I'll be there on the second day, the 19th. Definitely will be sharing what I see.

How do you get an invite for this?

To my knowledge, know an employee that can and will give you an invite. I think they get two.

Be a Wynn player at another property and deem u worthy enough, or work on the casino while being constructed.

I’m really hoping that 20/40LHE is a game that runs here. If not consistently, at least on the weekends. I feel like some of the mid-higher stakes games may take a few weeks or more to really get going.

Which Amtrak train station in Boston should I arrive at? Back Bay? North? South? Then I plan on Ubering to and from casino from AirBNB in Everett. Good plan? Thanks.

Pretty sure the shortest trip would be from North Station. North Station is on the Orange Line, if you wanted you could take two stops to Sullivan Square and have a one mile walk or Uber from there.

Agree, if North Station is an option for you. If you're coming from the south, then Back Bay is on the orange line as well.

I'm coming from DC. Looks like Back Bay is my option.

Is driving there from Burlington mass (Hyatt house) in August (giving it a month before going), going to be a disaster?

With the current traffic pattern, it depends on time of day. I wouldn't try to get there from the north any time between 7am-10am. Midday still has a good amount of traffic, so the ideal time would be after 7pm. At that point traffic should be at it's lowest. But who knows, the casino traffic may make that time the worst.

Who knows? It’s an easy trip 90% of the way, but none of us know what that last mile is going to look like come opening. If I had to guess I’d say it’ll be more annoying than total cluster**** if you’re going in August at an off-peak day/hour.

You are not far away. How about making several runs and you post a trip report(s)?

Thanks!😎

Plan ok it all being a chaotic gongshow then you wont be let down if it isnt.

2900 spots (how many are valet..not that it really matters)...all will be full. I heard someone mention they are expecting 30k a day in people. It will be a massive cluster for a long while. Lots of looky loos, myself included.

I'm okay with taking the T or whatever but where the hell to park at the T? Most commuters already eat all those T spots up.

Not surprised permit parking only in Everett now...makes sense as you know people will try and park anyways. See how quick the towing companies get to them or not.

Might have to park at Home Depot or something and uber over...

Uber people are going to make out nicely...

I’m planning to walk the ~2 miles from my place in Somerville rather than chance the traffic on opening day. I think even the shuttles from the T stops will be a ****show.

Agree with this, I'm coming from Worcester and I'll plan on arriving before 8am on a Saturday if I want to play encore. I will park on the property in this scenario.

Every where I play, just keeps on bashing this place. I don't understand, bashing competition doesn't win over customers. We learned that in NE general discussion.

It’s so ****ing annoying!
Even dealers at FW that I like are doing it and spreading misinformation.
Makes me think less of them Encore Boston Hype Thread (Everett, MA)

Of course FW dealers are bashing Encore.
Why do you think?
It’s a treat to their employment! Instead of bettering themselves and moving to a 5star property, they’d rather stick there and fell threatened, so their defense mechanism is to trash the place and anyone else who’s going.

Does anyone know why that article says Sullivan isn't walkable? If I'm correct there is a sidewalk and a bike lane on the road to the casino.

While I think it is a bad idea to bash the competition (any competition - Mohegan, NH rooms, MGM, Vegas, whatever) I take issue with the "better themselves and move to a 5 star property" line. I of course have no idea who is bad mouthing and who isn't, but depending on where they live, their family situation, and how long they've been with their employer deciding to just uproot and move to an expensive, more urban location with no seniority would be a very difficult decision. There are dealers moving from across the country and even the world to come to MA, but it is a gamble on their part. Who knows if Encore Boston will pan out to be as busy as we all hope it will be (not just out of the gate, but 5-10 years from now). Who knows what the average employee will personally experience for quality of life in the area. Good luck to those that moved and I hope the good dealers in CT and NH continue to improve and prosper despite (or as a result of) the new competition.

Yeah I'm planning on doing that walk at least some of the time. Maybe because it is a bit of a sketchy walk? That rotary at Sullivan is one of the crazier ones and I don't know if cars are used to stopping at the cross walks.

That rotary IS insane, but it’s walkable from Sullivan Sq. I’ve done it infrequently as a jogging route.

Ok maybe not “better themselves”
But in this industry, you have to do what you gotta do.
Going there day 1 instead of bashing the place, is already giving them seniority down the line.

I used to work in CT and took a gamble and took a job at TR back 6 years ago.
I took a gamble and moved to Vegas 3 years ago. And now I’m taking another gamble and going somewhere else.... Encore Boston Hype Thread (Everett, MA)

You either keep going with the times, or get stuck with the times. Some have chosen to stay, but they should refrain from bashing the place or others who are willing to take a chance at a change!

Luckboxed my way into a Casino Play Day invite, will be over on the second day, June 19th. Will definitely be spending a lot of time in the poker room and hopefully will see some of you boys there!

Seems unlikely but will be in town for the soft opening, anyone looking to give an invite DM me. Also anyone going to any of the baseball games that week let me know. Will be my first time in BEAN town
