I'd be shocked if they spread 2-4. Wynn caters to a more upscale clientele. I could see 3-6, maybe.

4/8 I think would mostly be the norm.

Or just spread 9/18 holdem like they spread the 9/18 mix here

If they have bus customers, then they will have 2/4.

Ideally for limit 4-8, 8-16 or 9-18 and 20-40 is the way to go. But in this day and age I can't see new casinos having $2, $3, $10 and $20 chip denominations. I hope the room has a variety of non NLH games.

There should be a way to poll people and see what they are interested in playing and then based on those preferences build games, etc... but that would involve maybe some interaction with Bravo app or something like that.

I remember when Mohegan reopened their room they had 2-4, 3-6 and 4-8 going for a week or two with lists for 6-12, 10-20, 20-40 and 30-60. The board was all over the place. I don't remember if the mid stakes hold'em games ever went off. Point is I think Encore should have a set list prior to opening their room so Bravo doesn't look like a cluster. If they decide to spread 4-8, 10-20 and 20-40, so be it.

80/160 would be full with a list at Encore location.

Something like an Interest List?

You think? Seems a little too high, maybe if it's a mixed game. If you change that to 20-40 or 30-60 I agree. Whatever they run limit-wise I vote a 3-6 chip structure. 2/3 SB and more hands/hr

Not exactly hype: https://www.wbur.org/bostonomix/2019...igative-report

will they or won't theyyyyy? is there really a question? Will they really pull the license and replace the signage when Mohegan buys it?

If this room is as big as it is billed they can have 2/4. 4/8 and 8/16 just like the Orleans.

When I mean people sign up for games they're interested in playing, I don't mean an interest list where people sign up for 14 different games and they're on 14 different lists and it is a cluster to actually know what is going on. You'd have to order/rank your preference and other things where we can isolate and figure out what games are the most likely to run. I have zero clue how to accomplish this or get it right but I am sure there are some smart people in sales/marketing from other industries who have done this very successfully.

Other industries? There's people that have Masters in casino management that will be working at Encore. Why would we want other industries opinions on the matter?

Players always think they know best, but in reality, poker players are just annoying.

How about just show up and whatever it will be, it will be....

If they aren't like the Burger King slogan(if you cant have it your way, whatever it is, just take your business elsewhere).

We will soon know what will be, when it opens.

The closest comparable in size metro area to Boston is Philadelphia. Right now at 6:50 on a Wednesday afternoon the three Philly area rooms have 62 games going. 57 of them are no limit hold'em. We could be arguing much ado about nothing when it comes small stakes limit hold'em. I think some of us are hoping for more variety.

Those of us wishing Encore will spread non NLH games, do yourself a favor and show up frequently for a while when the room first open and they are trying to establish their bread and butter games.
Boston is a huge market, I'm pretty sure there are players for all kind of games and stakes, they just need guidance. If the hard core players make concerted effort any game/stake could become a staple.
I'm personally jumping ship at Foxwoods and planning on showing up on day one.

Who here thinks this delay might go towards mid-late Summer?

Is there a delay? The website still shows June 23rd as opening.

That’s their hopes. MGC still hasn’t found them “suitable” for the license.
04-05-2019 , 01:51 PM
I am curious how this hearing with the MGC compared to the one with the LVGC. Steve Wynn did stuff and there were people who covered it up. The company cleaned house and is being super diligent now going forward. They paid a 20 million fine in Vegas. Most companies that have been caught will have procedures, systems, policies, etc... in place to prevent this from happening again. If they give the license to Mohegan, Caesars, etc... they prob don't have these things in place and who is to say there are not already things being covered up at those companies. This is just a crap show. If the MGC just wants to fine/extort Encore for 20 mil go ahead and say so.

Seriously, I didn't know this thing was going to take days, plural!

I said years ago this state's oversight was going to be a clownshow beyond compare....and they've somehow managed to even exceed THOSE expectations. That's nutty.

Was scheduled as a 3 day hearing before it even kicked off.

If anyone thinks that they are going to pull this license then you are dumber than a box of rocks. There is way to much money at stake here and I'm not even talking about Encore's money I'm talking about what government/the state of Mass stands to make here... a pulling of the license or even a delay would put a dent in the coffers of the state and local municipalities, they will just be shooting themselves in the foot. There will be the normal blah blah blah followed by a big fine, followed by Encore opening on the exact day it plans to open on... nothing more nothing less. You heard it here first.

Do you always take the favorite? Jeez!

Laying 200:1 Mohegan snags the license following revocation, covers the Encore sign with a multicolored tribal sun and boom!
