At least some higher up shmuck realizes they're done and is trying to turn into an amusement park with shopping for a reason to go out there after mass casinos open up..

Check in girls deliver bags to the room
No ice or beverage in the machines
Dire need of carpet and tile repair
Too many others to list

Wait one more...25 years later and the cleaning ladies still don't know what a door stop is
Ugh

The Kobe burger is amazing. Just make sure you don't forget to add cheese at an additional $2 or something.

Wednesday is actually one of the two nights they close early (midnight on Mon, 2am on Wed). They stay open until 6am on Tuesday, Thurs, Fri, Sat, and Sunday.

Yeah I actually don't think Wynn will have much impact on the FW poker scene. The NH rooms have already scooped up most of those people that would choose Wynn over FW for traffic/geographic reasons.

This is what I said here a few months ago and was quick to receive criticism. Do these people realize that Twin River and NH have already affected those from that region? I don't see any CT players regularly driving 2 hours plus with traffic to go to Wynn or spending a Fri/Sat night driving all that way.

I think they may see a hit from central CT customers. I live just south of Hartford and plan on going to Springfield when it opens. It will only save 10 or so minutes but if the poker room is good action i will continue to go there. I imagine people that live between New Haven and Hartford (most of CT residents imo) will at least check out Springfield and see which one they like more.

I think that most CT and RI players will probably stick with FW (or have already migrated to TR), but I also think that lot more FW customers come from E. Mass. than from RI or CT. (Just based on population numbers; also on some data FW published a few years ago which indicated that Mass. players alone represented >25% of its customer base) (and this did not include NH or S. Maine players, who obviously will find it easier to play in Boston than at FW.)
Traffic factor around Boston will definitely be an issue, but I think that the casino and gov. have plans to ease this. (Good luck!) In any case, traffic will be much less of a problem for anyone able to go to/from Everett at non-rush hours. (I already have my routes and times planned.)
I think that Springfield will have some impact, but that Wynn will pull away a lot more, perhaps up to 20% of FW's overall traffic. But we'll see (in 18 months or so)....

No problem with using the phone on the rail, as long as the phone is in your hand, and you are not in a hand.

But, the last part is a big PIA, as phone constantly falls onto the floor.

Foxwoods Poker Waitlist messaging app does not work with my phone service. Does anyone have any knowledge in this area? I have a Google PixelXL which runs under the Google Project Fi as the Service Provider (great phone and great service at very low rates by the way… highly recommend for Android). Google Project Fi partners with Sprint, T-Mobile, and US Cellular to provide service.

The sign up desk asks what phone service is used for the message app. I told them Google Project Fi, but they don’t have Project Fi listed as an option. They tried Sprint, T-Mobile, and US Cellular, as well as many others, but they could not send me a test message.

Does anyone know anything about the poker room messaging app or who I can contact at Foxwoods to escalate this issue? I know: LOL

I'm in Fairfield and I'll be checking it out. On a good day FW is at least 80/90 mins and I can't see Springfield being that much more to be honest especially when Hew Haven is bad.

They are going to lose a big chunk of their customers and they have no way of really making up for it. I'm sure they'll stay open for some time, but the poker scene isn't going to be the same and it has already been in decline over the last 6 years or so.

It also depends on how good the poker scene is at the Wynn. If its anything like FW used to be, I think folks from many parts of CT will make the trek to Boston, just like folks in all parts of NE have been going to FW for years. One important factor will be the availability of decent lodgings at non-exorbitant prices near the casino (unless, of course the Wynn decides to treat poker players decently). If there's nowhere to stay reasonably, then I agree, folks will not be coming from far except for very special occasions.

If you look on Bravo, the announcement is OFFICIAL.

The BBJ is back as of 1.1.18. Same qualifier for Holdem but Stud will NOW have quad 8s as a qualifier.

The real question now is are they going to be taking another $1 drop to fund both the HH and BBJ? 5+2 is becoming the industry norm.....not up here yet but all of FL and many other places.

Just to let you know....they have changed the phone rule....again. Now phones can be on the rail, but not of the table. Dealer told me this happened yesterday...

Also did hear that the BBJ will be back....heard they were seeding 3G to start. Did not hear about the drop though....

Edit: Add about BBJ and horrible spelling

I hope not.

is it currently only $1 during the monday craziness or also on the tue/fri/sat HH frenzy?

What gets me is the the BBJ in Holdem will start at 3k while Stud will start at 1200.

Here are a few questions to wonder:

1. Why is Holdem so low?
2. Why is Stud so high?
3. Where did this money come from? If I'm wrong, wasn't the starting amounts $10k and $500 respectfully?

last time I used it about a month ago they asked me what service.
I'm Verizon so may not be an issue but the player in front of me said sprint.
so I would start with the sign in desk then ask up on the chain of command if the answer is less than satisfactory.
good luck

This 100%

FW plan will be to dump a bunch of comps on us 3 months out from Wynn opening, but it will be too late. Also these will probably just be things they took away. Their only shot would be giving us free weekend rooms, which I don't see them doing. Even if they did, it'd likely be too late.

Too much mismanagement. Too many great things we had are gone or vastly diminished. Many regs are just counting down the days to Wynn opening. I'm going to hate the trek, but the action will be worth it.

As for the phones, I still hold that against them. Colossal mistake that never should've been put in place. The way they acted towards the players over those two weeks was shameful.

Foxwoods was covered in second hand smoke. I remember I would only play in the poker room but my clothes would reek of smoke because of smoking room upstairs. Hopefully Wynn won't offer smoking.

Pretty sure Wynn and all other Mass casinos will be 100 % non-smoking. I wish all casinos would follow suit.
