Good catch. I meant 2006, not 2016. My bad.

Thanks for the good luck -- will need it.

Well run first day of MSPT (as expected). Couple of Dealer issues but they got worked out with no angst and in a timely manner. They didn't quite get to Spring's Day 1A total, but still 332 entries is a good start to the weekend.

Three PLO tables were going past 11 PM and the action was very juicy. I made back my tournament entry and then some, so it all washed out.

It was very nice to be 'welcomed back' into the room as opposed to a 'you abandoned us' attitude .. not that I was expecting anything different but it's note worthy none the less!!

Parking near the poker room is getting a little weird with the T2 construction ... it's actually better to go past it and use the hotel lot if you don't valet or use the garage. Back on Sunday for more cash games ... GL

Well, last night was pretty much worse case scenario and a disaster, but overall it was pretty fun to play a higher buying tourney.

Had my stack hovering between 40 and 55 K through the dinner break, and then around 9:30 p.m. won a nice part of about 35 k winning a flip with Ace King vs. Pocket Eights. Very next hand I look down at pocket kings.

A solid player with about 55k raises pre, I 3bet., preflop raiser jams, I instacall, he flips aces and I am crippled. Knocked out at around 10:15 p.m. with JJ versus KQ, such is life. Here now on the alternate list waiting to fire the second and final bullet. Much much busier today.

There were many players chasing low naked flush draws for any price at the PLO table(s) Thursday night.

Pretty good Sunday at FK. The initial 1-3 PLO table was great until it got decimated by them opening a 5-10 PLO table. It took a bit to fill it back up but was pretty stale for a long time and then picked up the action again after some turn-over. In a twist of fate the 5-10 PLO was in-turn decimated by the 10-25 PLO table opening up and struggled for a bit as well!

I've yet to figure out the best way to make transitions like this more smooth. I'd like to see the 'replacement' Players paged and ready to sit down before the leaving Players leave, but then you get a Player who decides not to move and bend a nose of a Player who either came in from the pits or left a different game themselves and is now stuck on the outside still.

The FT was not streamed last night due to the CA Stones issue. Really too bad since it was a stacked table, including two from the Massey family. There were a few WM locals that cashed in the top 50 or so but no one really in the last 10.

There was some whispers of a 3 or 4-handed chop but I was just leaving so I didn't really get any details. The barn door seems to be open on this thanks most recently to the exposure the WPT FT got where there was a chop that included a MI Player. And with the exposure that streams are getting right now we'll have to see where this type of agreement goes going forward, which affects POY points as well.

Not exactly who called off the stream. I heard both that MSPT and/or FK were the driving force behind at least suspending streams. There's a great pod cast from Johathon Little about the law suit filed and within the pod cast they mention that it could take 18-24 months before there's any resolution of any sort. That's a long time to go without the streams that we are so used to. HPT did stream from Pittsburgh but that was before the law suit was filed in CA ... may or may not have an affect. GL

Answer scooped a large pot Thursday night and said, "Time to go!" I think he was in the 3 seat when that happened.

Good headline ... now I'll bore you with more back story. Yes, I won a nice Bingo pot to end the night ... but it was SUNDAY night when I said 'time to go'. I was ready for a 'go home' hand. We were only 4-5 handed at the time (with 1-3 Players leaving the table every 2-4 hands) and I chose to end a nice 16.5 hour poker day on a positive note. It wasn't all PLO, but I started out at GL at 900 (had to get my free crock pot you know) before heading down to FK at Noon-ish.

Your referenced Thursday's big PLO pot came when I was in S2 when S4 paid off my A8xx all-in on A58Ax. If anything, I stayed too long and ended up dumping some back. I have a very hard time leaving a poker table when I should ... if there is such a thing. Love the game, love the people. Pretty sure I stayed around long enough for S4 to get bitched at by a couple of Players for 'paying off that guy' ...

You got to remember that I was there to play in a tournament that had already bagged at 12:10 AM and I think it was 1:30 when I pulled out of PLO. So if you're every at a table with me and I 'time to go' you just remember that I'm probably already over my original scheduled time frame for poker and just 'gotta go'!

I've never really had any major issues with FK ... but that extra 45 minutes on my drive is just brutal now that I've become accustomed to a shorter one. No poker room is perfect for every Player. Poker Players tend to be stubborn and exaggerate things as well. But I've seen more 'heated' Floor calls (per hours played) at FK than any other poker room and I'm really not sure why. It's usually the higher stake or 'deeper' games where maybe Players have a shorter fuse, but there's been a few at small stakes tables too. I tend to want to be part of a solution rather than a problem so we can all just get back to some amazing games in a wonderful room!! GL

Enjoy your posts. Especially interested to hear about impacts from around the USA about streaming/RFID/broadcast issues.
I live in Sacramento, and play at Stones frequently. I also will play some at Thunder Valley. I used to play at Red Hawk, and you can ask a certain poker room manager about that room when she was there. Since she's left, the room died.

