I've been playing at the 4-8 LHE level occasionally for the past month or so. I'm wondering if anyone can describe how much more advanced the players are at 5-10, and 10-20? How much bigger is the jump from 4-8 to 5-10, and 5-10 to 10-20, compared with 2-4 to 4-8. Thank you.

We had another problem on the 5/10 last night regarding chopping with the kill button. I have heard yes from certain floor/dealers, and no from other floor/dealers. I know the real mptc rule is no. actually the real letter of the law is no chopping at all. The argument for the kill chop is always "it's a forced blind, so you can chop". It is pretty standard to chop it it at FW, and most dealers/floor allow it. I could care less, I usually want to play the 10/20 hand. My question is do other casinos with kill games allow it?

Also, I broke the 5/10 game at 8:30 last night, and there was only one 10/20 and it was short. Both these games have died mid-week. used to be at least two of each, all the time. There were a bunch of 20/40, and a 40/80 though.

I get monthly coupons worth 5 points a week and use them at booth when I first arrive but I don't remember getting any for a 2nd time in same week.
If you forget your coupon you can still get whatever your allowed too
but i never heard of getting extra comps for just signing in a booth. Am I missing somthing?

That is very encouraging to hear there are a "bunch" of 20 and 40 games going. Is this happening every day? I am coming in tomorrow and staying through Monday morning. Will there be action on Sunday too?

I am sure there are a lot of us from worc. county but never meet up, go weekend nights sat into sun morning or sun morning to early sun afternoon,
only time for now I can go for now.
Last year with the hi gas costs was looking for players to split gas costs with no luck.
Started to take bus from worc. was cheaper with the comps and no wear and tear on auto too.
I play 10/20 LHM for about a year now up from 4/8 5/10 with mixed results but have been killing it for $40 per hr so far this year, may try 20/40 soon too.
Later.

If your a winning player at 4-8 you won't find 5-10 with kill to much different (but game can get wild when players want action and bet to get pot over $100 to keep 10-20 hands going).
At 10-20 you start to see better players and the higher limit players come down to 10-20 to feed from time to time, but won't go to 2-4.4-8.
I am still new at 10-20 only a year now with about 300 hrs. so others with lots more exp. will have more to say, good luck.

Looking forward to another trip this weekend, love it when the tournament is in town, action galore.

I remember last year some young dude (early 20s) at another 1/2 table a few tables across from my table started yelling and screaming about a bad beat. Then he started moaning and groaning for the next ten minutes. I remember looking around wondering, "are we on tv?" Maybe he was just hoping to get on tv or something.

WPT TIME!

Get on my left, I have lost during every WPT season except Nov 06. It may have something to do with the games being full of out-of-towners.

A bunch 2+2ers (6 or so) are coming down from Thursday-Tuesday. Might get a 2/4 HORSE game going or maybe some 1/2 PLO in between some of those days (hopefully). Anyone interested in either/or? Maybe even a 1/2 PLO/1/2 NL game that switches every dealer?

Yes they do spread that if you ask, if the floor guy/gal thats on that day isn't a nit at least.

If Im there when you are ill join the PLO, but 2/4 HORSE would mean I have to touch the yellow chips. Would you consider 5-10?

What's the 1/2 NL action like during tournament being held ? I've never played cash games during a tournament before but am thinking only good thoughts about it ! Curious about the wait time for a table mid week during the day as well . thanks in advance

I thought there would be a huge influx of new players in the LHE games so I managed to swing a trip and play in the WPT limit event and also in the cash games Monday and Tuesday evenings (the latter was achieved by exceptionally poor luck coupled with a complete lack of interest in winning because I had obligations on Wednesday and didn't realize the tournaments generally conclude the following day at noon. Read the fine print people!!! Also I suck at the poker)

Interestingly I saw very few new players in the 20/40 and 40/80 games. Maybe other people could comment on the 10/20, 5/10, and 4/8 and below games.
