I guess no more issues with paying for parking?

As a poker player, I wish they didn't change it. I fear a lot more people will drive in now.

FWIW, PA still states that poker players need 3 hours of play validated in order to get free parking on the weekends.

Yes, if you are seen playing poker, the parking attendants will flag down your car and make you turn around until you get in your full three hours. Turns out that's what the cameras were for all along.

Went over around 6pm and they no longer even give you a ticket on the way in and even the gates have been taken away so you just stroll on into the parking lot. I hear they updated Twitter and their website around 2pm and implemented the free parking. Some poker players were there at 11am and they did get a ticket on the way in but the gates are no longer there on the way out too.

Lol. Confirmed last night that the parking ticket machines have been removed from the garage entrance. When exiting the garage, the gate will simply raise once your vehicle nears it, with no need to press any button or insert any sort of ticket, red card, etc.

They must have done that quickly. I drove in around 3 pm yesterday and had to take a ticket. Gates going out do lift up automatically today.

It looks like our resident meter maid lost her job, though.

Maybe that's why she hasn't posted lately.

I wish I had given her the undertitle just so I can take it away now.

Confirmed free parking. No ticket coming in, it's taped off and guy is waving people in.

I drove in today, played for two hours, and left, and that was all there was to it. It was glorious! Yeee haw!

Perhaps the free parking might also explain why I perceived an uptick in players at my 1/3 table willing to just sit down, punt off a stack, and leave (although I suppose a few of them may have just been tilted tournament players). Some types always seem to nurse on those second bullets.

Also, I ran into a happy young grinder who told me he caught a whale down at 1/3 Friday night. The dude donked off $4k, and he caught about half of it.

Good things are happening!

Since free parking started the lot seems much busier and full. A lot less vacant spaces but also a bunch of cars driving around like they're lost as things seem to be for newbies looking for best section for the proper elevator etc... I ran into a few families with kids who parked by the North elevator by mistake and I had to direct them to the Resort elevator which is at the very farthest opposite corner of where they were and it is a small walk.

Overall if people seem to be more willing to come in and play for an hour then that is great.

Any $5/$10 players want to comment on how the game's been lately, especially how it compares to Twin River $5/$10 if you play there too?

Any regulars of 1/3 and 2/5 NL can comment on those games as well? I have been playing mostly 2/2 PLO and 2/2 PLO8 when it runs sometimes Thu-Sun and then the rest of the time I'm trying to squeeze in a tourney or even some 20-40 stud.

2/2 PLO is the loosest game with the most action players. 2/2 PLO8 is a very small player pool and getting smaller it seems. 20-40 stud is always going and seems pretty fun. The tourney player pool is huge with all different skill levels doing things that will astonish you.

I'm curious how things have been going at the bread and butter games of 1/3 and 2/5.

Did they change what drinks they comp in the poker room? I was there a couple nights ago and for beer it was literally Bud Light or Heineken only.

Yea it's still free drinks, but they changed it from to opening to just bottom end liquor, house wine, and bud and heineken for the beers.

In the high limit ("VIP") section they offer call drinks for free.

Didn't play since July as work have been crazy. I finally decided to come and play the tourney on Sat (360$ - 30k chips - 30min). How many entrants can I expect? Is there a line for registration?
Any words/rumors about the Encore organizing a tournament series? I would be super interested by it and would probably play them all.

In other news, I got the fruit plate from the poker grill and it was great. Under $10. That little cup of white stuff is yogurt. I was expecting a yogurt bowl with more yogurt than fruit but despite the surprise, I thought this was a great light option.

I was there Monday evening and there were a lot of 1/3 tables running. And at my table a few players that seemed new to poker rotated through. I think I'm gonna crush these games once I learn to recognize potential straights on the board. As it was I ended up breaking even after donking off 500 in a couple hands early.
