Ok, I'm confused about this. They are shutting down for how long? Why did they bother to renovate the room (another useless venture, didn't improve anything much) only to close it a few months afterwards?

So they are expanding CN because they don't have 20 tbls right now?

Actually, it's all one big joke, for example, why did they bother to built a 2nd casino in the first place vs expanding? Poor planning from the get-go.

The current poker room at fallsview will be converted to more roulette tables, etc, but will have 5 tables in a new spot. Not sure of the exact plans for the CN, but I think the poker room will be moving to a new spot in the casino and the pit boss I talked to said they will have 20 tables total.

Thanks for the added info. Can't see it being good for the casino, table games and TVs surrounding them? Isn't that a no-no in terms of casino psychology? One big joke.

I think keeping all of the poker in 1 room is a great idea for the everyday poker player - for the regs looking to take advantage of the game, well that's a different story... If it leads to being seated quicker, with the possibility of more tourneys then I'm all for it. Just sucks that it's going to be at CN rather than at FV...

I heard it was going to be sort of a medium-limit lounge.

Nothing about this is good...currently can has 12 tables and FV has 17 and they are going to 20 total. Waits won't be less they will be worse.

Does anyone know if the casino bus goes or will go to CN or will bus takers be on their own to get from FV to CN?

How often are all tables open at either venue? I've been at FV many times where there have been massive wait lists but half the tables were closed. Excuse is usually that they had a bunch of dealers sick that day. lol right...

The Toronto area tour buses all go to Fallsview and will in the future. Poker doesn't bring enough players on the bus to justify a stop at Niagara. Plus the people running both casinos want players to play at Fallsview as they have higher limits and more expensive restaurants.

Any clue how 5/10 and above will work going forward?
Lots of the people that start/play 5/10 play the table games at FV, and I doubt they would go to Niagara to play poker.

sooo... what the hell is going on?

fallsview closing tomorrow, will CN immediately begin running 2/5 +? what's happening to bravo, will CN have it? if so how long until its up and running at that property? how long until the new area with 5 tables at fallsview is set up, and what games will run?

fallsview/cn is such a joke, some, any, competition is so desperately needed

it would be nice if there was a way to get the action to cross the border and come to Seneca

^^^ agree but the border crossing along with non favourable exchange rate means that's not gonna happen.

Any trip reports on the last day? Plus if anybody plays on the first day a trip report would be cool about Niagara or Fallsview.

Yep, they are but only 5 tables. Went there yesterday and they had 2 2/5 NL tables, 2 5/10 NL and 1 5/10 PLO. Waiting lists were reasonable for 5/10 NL but were very long and slow for 2/5. Haven't been to CN yet, but apparently the room is nice and max buyin for 2/5 is $1000.

CN trip report:
Wasn't as busy as fallsview typically was, think there were only 3 tables of 2/5 and 5 of 1/3. Not sure if people don't know or just can't be bothered.
Other hand -- I got seated immediately. Not sure if I just came at the right time or what but that rarely happened at FV.
They do take phone-ins, I didn't know.
Buyins increased: 2/5 200-1000, 1/3 100-300. Saw most people buy in for near the max at 2/5. Good news.
Food court is terrible. I rarely complain about stuff like this but they have one person taking orders for 3 restaurants. 30+ people in line, one person getting served a minute. Maybe it's ok in the middle of the afternoon but don't bother during peak hours. Also the KFC doesn't sell chicken, wtf?
On the other hand, dinner break is 1 hour so you have time to go outside.
As predicted a lot of the recreational players didn't come or stuck to 1/3. The 2/5 I saw today was pretty reggy. But it seems a lot of the regs are just used to autopiloting a 100bb stack against weak players like Fallsview 2/5, and don't really know how to adjust. I'm just as rusty when it comes to deep play but saw a fair bit of stuff I would classify between spew and christmas presents.
Ok so KFC does have chicken sandwiches and popcorn chicken. But not chicken chicken, you know, drumsticks and thighs. Again, wtf?
They are very strict about eating inside the poker room, unlike Fallsview where it was generally allowed as long as you were discreet enough for staff to pretend to ignore you.
Rumor is the rest of the games will migrate to CN when the bad beat jackpot at Fallsview goes off. Doesn't make any sense to me and nobody is getting reliable information, so I wouldn't read much into it. but there it is.
Look, KFC isn't even in my top 3 fried chicken. But I saw the sign and I got a craving for the colonel's famous recipe. And they don't sell it. That thing that's in all their branding and millions of dollars in advertisements. WTF?

anyway, my take is poker is alive and well, just different. Might change once all the people able to lose their money twice as fast actually do so.

They brutalized FV. Where they stuck the tables is so bad. They packed them in the corner near the restrooms. Playing in that room feels dirty now. RIP FV
