Fifth Sunday $500 this weekend!! Take your shot at $30K ish for 12 hours of work!!

Multiple drawings each Wed in August for poker Players. Earn one entry for each hour played starting Aug 1st and then be playing at a table 15 minutes before each Wednesday drawing. Not sure how many drawings per day, but it looks like $4500 per day for the first four and then $9000 on the last Wed.

See you Sunday ... Looks like Gun Lake is back on track for Sept opening so it will be interesting what happens through the MSPT dates and beyond if those rooms are butting heads through the start of Winter. GL

Very good Sunday at FK! 415 entries into the $500 which was a record by 1! It ended in a 6-way chop with each player getting between 2nd and 3rd place money. Not sure who signed for 1st as FK wont change the paperwork.

Cash got going around 230 which was good as well. Just another day at this well-oiled machine of a poker room. Don't forget about the Wednesday drawings this month and start to plan your MSPT satty schedule, which probably wont start until after Labor Day. GL

Very nice 'first Wednesday' for the drawings after a surprising slow start. I was expecting some players to put in overnight sessions trying to stack up some entries, but the table was only 4-handed when I got there before 700.

Things steadily picked up and we eventually converted a table to 1/3 NL later in the day instead of a 2/5. Not sure they had a Dealer issue .. yet .. but they were a bit slow to pull the trigger on the 2/5 or PLO once they reached 10 on the list.

I wish I could've stuck around a bit longer after the 6pm drawing .. you can read about my exit hand in the WM thread! I was 0 for 3 on the drawings but the cash run good from Sunday was still going strong and overall it was a positive day. GL

Headed down today for some more Wednesday drawing 'hope' .. but mainly for the 1/3 game that has popped up each Wed this month. There was no game going this morning and only two games going at Midnight when I checked Bravo so no really big push for entries from Players today. GL

Hey answer20, I'll be coming down there for a week in September. You seem to be a reg there. I have a few questions if you don't mind me asking. How does the 2nd/4th Sunday tourny's usually run. Entrants/prize pool and what not. I'll be there during the 2nd week. Also, what days/times would you recommend best for cash games. I usually play 2/5 but have not seen it run much there on Bravo. The 1/3 "match" I see on there seems interesting. Any input I would greatly appreciate, thank ya.

The Sunday tournaments can be hit or miss, but usually anywhere from 70 to 120 entries with a few more showing up for the $240 tournaments.

2/5 NL cash is usually a lock on Fridays with 1/3 PLO running on Thursdays and Saturdays. 2/5 can get going on Saturdays as well. But with a $400 BI for the 1/2 you can usually find plenty of action at those tables. The higher stakes games usually get going in the later afternoon hours depending on when the regs show up.

They rarely run the 1/3 NL. The 2/5 can be just awful, but also very juicy depending on the Players.

The issue you will have is that a new poker room is opening in the region in September and FKeepers will no doubt lose some business, especially during the week IMO, so what I'm telling you is based on previous experience (of course) with a less than normal 'guarantee'. The new room may not affect the Sunday tournaments since the new room probably wont have higher BI tournaments and certainly can't host that many runners with only 14 tables.

There will be a MSPT satty on Saturday nights in September so that will be a draw as well. You could play in that and then sell the ticket to a reg if you wanted. GL

April is still there ... still happily married ... still seen as having a quick fuse when it comes to rulings and 'defending' FK rules ... and still works the same basic schedule as always, being the afternoon into the evening until Richard gets there. I certainly don't have all the Floor's schedules memorized but there really hasn't been too much of a shake up in quite a while. GL

Yes. A little web searching and I found it. I just moved to Holland so this is great news for me.

A check of Bravo showed 'typical' attendance for the Wednesday drawings .. with the 1/3 'match the stack' NL running with 10 on the list!! So interesting that 2/5 gets more love the rest of the week. GL

1) Fifth Sunday $500 coming up in two weeks. 10 AM start ... make sure you get there by 845 if you want a seat at the start. Early reg may already be gong on.

2) MSPT sattys ($65) and qualifiers ($250) are ongoing each Friday and Saturday. The entries into these will pick up as the ME (October 18-21) gets closer but still a very good opportunity to earn some equity because of this event ... even if you just sell your ticket to someone else!

3) Cash games are down a bit right now as can happen once school starts and weekends have 'other' commitments. PLO has really struggled lately for various reasons but there is still a list popping up ... a very good time to get in there and learn this version of poker! GL

Correction on your post... MSPT is the weekend before Oct 11-14

LOTS of buzz for the $500 on Sunday, should be big!

Also, Dealers can process rebuys at the table for cash games again (still can't have cash in-play though) and now 100 points an hour for comps.

WOW .. yes, messed that up by a week. So it's time to get in some Sattys or grind up that $1100 entry fee.

