I was at foxwoods last night

flopped top set after a heavy pre-flop raise w/ AA on a A-9-4 board

got it all in on the flop, villain hit running spades w/ A/K(s) to stack me on my first hand after dinner

not looking for sympathy... just wondering if any 2+2'ers were at the table (it was primarily younger players)

1-5 stud was another cake walk with the Glenlivet crowd. Quad fives actually held up - yay me! I will have to move up to 5-10 one of these days.

Asian bus driver said Smokey Robinson dropped several thousand dollars rather quickly at a "high risk" table, which one I don't know. I guess he's there early?

yea I heard he was lurking around the casino. 20/40 stud game best in the house

I saw 5 or 6 names on a waiting list for 150/300 S.H.O.E. Yesterday. Anyone know if it ever made it and did any of you play in it?

believe the only game was 75/150 O.E. I was playing in a 20/40 must move right next to it. It looked like a good game.

Both casinos use a rake now rather then time charge. 10% up to $4.

Over 3 years of playing the 1-2 game for about 35 hrs a week; I can confidently say my hourly rate was about $25-30 an hour. The funny thing was when I made the move up to 2-5 my hourly rate changed to about $28-35. Not a huge change.

I know that these rates cannot be sustained these days with the games being so weak. I have many friends who still put in lots of hours in the 2-5 game at Mohegan and they are consistantly sustaining a $35 hourly rate.

What? "I know that these rates cannot be sustained these days with the games being so weak."

If the games are so weak, a good player should be able to sustain a good hourly rate, imho.

Seems ridiculous you would have a 5 hour wait for your game. Was no one leaving or was there a decent list but only one table?

I used to be a 10/20 limit regular about 2 years ago. I took a long break until a few weeks ago. Working and whatnot.

Back then the 10/20 was a usually a bit of a nitfest. I used to score a small profit there. Not enough loose money hitting the table. The 5/10 was even worse. I always hated that game. The poorer idiots played 2/4 or 4/8 and the better off played 10/20 or 20/40. None of them chose the 5/10.

I was there on Friday night playing 1/2NL. Pretty boring night. Most opponents were fairly tight and knowledgeable. Not what you're hoping for.

I was card dead the first couple of hours and lost $50 or so entering pots that went nowhere. Boosted up to $225 profit on the next table, mostly from good PF cards and hitting the flop. There was a ton of money hitting the table from a steamer but I couldn't get into any of the right hands. Three guys worked up $600+ stacks.

I took a break and considered heading home a little richer. Instead I hopped back on the table. I ended up dumping all my profits in two big hands. Easy come - easy go.

The first, I had AKs and got ATo all in on the turn w/ an A high flop. I could just tell he had a worse A and the hand went perfectly. Sadly, he hit that ten on the river. He left a few minutes later while I had a smoke. Bastard!

The second hand I was dumb and I got JJ all in preflop against QQ. I should have known the guy had it and laid it down but I was up past 24 hours at that point and still numb over losing the AK hand.

Ended up going home minus $25 for pizza and gas. Better luck next time
Good story. Im headung there in an hour for a 15+ hour session, i hope it ends up on a better note. I will post results, so you will have a .25nl reg's perspective of the game.

A table of weak tight players aren't going to put much money in the pot which cuts off your hourly potential.
