were extremely rec players. However, the room did seem kind of quiet. It was busy but not really saturday night busy. Also, the regs at my table were pretty miserable. If it wasn't for the recs it would have been an awful day.

I also had a weird hand come up, going to post it to best of my memory. We're on turn, I have Q7 (two pair). Me and this guy have been battling in big pots. Our table is mostly passive except for me and this guy for some reason. Anyways so on turn I have two pair and he bets. I go all in. This is where it gets weird. For some reason he pushes his hand out into no man's land. I can't remember if he actually lifted his hand off the cards or not. But, he pushes his hand past the betting line for some reason. The dealer scoops up his hand so I flip over my two pair to show him. He pauses and says "I didn't fold what happened". He starts telling the table he had a set. He says I had no all in button and that he never released his hand. Doesn't call the floor over though so I think he is full of it.

Don’t table your hand until the dealer starts pushing you the pot or tells you to show...

Personally I would never willingly show when it isn't necessary however once the dealer scoops the players cards and pushes them into the muck feel free to do what you wish without risk of not having the pot pushed to you.

Upstairs would possibly attract more casual foot traffic type players though.
At least, that's what you'd think.
Basically only regs in poker room now. That's why I won't be as frequent a guest no more.
Oh well. I'll be sure to stop by and say hi now and again.

The regs were extremely miserable and nitty. I doubt foxwoods lasts much longer. Some of regs were also commenting about Springfield and how quiet the room seemed. The reg next to me literally said, "Welp I'm gonna be here next 10 hours, I need my points". Where will these guys go when foxwoods closes their poker room?

Sounds like the monday madness events are still pretty successful though. From now on I will only come for those to play poker.

Good News.... Any time table as to when? The upstairs move has been discussed for years.

I can't imagine Foxwoods poker dies out anytime soon.
It still hosts the biggest tournaments in New England and there'll always be enough regs from the area to keep some kind of poker room going.
It's just never going to be the Mecca of New England poker again, that it was for so many years.

I never thought I'd check the bingo schedule out till now.

Anyways, according to that it's closed for a private event. So I googled that and found no hits for an event on that day.

“By the end of the year” is what was relayed. It came from a very credible source.
I know the move talk has been talked about for 5-6 years but I think they are finally realizing that they are not invincible. I think the move directly upstairs is a good idea, brighter, doesn’t feel like a dungeon, etc.

are you/others hearing that it would just be upstairs as in the tournament area? or are they looking at someplace else

I'm assuming the area adjacent to the tourney area where there are table games/baccarat area now? The only other area would be too loud on nights with bands playing at atrium bar
