IME, most other US rooms are 9-handed for PLO, and I think most of us who've played both would prefer 9-handed; but a lot of the reg's here would prefer to stick with 10, because that's what they're used to, and apparently also because they're terrified of the game getting "short" because people walk around (and the rules on this are not enforced).... We'll see....

I was told by a floor who I trust that 9 handed plo is leading the vote by a wide margin. There were some 10's, but I was told there are many more 9's at this point as they've been polling for a while now.
I've been pushing for them to do 9 for the past few months. Just a better game. More cards left in the deck to draw to, more hands seen, more room to sit. Also they get more rake since more games pop up and more hands are dealt so it's a no brainer for them too. 5/10 and higher plo is already 9 handed and the difference is night and day in terms of action.
And as you said, it's literally 9 handed everywhere else. I specifically brought up to mgmt that NH card rooms are really, really causing a dent in our game. We are down to 1 game a day on average (2 on Saturdays) while they have 3 - 4 often. Them being 9 handed and us being 10 is a glaring difference and I've actually talked to people who don't come here regularly because we are 10 handed.
Of course there are old regs who just don't know how much better 9 is because they have never played anywhere else. One of my good friends who is a an old fogey voted 10 and used the 'if it ain't broke don't fix it' argument. They just don't know. I myself didn't realize how much better 9 handed was until i started going to Vegas a couple times a year.
Foxwoods in general is going downhill fast and that isn't a secret. 9 handed plo certainly won't solve the mass exodous of players they are just starting to experience and will surely get worse with more casinos opening soon. But at this point anything that can make the games better should be welcome with opened arms.
