How many tables does Commerce have? I am amazed at how much $$$ there is in the LA Area and because traffic is so bad no one really commutes far and they have so many poker rooms all over the city and it is super convenient but Boston is a pretty densely populated area with a lot of people within driving distance and a lot of people with disposable income who may pop in and play some poker.

The Wynn in Vegas has always offered great service and amenities on top of being a well run establishment and this is a great reason for people to come and experience it firsthand for themselves. Many businesses fail to live up to expectations or go downhill after a while and lose their novelty but consistent commitment to providing something nice is hard to do and hopefully they pull this off.

Am I supposed to believe that all these poker players itching to play are not willing to drive 20 miles right now, but will somehow flood Encore when it opens? Why are the current poker rooms in the area so dead?

I realize that people have high hopes but nowadays, it seems that more regs are chasing openings and openings are full of regs and traveling pros, which is how people described Springfield opening to me.
Aside from Boston Billiards in Nashua which other rooms in the Boston vacinity are on Bravo? I don’t believe any other NH rooms are on there however around 10 others utilize Poker Atlas......while Twin River in Lincoln, RI is not on either.

Even on a Wednesday night like yesterday between all of these rooms you probably had around 40-50 or so tables running on a night when Mohegan Sun has a HH promo and Foxwoods in the middle of a tournament series. I’ll post an actual live number of tables later to show what a random Thursday night does.

I am not worried about the turn out in the Poker room. There will be plenty.
Every week end, the Twin River room is full. I cannot count the number of times I heard players saying they are waiting for the Encore to open to relocate there.
Also, the Encore guys did their property right. There will be plenty of people coming for other reasons and who will end up playing a few hours.
It is probably going to be better managed, a better atmosphere, shorter distance on average, on Bravo, more variants, deeper games, etc.
The room should be very successful.

And a poker room above the casino floor, overlooking the entire casino, with two balconies overlooking the river, inside a smoke free property.

It’s a Wynn Win!

Yes, the descriptions sound awesome. Surprised they haven't invited some videographers to put up a few YouTube videos. There are so many people in this area who I know who never gamble but will prob show up once a month just for the buffet.

There's a big article in Boston Globe today with lots of info including room prices:

https://www.bostonglobe.com/metro/20...KkJ/story.html

A few key points: poker room is off main floor, not on mezzanine, premier king room $645, and it's unlikely to open early as there is still a ton of regulatory to go through.

I cannot read the Globe article because it is behind a paywall, but the information ITT about the location of the poker room comes from information released by EBH. The Globe could have it wrong, but Encore's press release says the poker room is on the second floor. Not that it matters, we will be able to see it soon enough.

Not including several of the smaller rooms that don’t appear to utilize the Live Table feature on Poker Atlas there are a total of 43 tables running between the NH rooms and Twin River (received their infro from buddy there) as of 9:30pm Thursday night.

No, but 90 min later they still have 12. Mohegan 7 and Foxwoods 16 even with the $400 Flight tournament bustouts coming down. The Woods without a series is completely finished even without Encore.

yep, reread it and it does sound like it's on the second floor:

"The gambling floor is broken up by two large extensions from the mezzanine level – one will be used for high-limit table games and slot machines, the other as the casino’s poker room. A nightclub and a sports bar on the mezzanine will overlook the casino floor."

Ah! See now?
I mean you posted a link to an article that said exactly that, but basically said I was bluffing.

I’m glad that simmered down. Had visions of Lattimer’s next response.

Has there been any info released about the water taxis from seaport/financial district? are they expected to be in operation next month?

No info released yet. I asked Encore on Twitter and they said they will out the schedule soon.

I am still waiting to see what games will be spread but if it is like in LV, it should play much deeper than other venues in New England. It will be great to see all the bad regs used to stack off 100bb with top pair miss to adjust to deeper stacks and get wrecked by sets, etc.

What games will be spread is one thing. If there’s people there daily with a demand for 20/40 Omaha, then they will spread it.

But seems to me you’re talking NL games and the buy in structures.

I was talking NL games for this point, yes.

The MGC held a meeting today to deal with pre-opening issues. As part of that meeting they have a 394 page packet of information on the opening. The water taxis will be part of the opening day transportation options. They will depart from Pier 4 in the Seaport area, stop at Long Wharf and then on to Encore. Schedule is to run from 7:00am to midnight 7 days a week running every 20 minutes during peak times and every 30 minutes off peak. They will not be free, fare is $7. They have to use low profile boats to get under the Rt 99 bridge, apparently they were going to get 4 boats but only 3 are ready so they are leasing another boat from Bay State Cruises until the 4th boat is delivered. These boats can carry up to 35 passengers.

There will also be three shuttle bus routes, one from Wellington, one from Malden, and an Everett shuttle. Also Coaches from Millbury, Rockland, and Londonderry NH.

Other interesting bits, construction is substantially complete. The hotel is complete with the exception of "Curtain Wall" which is listed at 99%. Furniture is complete up to level 27, which I believe is the top floor. Incomplete areas were site work and the parking garage. The parking garage is scheduled to be complete on June 1st, the Porte Cochere on June 3, and the remaining site work on June 10th.

Gaming equipment installation: 3,109 of 3,130 slot machines installed, all 143 non poker table games installed, and 16 of 88 poker tables installed (casino was turned over on 4/29). Retail food and beverage areas were turned over 12/1/18.

Also included in the packet were the first floor plans that I have seen. There are 8 beverage serving stations within the gaming space, one of which is in the poker room. As has been previously mentioned the poker room is on the mezzanine above the main gaming floor. Across from the poker room is the high limit gaming area which also has it's own beverage serving room.

There is a lot more but things are coming together, less than 7 weeks!