The $500 was down this time. 1/2 cash was back running during Level 2, which is very early. There was no wait list at any time either that I could tell by the tournament clock .. pretty much anyone late or re-entering went directly to a seat.

Not the best day for me ... not one, but two set over set spots and I was out late in Level 7. When I left with about 30 minutes left to enter there had been 319 entries so far. That didn't keep the FT from running pretty late though, pushing/past 1100 PM and ended with what looked like a 4-way chop based on Bravo info. GL

Another crash and burn Sunday at FK!! I mean how bad can it go? I still plan to show up on Thursday for MSPT, but will have to pay the full fare as my week is too busy to get in there for any Sattys.

They did have over 100 for the $65 today, so that's a good number for 'week of'.

Couple of new Dealers that were very deliberate to get everything right instead of maybe going too fast. Probably could've picked up the pace a little but it's understandable as well.

It will be an interesting weekend, hopefully everything is 'normal', but I don't think we will quite get to a new record this time around. GL

Great day for MSPT ... 299 sets a Thursday Day 1A record. Let's see if they can keep things going today and tomorrow for another record!!

All went smooth for this great tournament site!! They didn't even shut cash down ... but don't count on that Fri/Sat when the entries are bound to go up. They added 2 Levels to the Day 1s (now up to 16 Levels) and changed the break schedule a bit. Breaks are 10 minutes every 2 hours (3 Levels) but they added a 40 minute dinner break at Level 9 since it will be a 12 hour day for those that make it through.

The added Levels will help things on Sunday and also might get a few extra entries for those that bust those last two Levels.

I really feel like the Lions of poker right now at FK. I'm just finding new ways to lose every time!! I get a guy to put in 120bb after 'he gives me the speech' about knowing he's behind but he can re-enter with his QQ v my KK. Of course he hits a Queen on the Turn, but alas I have a 4-flush ... and it hits!! But, of course, it pairs the Board. It's it just lovely to have Players willing to dump their stack in Level 3? GL

Super run once again for MSPT, not quite the record overall but still a tournament that you wont quite see anywhere for this price point! Even the HPT and WSOPc struggle to offer a prize pool this large for their ME (at a larger BI).

New Dealers did fine, cash was down a little I think but I see cash play 'down' overall at a lot of casinos. It didn't help that WSOPc was going on in Chicago at the same time either.

The landscape of poker is always changing and FK has been doing it well for a long time (10 years?) ... What will they come up with next to keep things new and fresh? GL

So the high-hand promo is gone, and is replaced by a a full house pyramid. I have mixed opinions, which I'll get to once I try to explain it. I'm not sure if FK invented this, but I haven't seen or heard of it anywhere else (I don't get around to other rooms much).

The way it works is this. Each Wednesday at (noon?), they will draw 3 cards. For example, last week it was a King, 6, and 3. All full-house combos using those cards as the top of the house (Kings full of 2's, 6's full of 8's, etc.) become eligible for a bonus. It's first come first serve. The first person to make that specific combo of full house using both hole cards win a bonus. The bonuses are in pyramid form, with a bottom row of 8 bonuses of $100, a row of 7 at $150, going up to $1500 for the top spot. Once a unique combo hits, that combo is crossed off, and the first box on the pyramid is paid out. So the last of the 36 full house combos to hit is the big winner.

Why it's good for the game:
-It ups their Wednesday volume and hopefully builds some hype for the big bonuses come peak weekend hours.
-It can loosen up the game, as people start plaing some garbage hands, like 73o, trying to chase the bonus.

Why it's bad:
-I tend to play a lot of Sunday/Monday evenings. The last two weeks the pyramid was done for the week by then. So the $1 drop I'm paying is going to subsidize people who play Wednesday to Saturday.
-A lot of the screens in the room get hi-jacked to show the current pyramid status, so less sports on TV.

The bad beat is neutral EV regardless of room volume, and the high hand favored players at off-peak hours (like me).

It's not going to affect my volume, although my personal winrate likely takes a small hit, as I have claimed a few high hand bonuses during its time. The only way it hurts me is if it kills the room action on Monday/Tuesday nights. So far the action has still been pretty good there. GLC doesn't seem to be pillaging their volume too much.

On the plus side, the comp rate is now $1/hr.

The pyramid concept is not a new one. SEagle has had 'Soaring Hands' from time to time and Toledo as well had different versions of the promotion.

FKeepers seems to zero in on Wednesdays for promos, I believe the August Anniversary promos are usually on Wed as well.

I'm sure you've seen a dip in volume but maybe some new Players in the room. The BBJ shouldn't go up as fast either.

My playing volume usually drops off from now until the end of the year so we'll see how things are shaking out going into 2019. GL
