Does anyone know how often 2/5 NL games open up here? Also, anything bigger?

2/5 will run on Saturday and the 1/3 PLO (match the highest stack) game still runs on Thursday nights.

There is a rumor of a 10/20 RxR game MSPT Weekend, but nothing higher then those listed above on a regular basis.

MP ... Welcome again ... I wouldn't get there too early in the day for 2/5, although the 2/5 game has been known to run all night on occasion but it will rarely run through from one day to the next ... try to get the list going by 200 PM and that might draw in enough to start the table. I've been hearing pretty good things about the action at FKeepers this Winter but they will typically have 33-50% less tables than GLake running at any given time. The BI for 1/2 is $100 more than GLake at $400 and there are 'enough' Players who will sit down with a full stack. There are many times when there's more action at the 1/2 than the 2/5. So, again, don't be fooled by the blind level no matter where you play in WMich.

FKeepers is the best tournament facility along I-94 with very good regs at all entry levels.

Weekend (Fri/Sat) MSPT satties start March 22nd according to the MSPTpoker.com web site ... so 'probably' the Sat night bounty will drop off in lieu of the $250 Satty through the tournament in mid May. $65 Noon Fri/Sat, $65 Fri evening and $250 Sat evening. There is no doubt that this will clear the $1M prize pool once again!!

Give us a trip report ... GL

Its still my local Casino (I live in Jackson County) and am there once or twice a week. I will probably play tomorrow night. Hopefully the top full house is still on the board. It hadnt been hit in a couple weeks, and was at 3k this week.

Nice.

I hit my first pyramid hand ($200) since its implementation earlier this week.

Yeah, Ive hit $200 as well. I was 3 outs twice from hitting the top 3k spot tonight. 92 on a 22x flop. if it doesnt hit by 9am then the top hand is 4k next week.

Nick Manion is playing 2/5 tonight if anyone wants a shot at some of his wsop winnings.

Great turnout for the tournament .. 378? entries .. I saw that it was over $20K for 2nd place, so 1st was more (duh!?)

I didn't stay for cash but I did see the 2/5 was still running after 1200 AM.

As per usual, well run tournament and I didn't have or see any 'issues'.

Played pretty good ... Got a guy to commit a bunch PF and then I made it look like I missed the Flop (it's always AK, right?) and he committed more, then he shoved the Turn with a gutty and 8 high flush draw ... the flush hit.

Bust out was classic ... I shove 12bb into a limper from B with AQs, SB flats, Limper flats. Flop QQJ (yes) ... NO, SB shoves and shows JJ .. Turn J for the screw you card. GL

2/5 was running with a waiting list as of 11:30. At points they had enough for a 2nd table if they really wanted to.

First place was worth around 34k. I didnt stick around to see who won.

What promos are they running right now to combat Gun Lake $100 high hand hourly?
FireKeepers Casino (Battle Creek, Michigan) Quote

From what I saw on Sunday they have two promos going ..

1) A 'Full House Pyramid' ... Where 3 types of FH are picked on Monday and as each one is hit it pays out from the pyramid from the bottom (low payout) to the very top ($3000) payout when the last one is hit. So there are 36 'hot' FH for each week.

2) They have a hot hand board where certain hands (quads/st flush) have a prize value when hit. The values go up each week if they aren't hit.

I'm not even sure if they push this on their website or not. GL

Pretty close.

The hot hands go up every DAY. $25/day for quads 22-AA. $50/day for st. flushes of the 4 suits, and $75/day for royals. Ive seen some of the royals clip 3k, but quads are rarely above 100.

They still have the BBJ but its quads beaten now, so it grows a lot bigger, but still slow, since the other promos pay out a lot. To pay for all the promos the rake is now 5+2, but they dont take the 2 until the pot hits 20. So if you make a fh or hot hand in a small pot, be sure to wink and nudge your opponent. Ive seen a fh that didnt pay because the pot was only 12.

I don't think this has been posted yet, but last week or so someone folded the BBJ. The two players in the pot were two friends from out of state. I bet that drive home was awkward AF.

Also, one of the last times the BBJ was hit, the winner didn't tip the dealer and there was such a commotion from all of the other players at the table that the floor had to be called. Someone said that the guy came back a few days later and tipped the dealer.

I did not witness any of this, but multiple players told me about the two situations.

Edit: Forgot a key detail. The guy who folded the BBJ folded to a ~$30 bet.

I've heard both those stories as well, but don't have any more detail to add, other than I have no idea under what board/situation you fold a BBJ.

It happens to the best of us though. I almost folded a $200 FH, and would have cost another guy the FH too. It was a couple weeks ago and I had 77 on a 666x9 board. The guy bet $5 into $17 on the river, and I knew my hand was no good. He looked at me and said "call the 5". I was puzzled because to make a quads hot hand you have to have a pocket pair. I figured whatever and called. He flipped 88, and I showed. I missed that 6's full of 7's and 8's were both good for $200 each.

Soft play and collusion at FKeepers!! What a headline ... Oh, that's just any given day at a poker table ...

One of my worst cases of a missed pot fold was when I had $22 back and called a PF $20 raise with A9. Board comes out K77 and two very easy reads bet and shoved before it got to me on the button. I fold and it comes running 9s!!

For runner-runner against a 7x hand I have to hit 1 of six remaining A or 9 (12.7%) and then I have to hit 2 of the remaining A or 9 (depending on which one hits the Turn) and that's 4.3%. So that works out to 0.55% chance ... or about 1 in 180. The pot would have basically been $66, so for $2 I was getting only 1 to 33 calling odds ... GOOD FOLD.

And for you nay sayers (and you chip/chair folks) ... Just last week I lost a pot and had $9 back at GLake. Paid the blinds and then went all-in OTB for $6. Well lets just say that I cashed out for $312. GL

A guy folded what he thought was top set to me face up a couple of weeks ago. He actually had the nut boat. I was very lucky it worked out that way.

This post needs to be moved to the "absurd thinking...." thread.
