Anyone ever get 5/10 or 10/20 O8 with a kill or half-kill going? Would none of the weaker players from 4/8 play in those anyway? 8/16 HORSE ran last time I went but it was a rather tough/nitty line-up.

Haha, he usually has a seat, but seems to spend most of his time "scouting." Typically he's at 2/5NL, but last time I saw him he sat at our 5/10NL table for one down, then complained when the next dealer asked for time on her first hand. "Don't you wait for the light anymore?" He then got up and left.

Havent been to foxwoods for over a year (moved to NYC) but the Myron stories are still hilarious because they are so true.

His wandering, and complaining about dealers taking time..

is myron the scummy lookin' old guy who definitely thinks hes a poker pro even though he's clearly a busto idiot.

the same guy who sits at like 40/80 LHE for one down, makes three bets, complains about some obscure dealer issue and hit and runs the table?

Ive stacked him a couple of times. But had to have some cooler situations, ie set vs. over pair, playing it sneaky as hell.

Oh and I remember (god has to be two years now) when Myron first got his fringed and beaded suede jacket, thought he was the shiznit...

Didn't have the heart to tell him he looked like a gay, half indian, cowboy, ready for Brokeback Mountain 2, "Older and Gayer"

What does this Moose/Myron guy look like? I used to go every weekend, mostly Saturdays, not sure who he is from the descriptions.

Short slender guy, gray hair, glasses with a suede jacket. Usually on 2/5. Don't get me wrong, I think he's a good guy and solid player, he's just not the happiest person you'll meet.

Speaking of Foxwoods icons, I really miss George, a big older gentlemen playing 2/5 or 1/2. He was always quite entertaining, especially when he got a stack in front of him. He's a reg. at Mohegan now.

Pretty accurate picture, + he always talks, trying to look like he knows everyone and everything about everyone, and at least once met everyone significant in this world.

I was so glad to see george at Mohegan on Thursday, he was at my table in the nightly bounty tournament there, I got All In ahead 4 hands in a row holding AA, A7, 55, and AK...winning hands 1 and 3 and losing 2 and 4....quite a rush of sick flops and runner runner to knock me out, george was knittin it up as usual

I have no idea why Moose gets known by everyone: He's not the first grey-haired solid regular to play poker everyday. Yet he was the first person I got to know when I played nl, maybe it's his mop hairdo.

I think FW has cut back on service staff who answer phones for hotel reservations...

I have called three times in the last 3 days, at different times in the day - and have yet to speak to anyone. I have put the recording on speaker phone and on two occasions waited about 20 minutes.

It may be a deliberate attempt by FW to get people to reserve using their website (but now I have to go get my Dream Card #...). Or it may be cutbacks in staff. Or both.

If anyone at FW is reading this, note that it cost you at least one visit to FW. But perhaps in the long run it is a good move as long as the discounts are just as good on the website - because I will have no problem reserving on the web.

someone at the table last night said he was on the phone for 45 min, I told him it's usually quicker to walk over to the front desk.

Yup, I called twice to confirm a reservation I made online (gotta make sure I talk to a human at some point cuz I'd be pissed if it get screwed up in the system)

First time I called I waited on hold listening to horrible music for 30+ minutes. Next time I waited just about as long and finally got thru - guy sounded kinda pissy that I was calling to confirm, but he confirmed it. It even says on the online confirmation that they can only "guarantee" the room if you talk to someone by phone.

They will guarantee you a room but cannot guarantee the room "type". This is what it says:
Quote:
Room types cannot be guaranteed when booking online.
I don't really care about the type of room since I am always getting the cheapest room possible. I have been upgraded at a 3am check-in on several occasions and it was a shame because for the 4 hours or so that I was asleep or showering it made no difference to me. The one thing I would be very upset about would be if I got stuck in a smoking room. This happened to me once at a Motel 6 (in Niantic) and now I know what it must be like to sleep in an ashtray.

Also, I tried to book a "free" room for Thursday 3/26 and it only cost me $64.

It seemed like it was 50/50 online when I tried to book a free room. If you call up and speak to someone, they are able to do it without a problem if it's an offer to you. But, seems like it's tough to call in for now :/

Do any of you play stud there? Im a 2-5 or 1-2 player at Foxwoods and recently have been sitting near some of the stud tables. The few that I watched were horrible. Im not young (40) but the idea of sitting with those geezers for a long time has put me off sitting down, but it looks like some of the bigger stud games are pretty profitable.

Ive also seen a lot more mixed games going off at higher limits - has anyone sat at them?
