Looks like they don't have any place but the cash room to hold the tournament series tho. Seems like that is going to be a mess if they have a 1M Gtd pool prize and get a large turnout.

When I was there for the soft open my manager friend pointed out a collapsible wall (to the right when you are coming off the escalator) as the additional space for tournaments.

How is the 5/10, 2/5, and 10/20 NLH? Good to bad player ratio? Pro to rec ratio? Are people straddling often? Bomb pots? People drinking? Whales dumping? Nut peddlers or bluffers?

This is what everyone really wants to know lol.

For the commuters. At 12:50 pm on a Tuesday it took me 40 minutes door to door Back Bay Station to Encore via Wellington Shuttle. It took 45 minutes the opposite direction at 6:15pm.

60 seconds from door to poker room. Poker Atlas basically doesn't work if you don't grant the app location permission. Cashiers definitely a work in progress but people are training and learning on a job that is on the line with every transaction. Lots of pressure for someone totally new to Encore standards. Be patient! Same for the dealers, pay attention and help them out. In the 2/2 PLO game they were taking a jackpot for a couple downs before someone noticed LOL. I'll reserve judgement for a couple weeks.

Went to Encore yesterday. Arrived at 3 PM from Lowell. Traffic was a breeze and parking was not an issue. The signs from 93 South have you exit at Rt 16 in Somerville. I assume that's to keep the traffic to a minimum at Sullivan Square.

Poker room is awesome. I didn't play long, but there were no issues with drink service. Play was typical at my table . A few rookies mixed in with regs (1-2 NL).

There were a lot of tables going. Maybe 30. Stud, PLO, Limit Hold-Em were all running. Some high levels too.

Lots of video poker. Dollar machines were 8-5. Five dollar machines were 9-6, full pay. Plenty of other VP varients such as "X", spin poker and others.

Had a coffee and sandwich at Dunks. They do not accept Encore points for purchases.

Left around 9PM and traffic was not an issue. Tons of cops directing the flow at every stop sign, light and rotary.

All in all an awesome vegas-style casino. And only 20 minutes away for me !

Book it lol. I played from 10pm Sunday to 7:30 am on Tuesday and theres no offers. I don't expect to see any offers either.

The only problem I see that is an actual technical issue that isn't related to opening hiccups and rookies is the dealers being specifically forbidden to put a lamer or something in front of a player waiting on a chip runner. I've already seen it cause issues for the dealers when one fails to notifiy the next one, veteran players who come back from the bathroom/lunch or are just new to the table not being alerted to the fact that there's invisible money in play, and to new or new to casino poker players who just don't understand it.

I hope management uses the feedback they've received to improve this problem. Other than that, I can't really call the other things problems until we're about a month in.

I also take back bay to Wellington then shuttle to Encore, I’ve had two round trips and all four times were less than that. Not by a lot but all clocked in under 35 minutes.

It took me 7 minutes from my work to the Encore garage. I'm sooo getting fired within a year.

It’s the same as most places, there will be tight tables and crazy tables, most being both throughout the day. From personal experience and from friends, it seems 2/5 gets much better after 5ish. 1/3 seems to be great action all day.

Lol comparing great cedar with a 5 star resort.
Compare it to the 4 seasons in boston.
Avg room at 4 season is 400 sqft for 500 night avg.
Smallest room is encore is 650 sqft for $640 avg.

I'm agreeing that's it's not great cedar. Wynn is a five star resort that has the finest amenities and anyone looking for a free hotel room from playing small stake slots or poker are crazy.

I just thought of the ONE thing this room does not offer, that both MGM Springfield and Twin River do: A place where you can go to in the room and get your own water/soda/coffee/tea. That would be a great addition.

TRUE, but I believe is the whole service part and pleasing people they want.
Sure you can get up and get your own things but they want to provide it for you since you are a guest.
Once the cocktail waitresses get better is gonna be a breeze. I know they will learn and put more girls in shift. They weren’t expecting so many tables. This I know because I work at the casino. Not the poker room though.
Apparently we can play there as long as we don’t have a gaming license or do anything related to casino work.
I work for the hotel part so I should be golden.

OK cool. The rooms are something else let me tell you.
I went around making sure the iPads and Alexa Vice was working in all the room and I was impressed. The housekeeping are like the best of the best coming even as far from Vegas and Macau etc.
The attention to detail in the cleaning was superb, of course room are brand new and prob easier to clean and maintain but still.
You do not go by one of them without a good morning afternoon etc. Very courteous. This is things I notice and things I hear from guest fyi

Played some 1/3 last night to get accustomed to live play, gonna play higher on my next trip.

The table was relatively tight preflop but obviously terrible postflop. Big(ger) fish came and went until the table lost network connection, and new players weren't seated, so we played shorthanded for some time (half rake if <= 5 players). The dealers and players were all making mistakes, one time the dealer actually misread the winning hand and almost shipped the chips to the 2pair instead of boat.

Uber trip to and from Back Bay was ~$12 each way at 7pm ish.