Anyways- the driving issue with Stones and RFID was and is, the lack of security surrounding the raw, actual radio frequency feed and the in-real-time reading of the cards. Was there actually someone who was either helping Postle see the cards, or let him decode the feed? was the feed even coded? (sounds like no)

My betting is on the following outcome: Stones offers to make all losses whole from the accounting of the games, and goes after Postle for the $$. (good luck there) If someone is involved on their end, its either discovered, or they flip.

Stones is actually not really changed in its day to day ops. I don't think they hit their October event guarantee. (I was in LV). This RFID/Postle bs really doesn't affect day to day players. And the solutions are pretty simple- no phones, no hats, no funny actions/signals/earbuds/ etc. And when you add it all up, is broadcasting on Twitch to maybe 100 people max really worth it in the long run?

As the MSPT doesn’t officially allow chops, wonder how it worked. Would have been harder with a stream, but not having a stream certainly made it easier to chop. You can tell based on the final hand that a deal had been made already. Good for the players - their money their decision. Not a fan of disallowing deals.

Looks like the weather will break if anyone wants to take the trip to Milwaukee for the MSPT weekend over there. They have Thursday and Friday 3PM starts with a Saturday 100PM start. The $300K prize pool should be blown out of the water as usual. They also have a 'Last Chance' tournament for $580 on Sunday if you bust the ME.

The cash games are usually very juicy and since they play the tournament in a different room they never shut down. I've seen some of the easiest 1/3 table ever in this room ... go get some!! GL

There is talk of a group trying to get 1/3 NL match going this Sunday (22nd) by 2 PM or so. So if you are done with your shopping and can play that big there may be an opportunity at an unusual time this coming weekend. GL

There is a decent list going for it already, and there is a $10 mandatory straddle, so its 1/3/10. Could be fun.

Nice turnout of the FK500 .. 403 entries. From what I caught on Bravo there may have been an 8-way chop around Midnight. True chop value was just under $15K but only the folks that were there know what happened. That was basically 2/3 of the prize pool ($181K) going to the top 8 Players.

Not sure how it went on Saturday, but the 1-3-10 game had two tables going from 4 PM to ?? on Sunday as well. Not sure if the feeder was full after 9 PM but the list wasn't bigger than 3-4 the couple of times I checked.

Hopefully I got those numbers 'close enough' ... GL

Received some information on the FK500 payouts from a known source, so they should be pretty good!!

Chip Leader (7 million) took a bit of a cut from $33.2K down to $29K while 2nd in chips (3 million) got $17K. The other six accepted equal shares of $11.8K each.

I didn't take exact note of what 8th would've paid out but I'm thinking it was just over $4K. GL

I checked bravo yesterday afternoon and saw 14 tables going. I thought for sure it was a mistake. It wasnt. They had a huge high hand giveaway going on, that I apparently just missed.

It looks like the full house pyramid is gone after 1 year. Good riddance. It was confusing to new players, took too long to explain, was easy to forget about, and sucked for Sunday players who paid into it but couldnt collect.

Apparently now the hot hands promo (quads + str8 flushes) will increase at a greater amount per day. Also, Im not positive but I think the promo drop went back down to $1. I will check next time I am there.

That was the only pro. Youd get a few guys who would start playing most qualifying hands preflop. It seemed like this had mostly fallen off lately though.

Oh yeah, another thing. We get the best TV in the room back now.

Looks like it might be a 2020 promo ...

$500 HH per hour paid from 5 PM to 2 AM on Jan 31st (at least) .. 'starts' at 4 PM

Interesting promo for a night of the week that is typically busy anyway. But it's always nice to have promos available to Regs!! GL

From my limited exposure the BCB is smaller (60-75%?) than the $500 and they had taken out a level or two from the structure to move things along. One thing you can count on is that they aren't afraid to make adjustments when they see something they don't like or respect the feedback from the Player pool ... on some things. An example of this was moving the start of the $500 back to Noon from 1000 last year.

So although the differences may not be noticeable to all Players you can't always go by what happened the last time you were there.

Looks like the 1-3-10 NL cash game is trying to gather on Sunday at 2PM and Monday at 6PM. Call the poker desk for details on the list, which has been opening up outside the normal call-in guidelines. GL

Next Friday is the first '5th Friday High Hand' date ... $500 per hour HH starting at 4PM through 2AM.

Also $500 HH promo running on Presidents Day .. Mon Feb 19th?

Great run by a FKeeper Reg in the East Chicago HPT event. He was card dead AND kept running into better hands when his were decent. Made A LOT of correct folds to stay alive but it just didn't work out to move up the payouts much on Monday's steam.

I though the 127? entries into the Black Chip Bounty was pretty good with all the other poker going on in the Midwest (HPT and MSPT close by) and Florida going on. Poker is alive and well in Jan 2020. GL
