was it a big guy? headphones and maybe a hat?
I remember a hat, but no headphones. Probably not the guy you're thinking. Still, gotta love people overplaying all these suited hands, eh?
Now that I've calmed down, I will admit that, combined with that flush hand, I actually made two key mistakes leading to my loss:
First was when I had 72 of clubs from BB on a board of 8542, two clubs. That's 17 outs at the most, and a guy went all in for only like $30, and I called figuring 2.5-to-1 was just about the right price. I'm not so sure anymore, especially considering he had trip 8s and I missed.
Second was when I overplayed pocket tens. This was soon after the flush hand crippled me to like $100. Flop was 976 all spades (so overpair, gutshot, and flush draw). After a blank turn, Villain checks, I check, Button bets, and Villain Hollywoods for a good five minutes, moaning and groaning and whining. Eventually, he calls. I look at my stack and figure I'm all or nothing now, I had $70-80 on a pot well over $100 and the original bet was like $25. Stupidly, I decided to shove, both called, and Mr. Hollywood shows AQ of spades and smiles like a douche.
I guess I can be blamed for buying the act, but still, Hollywooders should be shot. They're almost as annoying and lame as slowrollers. I mean, it's only freakin' 1/2, what's the point of doing that just so you can win a hundred bucks or something? You're no pro so stop pretending, you delusional phony!
God, 1/2 gets me tilted just thinking about it. I need anger management
