It's not on a boat. It's in the casino on land. This SB Tribune article has a discussion on how it gets around the law. Apparently, because it's not players against the house and/or there is a specific poker carve-out is why it's allowed.

Does anyone know what the action is like in this poker room? Especially the PLO game

They had an interest list for 1-2 PLO going last night (wednesday) that was probably 6 deep so I'm sure they eventually got the table going. You might be able to call the room directly and see what action is like.

Only 3 tables going in the room, but looked like they had capacity for 16-20. The 1-2NL game was probably better than I can ever remember. Half of the table thought it was less likely to get pocket aces than other pocket pairs. Naturally, I agreed with them.

They comp at $1.50/hour according to poker host.

Bump. This is now currently the closest room to Chicago running games at the weekend, so looking at a weekend trip.

Anyone play there?

One more bump - does anyone know the buy-in limits of 1-2 and 2-5 etc?

Mason Malmouth claims 2+2 website has been sold. We will try (again) to post this under new regime: Four Winds casino near South Bend, is located in St Joseph County, Indiana which is said to be Ku Klux Klan National Headquarters. Members are active with flyers, etc in public places. So, if you are a sociologist, you may find that of some interest.

I don't understand why this is a relevant post for a poker forum. I played there last night and didn't see any difference in the player pool than any other places I have played in. No one was talking politics or religion - most comments were about the NBA game on the tube. There were people in masks but no one wearing a hood. What they need is more PLO players - everyone wants to play 1/2 NL.

Not only does Mason Malmuth claim to have sold the website, he has.

I don't know how granular you think Mason's involvement was, but I'm pretty confident he wouldn't have been especially concerned with specific posts about Indiana casinos. Also, there have been no changes made WRT moderation policy yet, and I wouldn't expect any in the short term.

I'm rather perplexed by your "again" comment - no posts have been deleted from this thread. Ever.

OK. What does that have to do with poker?

Seems like your post should be deleted (and these two replies with it), but I'll leave it to the regular forum mods to decide. Maybe there's a reason it belongs that I'm not seeing.

mod: just getting back after a weekend away. I should just delete the last few messages, but everyone seems to have handled it politely so I will leave it up for the time being. Please let's just keep it that way, or else I will just return and delete the whole mess.

Thanks.

I'm gonna be there playing all weekend from late tonight, given the fact that it's mid-2021 and how bizarre and terrible the last 18 months have been for most, I am irrationally excited to be going to a small poker room in South Bend, Indiana, for a bit.

Room was actually decent and well run, didn't have to wait for a seat and you can call in 2 hours beforehand. Play was absolutely standard 1-2 (I played 2-5 for about 30m only), and yesterday I had the classic old regs getting annoyed at me for, gasp, raising preflop (or calling preflop shoves without a top 5 hand).

I'd go back for sure. Other non-poker room casino employees not great but overall fine. Casinos really are **** places though in general, aren't they? Bleakness of walking through the pits on a Sunday afternoon.

This right here has been why I haven't returned to a casino since COVID-19. Glad to see I guess somethings are returning to normal.

Can someone provide a current schedule and rake structure for the room?

I was not impressed by this Poker Room on our nearly 3hr journey up there. This room had a large Bad Beat so we took a few of us up there to play. This was in late 2020 & this was the only Casino that was playing 7 handed instead of like everywhere else being 5 handed if not closed period...
That seemed weird at that time & because it was owned by the Potawatomi Indian Tribe it did not have to go by the same Health Regulations...
This isn't the correct Forum to expand on that hypocrisy so I will move on...

We got on the list because it's such a long drive for us. When we got there & approached the small poker room our names weren't up there on the list. Both the Floormen looked like they'd never smiled before or even falsely happy to see new players. We explained we called in because of our long drive & they said they took us all off the list. Mind you at that time there was nothing noted anywhere about a list time limit or etc. The Floor man didn't seem to appreciate we drove 3hrs to get there. He did mildly get us all fairly quick seats & we went from there. This Casino is Slots & Poker Only with NO table games. It's not great for Poker players. So we all sit down at random tables with only basic 1/3 action. I get on the 2/5 list while playing. I'm noticing on 1/3 that players are getting up on their own & moving to whatever table they feel like. So what happened was all the big stacks in 1/3 were moving to this one particular table. There was no must move or main table going so let's not go there. This crap made all the other tables more like .50c/$1 with all large stacks MIA. So I finally get moved to the only 2/5NL table...
I've seen more action at the Graveyard than what was at this 2/5 table no joke. Everyone was on their phone, there was no banter, no talking & very little action. As we all leave the Casino we throw our Players Cards away as there is no reason for us to go back. Best of Luck if you happen to go check this place out.

One time I left Four Winds South Bend at night in a horrific rain storm. Damn frightening. It's was very dark around there and storm made it very scary drive. I had arrived in daylight. That was the last time, over a year ago, that I have seen some real live cows in pastures.

I've noticed on Bravo that there has been a PLO game going at 4 Winds each of the last two Tuesdays. I called the room and asked if it was now running each Tuesday. Person I spoke to didn't know. Does anyone know anything about this? I feel a need to donate.
