$99 is cash money for a room at the peq, Obv be better if you were getting it for free but :-D I heard MGM was nice but isn't the grand pequot the most baller section/hotel of the whole casino? Restaurant/public high roller section on the 23ish floor, etc.

MGM is just a little nicer because it is newer. Pequot rooms are bigger, location is better for poker.

I've got the End Suite a couple times at the Pequot, one time with the balcony door left open. That room is pretty ridiculous. And the VIP reception is tight also. But yea $99 on a friday is tight.

I've got $39 for TT, $69 for MGM/Cedar and $79 for Pequot

On all prices, don't forget to add 12% tax and $7.50 resort fee (no fee at TT though).

Those are the usual prices I get when I don't have them for free

I agree. I have no idea why it's so low, I've been a good boy all year. Last year I was Platinum, so maybe they're just trying to entice me back to my old ways.

I'm cheap as well, but mostly I get tired of waiting around for those tiny drinks. It works better if you get the coffee cup so the bottom of the cup doesn't wear out after 6+ hours of re-fills. Self-made iced coffee is not bad either.

I was at 2/5 all night but I saw the drama going on at the 5/10 table, and went over to check it out.

I just got $69/night for two nights next week at Pequot over the phone. Not a bad rate, but free would have been better. Next time I'm there, I'm going to discuss this with a host and see what I can get.
On the positive side, I'm hoping that the lack of free rooms will tilt the ratio of reg's to tourists downward a bit. We'll see.

I'll be there late tomorrow night taking advantage of the last week of free rooms. I doubt I'll find anything better than the standard summer price range since I've never reached the "elite" status...but I'll ask around and update when I get back.

One Dream-booth host mentioned that July and Aug rooms were filling up fast and therefore they had to scale way back on comp rooms. If this is truly the case, then we should see a juicy influx...I'll believe when it happens though.

Anyone go to AC semi-regularly, and get solid room deals? I'm thinking about making a few Borgata trips this summer. In the past I stayed at Trop for the $39 poker rate and bounced around at some of the boardwalk casinos. But I feel more degenish in some of those places. On the brighter side, Borgata is a step above for game selection and quality.

I've been sucked in to the FW comps and free rooms for the last couple of years even though I'm equidistant from both.

They now match the security at MGM. As of now security strictly works at one or the other but now that will change. My guess is now that the union is in MGM, within the next year you will see the dealer uniforms at FW match the ones at MGM. Everyone will be working at both places soon.

By the way the CEO resigned today.

Hey FW regulars, I am a lagtard fish in Florida thinking of taking a 3-5 day vaca in New England early to mid July and Foxwoods would be a big part of the plan. I want to stay on property (meaning walking distance to poker). If I wanted to stay there 3 nights, say Wed-Fri, what's the best approach to decent accomodations for, say, $150 a night?

Doable at FW for that? With some minimal comp earnings?

I saw the Legends in Concert holiday show last year, it was great even though some of it wasn't really my kinnda music. I met the Michael Jackson impersonator last summer, too, and he was a hella cool dude.

Cedars hotel is the closest to the poker room and it is pretty good. Pequot is next and it won a 4-diamond award. Great place to stay. MGM is like a mile walk (lol) and Two Trees is kinnda ghetto and you gotta take a shuttle, but it is (for obvious reasons) the least expensive. You can sign up on line for the Dream Card. Earn points while you play and you can use them towards your room charge.
