I just played at foxwoods on Sunday for the first time in years. What was with all the dealers wearing casual clothes/sports jerseys? Is this a normal thing, or was it like "casual sunday" or something?

Never seen that must have been some randomness.

Im pretty sure the reason there is no bottled beer is for safety reasons. They dont want some nut case who gets slowrolled to hit someone in the skull with a bottle. How bout the psycho who throws his mortgage payment in the circle on a BJ game. Dealer pulls a 7 card 21. Guys gets pissed and takes a swing at the dealer with a bottle.

In vegas the laws are much different. Security guards in vegas carry guns while security guards in CT arent allowed to touch someone if provoked unless its too protect themself. This is also the reason why you see so many guards who are old as dirt.

There is probably something in the original compact with the state and the casinos that doesnt allow bottles on the floor. Same compact that doesnt allow drinking on any of the concourses. Has to be either in a restaurant or on the gaming floor.
This argument doesn't hold water. It's a money saving ploy.

I always thought that most people would prefer draft beer. I actually think the Heineken at FW is the best around TBH.
I would love a draft beer but the size they give me is a joke. Give me 120z for christ sake.

I will be up there saturday and sunday. Doing some coaching and playing some 5/10. If anybody is around and playing and wants to say hi, drop me a PM. Might even play in a tournament if I have time.

It is a possibility. I believe I worked from 6pm to 2am. I am chubby younger guy, mid 20's, and I am lefty.
What do you normally play and what do you look like?

In terms of the jerseys...
We were told we can wear official NFL jerseys on Sundays. As a side note, I thought it was funny when one of my dealer cordinators said "If you wear a michael vick jersey be prepared to take it off if a player is offended by it."

joao,

You should wear a Tampa Bay Bucs jersey, so we* all know who you are. (*= that is us 2+2ers)

I was in the tourney from 6pm until about 9pm then playing 1/2 NL in the center section with the god awful lighting from about 9:30pm 12:30am..I was wearing blue pj pants and a full tilt flexfit hat, white hoodie....

They do the same thing with jerseys at turning stone as well I don't remember if they do it in the poker room anymore but I do know I have seen them at the table games before

I wish I could wear PJ pants to the poker room w/out looking like some homeless chick that just rolled outta bed. It's times like that I wish I had a weiner....it seems socially acceptable :P

I wish I could wear a bucs jersey for you guys, but I don't own one. I am sure you guys will see me soon. As soon as you see a fat kid jumping into the dealer chair check out the name tag, I can assure you I am the only one named Joao in the entire place.

I am not sure if I am allowed to post this on here or not, as I have already ben edited for material that I guess was considered solicitation in this thread... but I have created a blog, that I hope to write on semi-regularly about my experiences dealing at the room.
http://foxwoodsdealer.blogspot.com

I can assure you this is in no way some sort of site to promote the room, it is mainly something that I am doing to get rid of my constant boredom. And I figure if anyone else is interested in seeing some bad writing about my dealing at a place they are familiar with, than so be it.

Joao

Any suggestions on a hotel near foxwoods for a saturday night, the 26th? Going with a friend, we just need a place to pass out for a few hours before heading back...Also would buy a room from someone who grabs it with comp points. Not partying so wouldnt be an issue.

closest would prob be Bellisimo Grand - depending on your status at foxwoods and how you go about getting the room it can be really cheap -

I can't for the life of me get a Red Bull there. Last weekend someone at my table reached into his hoodie and pulled out a 24 oz Arnold Palmer when he was told no Red Bull, was pretty funny.

Anyone doing any of the Acts? I'm thinking of doing a couple $65 ones this weekend, would like to hear some thoughts and tips on them.

What's the "proper" way to go about getting the best rate at the Bellisimo Grand?

Thanks.

I've never done one myself, but like you I was thinking of entering a few this weekend. A few of them, especially the 65$ ones, seem like the type of format that is non-stop all in's.

first quesiton: go to bellisimo, they are really nice there, the rooms are a good value and they aren't expensive. (dont know much about "going about" a better deal though)
PS ask for one with a temperpedic bed if they still have them, they rule!

as for the ACTS, dont play the 65 dollar ones, waste of time...play the 250 single tables instead, the competition is just as weak, i entered 3 last year and placed top 2 twice, with a 4th in one..and I really didnt even run above average.....if you have the roll for the 250's play those instead....unfortunately I'm 0/6 lifetime in ACT3's

Unfortunately, I don't think I have the roll for the $250s. I got only a couple grand and could probably do one, but I'm trying to stick with cheaper games since poker hasn't been too good for me this year.

Part of me thinks I'd be better off doing at most 3 of the $65s for a total of $195. That'll save at least $55 if I manage top two in just one of them. Of course, the game's a real crapshoot at 15 minute blinds and 2000 stacks.

Bit of a tough decision. Thanks for the input though

I thought ahead and had a cooler in my trunk with Palmers (less sugar ones) and Sprite zero. I brought a palmer to the card room too. Hey I like to drink what I like to drink. Originally they were for the hotel but once I saw my drink options in the card room screw it. I am sitting at a card table for 8 hours I sure don't want no little cup of beer. It's BS

Yea the lighting is kind of crappy at FW, which is why I love MS much more.

what's up with the lack of 2-5 action at the woods the last couple days... I'm wondering if it's cuz Mohegan sun is giving 3 an hour for 2-5 I'm prob gonna head over there the sun had 4 full games with lists

Is it true the woods is lowering and taking awaysome of the comps/points I was getting 15 and got brought down to 10
