I'm heading up to Kalamazoo this week to visit in-laws. I have a chance to play on Wednesday night (8 PM+) and potentially Friday afternoon/early-evening (maybe until 6 PM). Any recommendations for which time/day has better 1/2 (more loose-passive) games? Also, is it basically guaranteed that games will be running both days/times.

I don't think I can swing Friday/Saturday night because of family commitments.

Thanks for any insight/advice.

The room has been a bit more active lately, but that maybe because the weather has been so bad....Or maybe it's the $400 buyin on 1-2....or maybe it's the bad beat @ 76k... hard to say.

Tournaments 7 days a week started today so we will see how that affects things.

The 1-2- (5 to call, open for 20) PLO game on Thursdays seems to be growing.

Bad beat now 94k and not changing to lower qualifier and table share (per dealers) after this one hits. Seems like AM trny's didn't work, but they are going to change them to Noon next week. Looking forward to the monthly deep stack starting next month. Concert nights seem to bring in some fish.

Nice session for me tonight. Up $275 in abt 3 hours.

Did they start the new bad beat rules yet? Anyone know what the jackpot is up to?

I was told the rules are no longer changing. New management apparently didn't agree with the changes. BBJ was 95k Sat night.

I got a $300 dollar bank roll saved up I don't have a lot of money am a better mtt player than cash games I would say. With the BBj being so high and my roll being so low I think I want to skip on tourneys for now and take a shot at the ring games. Just looking for some advice on what days would be best for me and what tables/how much should I buy in for. Anything I do is going to be far outside of my general br management rules but I just can only spare the $300 that I have to get started. Any advice would be great, thank you!

Bump for potential MSPT trip this weekend. No posts about it anywhere. How is it run/structured? It says a cap of 100 a day???? I would have to drive in on Saturday, is it gonna sell out that day?

Thanks

A few of us have been posting about it on the Detroit thread. I'll be there, probably just for cash games and to do some media coverage. I heard that they might not have the cap. They removed some slots just outside of the poker room to add tables for the event. Never heard of a casino removing machines for poker tables, but there you go.

cool thanks ill keep an eye on that thread. Cap is probably the make or break from me driving from Chicago and losing an hour.

Im there regularly and they did move some slots and added 8 tournament tables. Shouldn't be a cap now. I think the 100 cap was from the Spring event, but they seem ready to roll now.

Is there any info on starting stack, blind levels etc? Thinking of driving up, if I get there 3 hours early I should get a seat, right?

They said on fbook that they shouldn't hit a cap but it looks like 22 tables so I'm guessing they should get close. Gonna try to get there by 11 I suppose

I don't believe you will have any issue with a cap with their expanded area.

73 entries for 1C so far, so no fear of a cap at all. GL to all of you playing.

I played cash at Firekeepers a few times this past week.

What a fantastic group of dealers. The room is clean, efficient, friendly. Pagers when you join a wait list. Good food delivered to the room. Cage in the room. Etc. Etc. Etc. Best run room I have played in anywhere in the midwest.

Keep it up Firekeepers!

Hi,

I'm looking for anyone who is interested in carpooling from the Grand Rapids area to Firekeepers Casino.

Please PM if interested. I'll probably also want to chat a bit on skype or a phone call just to verify legitimacy.

Specifically, I want to go this Friday night. Other than that I'd like to develop a list of people who are interested in carpooling.

Hey curious question... how is the weekend action? Like when does it die out?? Ive run into issues at soaring eagle on the weekend where the tables end up being a nit fest at 3am and people end up leaving, cuz well everyone is leaving and nobody wants to lose their stack lol... yet I like to just keep on playing lol... so going from saturday or friday to the next day is normal for me lol

It's about the same at FK. I think they have last call at 1am. Once people stop drinking and it gets late the "reasons" to stay leave. I have played until 10am before and I don't really see the point. Leaving at 3am seems like an efficient use of time.

Two weeks ago they played 3 handed PLO till 4 or 5am if the regs were telling the truth, I was not there. Hard to keep games going round the clock anywhere outside of Vegas or AC in my experience.
