My first Post!!

Have been doing a lot of reading on here, so thanks for all the info!

I live bout 35 min away and hit up foxwoods about 2 -3 times a month id say, so I have some experience on this one. I personally like to play the sit-n-gos as I prefer tournament style myself. Last time I was up there I was there about 8 hours and played 5 of them, cashing for like 500 at the end of it all... they are 120 buy in, 10 people, pay 500,300,200....

the play really varies in these as I have sat with people who play awesome, as well as many more people who really shouldnt even be sitting there...

They also have a scheduled tournaments which are advertised on their website.... I played in a turbo one on time (65 buyin i think..) and got knocked out after about and hour and a half (blinds move quick and u really need to pick up some pots early on i think...)

then i played in the 120buy in mtt, which was much better imo.... much bigger starting stack.... there was 131 people in it and i got 14th place (payed til 16) for 222 bucks....which was a real PITA for 100 bucks....you really need to get like top 5 in those things to get any cash....

Also they have the acts going on for the WPT which is in april i think? They are usually slow right now, but like 2 weeks before the big game they start going off very quickly.... I plan on playing some of these, but will wait a few more weeks so I don't have to wait for an hour for one to start up.....

I dont stay there as i live real close as i said, so I dont have any info on rooms...but I ALWAYS use rainmaker valet, very quick walk to the poker room.....

Also, the 5th street cafe in the poker room is pretty freakin awesome.... they grill up ur food right in front of you and its not ridiculously expensive.... good pizza....they have egg sandwiches all day....bangin steak and cheese......

I know i cashed in an act 1 for my act 2 spot in november...and they gave me a 5 dollar coupon for the 5th street cafe, so im assuming they give those things away all the time..... which is a sweet deal...

After typing this i think i just got the motivation to shoot up on sat i think..... its been a few weeks....

I'll be there tomorrow afternoon (Friday), until Saturday afternoon. If one of you guys are at my table and I do something really stupid I hope you won't admonish me on here. Although a pm with serious commentary would be appreciated.

Whhooohooo...staying over for the first time. I was thinking of parking in the Rain Maker garage so that it's the shortest distance when I leave. I'm planning on taking my bag with me to the table if I get there way too early for check-in. Then taking a short break to get my room when I can. Then doing things in reverse when I check-out. Anyone see anything wrong in my thinking?
Sounds like a plan

We'll have to arrange a 2p2'rs Shrine get-together at some point, and order as much sushi as possible. Every type of maki on the menu.

Not too much more, I think maybe 7$, not bad for lunch, espec if you get a meal comp.

I had failed at about 5 places. Fuddruckers was well cooked but the meat required a lot of condiment.

Fudruckers burger is def over rated. Milkshakes are pretty good though.

Since we started to talk about food one of the best meals at Foxwoods is the wood grilled lobster at Paragon ($55). Plus if you go there, eat at the bar as the two bartenders are very social and give their honest recommendations about the menu. Take my girlfriend there a lot and haven't had a bad experience yet.

I am likely going to be around Foxwoods for the first time in several years Sunday March 1st. I usually don't travel on weekends. I hate lines and crowds.
It looks like a $120 tourney at 9am. Does it ever fill up? I would hate to have to get there at some ungodly hour to register.
It looks like another $120 at 6pm. How many entrants usually? Duration?

Any suggestions on Sunday night rooms. On site.

Thanks for any help

You can't predict the crowd but don't worry, you can still get a seat if you are there at 8:00.

Hey Deadmoney, a little off topic question. Are you referring to the age of Aquarius in your "location"?

I wrote it on inauguration day; to refer to the impending new season of Lost.

Since I was banned from the Lost thread in OOT by a mod on a power trip I guess it's time for another change .

Crises Crises

Foxwoods wampum store said it might be two more months before they get more gift cards in. This effectively slashes our rakeback because there are no other places where you can get such a clean 3:2 exchange on points for $s. Free gasoline and groceries are what keeps me afloat during that bad periods.

DMW - I didn't know about the availability of gift cards, I only knew about the gas cards which were something ridiculous like 100 points for $25 gas card? The gift cards can be used outside of FW?

Also, I'll be there this afternoon thru late tonite playing 4-8 with Jaran and Anfernee.

Where can I find more info on Wampum Points? I've only played at the woods 3 times now and have like 25 points or something petty like that, but I couldn't find anywhere on the site that gives info.

I believe gas cards are 80 pts for $50... 62 cents on your dollar
Also note. If your looking to turn wampum pts into cash. The most profitable is to save your points up, then go over to the Apple store and buy any item and put it on E-bay. The prices in the apple store has to be the same as any other Apple store. You'll get at least 80 cents on your dollar. Also, for you fellow degenerates, if you put 35 hrs in on any 7 day period, you can get a $10 food voucher from the floor.

Holy sh*t! TY, was planning on asking floor about pt's and any type of comps. I know they don't comp us poker players so much, so wasn't expecting such a good system.

Also, I just got done reading Steve Cyr's "Whale Hunt in the Dessert" - awesome book if anyone is looking for a good informative and entertaining read about Las Vegas and gambling in general. Check out the 2p2 Poker Cast interview w/ him if you haven't yet, I think it's episode 55 (w/ Ashton Griffin).

Question is: does Foxwoods/MGM have any VIP suites not listed on their web-site / not available for petty gamblers? Obv MGM has the director suites, but I want to know if those are the best on site.

And does Cyr have any connection to FW? Has anyone met up with a FW casino host?

I forgot to mention also, on the 1/2 and 2/5 tables, we get 1.5 pts an hr. But if your able to play a total of 500 hrs AND (not in) 75 days with-in a years period, you receive a black card which gives you 3 pts an hr and access to the poker lobby upstairs. They check monthly so you'll receive it when it is reached..not after a year period.

p.s. the poker room has no host.

Love this thread btw

+Reed - you know anything about what I wrote above?
