I just stayed at Two Trees for my first time. It's more than "across the street", but I found the shuttle to be very convenient. I was planning to drive when the shuttle bus pulled up right in front of me as I was walking along the sidewalk to my car, so I took it. The wait for the return trip wasn't much longer. The shuttle apparently just loops endlessly from the Two Trees to the Rainmaker Casino with no other stops. It was actually quicker than the walk to the MGM. The driver was also friendly, trying to lighten the mood, ala Disneyworld.
The Two Trees has the least nice rooms of all the Foxwoods hotels (which I would rate: 1. MGM 2. Grand Pequot 3. Great Cedar 4. Two Trees). The rooms are alright, but smaller and the bathroom appears older (and no refrigerator in the rooms - at least that I could find). Definitely works as a place to crash though.
Especially since there was no refrigerator in my room, I was surprised that they still charge for the bottled water in the rooms at Two Trees (2 free bottles seems to be a special at the other hotels now).
I've heard some of the older players rave about the food at the Two Trees Grill. I only had coffee and dessert. I wouldn't exactly rave about the dessert, but the coffee was the best I've had anywhere at Foxwoods.
