So IMO there is going to be a few casinos, like the Isle and Hard Rock that will always have limit games going on.
This is exactly the situation I'm in. I can't wait till July so I'm already planning a trip to Vegas in early June to play some 10/20 - 20/40 cash games at Rio, B, and V once the series gets kickin'. Once these games get established in the Tampa market I really don't have any reason to fly out west.

I made FT in one of these tournaments just last week. Everyone was so eager to chop, I think its commonplace there. Everyone just wants the easy money, but if one person doesn't agree, then the tourney plays on. I felt I was the strongest player there, but the blind structure is so skewed and the prize pool so top heavy, it only makes sense to split.

LOL. If you're embarrassed by that, a XXXL blue hoodie can probably cover that up.
Cover it up? It took years of hard work a dedication to get it and now you want me to cover it up? Plus all the money I have spent to keep it up, never!

WE HAVE BROUGHT CHANGE TO THE ISLE!!!! YES WE CAN!!!!

Seriously, Mike ... better comp system please. PLEASE.

While I'm at it, Mike, if we arrange a 2p2 meetup at The Isle before July 1, can we have some of your time and also play a private deep-stacked SNG? Pretty please? I know I'm asking for a lot here but you're my hero. Ok, thanks.

I see some of the Miami area rooms open at 12 or 1PM. Where's the best place to go in the early afternoon? Flying it to town, and would like to head to a room that isn't slow going and short handed.

Thanks for any advice.

If you don't mind a 20 minute drive, go to the Seminole Hard Rock in Hollywood. If you want to stay in Miami, go to the Flagler Dog Track, AKA the "Magic City Casino."

So tilting that tampa hard rock rakes every pot, even if it's just a blind steal. Anybody think that with more competition via raised pari-mutual hours, this will change?

You can only hope, I really don't think it will, they are still going to be the only one with real gaming so they will still be the busiest room. If the state gave all the parimutuels slots then it would be competitive, husband and wife go out they go to the hard rock, she plays the slots he plays poker, this is not an option at the parimutuels.

I'll be attending a meeting with the DPMW on Tuesday, May 11 at the Isle Casino Pompano.

Does anyone care to go with me from Clearwater to share the driving? PPA member and non-smoking only please.

It will be a 3-day trip - drive down on Monday, return on Wednesday. Meeting will be just a couple hours Tuesday morn, so the rest of the time can be poker/touring. You will be able to attend the meeting as well.

Please PM me with your info including phone number.

PX, and others:

Perhaps this would be a good time to hold a 2p2 meetup? I'm going to be in contact with Mike Smith from the Isle this week to plan it.

I was thinking a Q&A session with Mike, maybe another one with PX if he's around and a private deep-stacked SNG ($50 buy in + whatever the Isle wants to run it?). Does May 11 work for you guys? Say 8p ET? PM or respond if you want to be in. If the date doesn't work, also let me know.

From the Governor. It's official!

http://www.flgov.com/release/11549

Quote:
STATEMENT BY GOVERNOR CHARLIE CRIST REGARDING THE GOVERNOR’S SIGNING OF SENATE BILL 622

April 28, 2010

“Today’s bill signing is the last step in a historic effort that benefits both the Seminole Tribe and the entire state of Florida. Following three years of healthy debate and deliberation, the children and families of Florida are now the beneficiaries of much-needed money that will be used to fund critical needs such as education. “With this signing, Florida has the immediate use of $250 million, already on hand, and makes way for even more revenue to meet the needs of our state for decades to come – a total of $1.2 billion during the first five years.

“I want to thank Senator Dennis Jones and Chairman Bill Galvano for helping secure a favorable compact for the Sunshine State. The compact’s approval is an example of elevating problem-solving over ideology.”
