You can go all-in on the river in most poker rooms, but at Encore Boston Harbor, the river goes all-in on you!

I actually folded AA in that tables final hand. The 4-seat shoved his $600 stack and I could never call on such a wet board.

I'd guess it is more likely a design flaw. The building was modeled after a design built for a warm, dry desert. Boston is a cold, wet environment. If Encore management is reading this thread, I'd start working on a contingency plan modifications for when the snow starts melting off the roof in March. Good chance nobody thought about ice dams.

It wasn’t raining last night. That volume of water, steadily pouring through multiple light fixtures, is more indicative of a burst or open pipe.

It's literally what they said happened. A pipe failure. Whatever subcontractor responsible for installing or damaging said pipe is not having a stress free weekend.

Are you implying that a multi-billion dollar publicly traded company with nine gaziliion levels of management didn't realize that Boston winters are not like those in Nevada?

This wasn't a Mass Turnpike Authority project. For all of my rants about the poker rooms volume being a massive disappointment the property as a whole is as impressive a structure as one will find which is what you would expect from Wynn Resorts.

The 8/16 mixed game got going strong for several hours tonight, with 6 players to start, increasing to 8. The mix was TSEOBH (I think). Work is going on in the flood area, which is curtained off. There was plenty of action at 2/2 PLO, with several out of towners, at least one here for a conference.

How many tables are out of use?
I’m thinking of heading up for some late night action. I doubt it will be an issue but....

I would estimate 15-20. The walkway from the nightclub is blocked off, and all of the tables on that side, back to where the back wall of the high limit area are unavailable. There are still tables between the walkway and the restrooms, and tables in the balcony area on that side. It seemed like as the tournament wound down yesterday, there were empty tables, so I don't think it will be a problem.

I want to say ~15 tables were in the area that was behind the black curtains yesterday, or ~20% of the room. Even once things dry out, they might be stuck waiting for parts, as from looking at the wires hanging down, I suspect the eyes in the sky didn't fare very well in the deluge. In any case, it was pretty quiet back there, which was nice.

ETA: The curtain yesterday afternoon didn't go all the way back to the edge across from the High Limits, but only roughly to the edge of the back escalator railing, if you can envision that, otherwise Lodden has it right.
