Hi guys, i'm thinking about making a day trip to foxwoods and playing some 2/5nl. How are the games there? Also, some general questions- what are the best places to eat there, how much do you have to play to get comped meals? How does parking work...is that also comped? Any other things that a first-timer should check out/look for?

Hey buddy,

I'd describe the 2/5 NL (of course depending on your table) as loose, aggressive and quite a bit of straddling going on. However, there are some table(especially ones that open up in the morning) that play like a rock garden. My opinion of the game has always been that of kinda crazy loose game with 4-5 to a flop with a PF raise of 20-25. There are plenty of tables though, so if it doesn't suit your style just request a change.

1/2 is relatively easy with a TAG style IMO, hard to bluff in that game.....

the food court right by the poker room is acceptible for something quick like a bfast sandwhich or a slice of pizza. stuff is edible not cheap of course. I actually prefer to go upstairs to the hard rock and sit at the bar to chill for a bit and have a decent burger.

Sit and go's are fun but the VIG is too high. like the 100+20...dont really think a 20% rake is beatable long term but if you are just fing around why not. the morning 120 tourneys are donkaments...fun but don't expect much in the way of play or structure. if you are gonna play tourney give the 340 on sunday a try, i like that one...usually like 80 runners...good structure and plays a bit better.

Hope this helps

As far as parking, Rain Maker valet or garage is closest to the poker room. Parking is free, obviously take care of the valet guy if you go that route.

For food, above poster is correct, except I feel the Stadium Grill has better food and I will say it is way cleaner as well.

I forget what 2/5 comps, I know 1/2 gets you 1.5 points per hour.

2/5 is the same, 1.5 per hour.

Get the card and you sign in at the table. The points will be credited by an hour or two after you play. You get 1.50 an hour for 1/2 and 2/5

So last night I played 5/10 for 3.5 hours waiting to get called. THey call me for 10/20 when I am in the sb. I played my sb and button, went for a quick mensroom, walk the 50' to the 10/20 and it had broke. I've seen full games empty out quickly but that's a first.

Heading down to FW for the first time in about a year in a couple of weeks. What sort of PLO or PLO/8 limits typically run on a Saturday morning, if any?

There was a 1/2 PLO last night on table 1, but unless you mean really early in the morning, there probably won't be any PLO games until later. You may want to start the list of interest when you get there to get the ball rolling.

I have a boxed card comment/question and don't feel like creating a thread. Do you know it takes 5 boxed cards for it to be a misdeal at FW. That is crazy. Does any body know the standard rule at other casinos, I have been told 2 is about normal, but 5? You can have 4 boxed cards, that just go right in the muck, and play just goes on...seems like a lot.

At Mohegan, it is three boxed cards for a misdeal.

Going to be there from around 7AM, but I'm meeting a non-poker playing friend around noon. I'll probably start the list, but more likely than not, it'll be other people that benefit from it eventually.

hmmm... wtf?

I played last night starting at 8.... went to put my name on interest list on 1/2 omaha and it was just me and one other person. So i went to play 1/2 nl instead to waste some time.... was +450 after about 3 hours, so i got up to see how the omaha list was going and it was up to 5, but nothing going on yet so i went to play in the last 120 sng of the night. Got sucked out on the river of a big pot, eventually pretty much blinded out and came in 6th or 7th.
I then went to the table, and asked if any 1/2 omaha tables were being played, since there was an interest list of 6. He says no.,.. its not running.... i haven't seen any omaha lists all night....This was around 130 AM.... wtf.... what time was this omaha table running?

How are you guys redeeming your points? do you actually go to foxwoods and buy whatever it is you are looking for? I tried going to dreamrewardsgallery.com but not only can I not log onto there to see, but I don't see any of the S&S gift cards that you guys talked about. If i click on the 'balance' option in the top right corner, its a broken link, i can only see my balance by directly logging onto foxwoods.com.

Can you still order stuff online? or do i have to go directly to foxwoods?

Im specifically interested in the S&S Giftcards.

yeah I saw BOING on the interest list when I first got there, and he was still on the interest list at 3:30 when I left.

There was a 4/8 Omaha hi/lo game going on all night though.... i think maybe thats what you heard?

I am seconding this.

Was leaving after a marathon session at 5:30 this afternoon and ran into a couple of 5/10 players who informed me the one and only game had just broke. Quite sad.

24 hours of 20/40 and if you include wampum I managed to break even. Time well spent.

Also heard this gem of a comment from a drunkard outside smoking a cig " 2/4 limit holdem is a sure thing, if you only play good cards it is impossible to lose" Luckily I was not directly involved in the conversation so I did not have to argue about beating that rake structure + toke over the long term.

I only know 1 player good enough to beat that but me thinks he just runs good as he can't beat 4/8. You know who you are.
