For me, they're 2 for 3 on this. Once the guy never bothered to check, but the other two times they did do so. All three times were Sunday afternoon and there was not a crowd at the desk. Of course, YMMV.

I agree with this. They are obsessed with the white tables. I always have one, food or not. I always order 2 drinks at a time as a way to combat potentially slow service but I haven’t had a truly bad server in a while.

Yea the little rolling tables are amazing to have, I use one all the time even when not eating just to not have to keep so much stuff in my pockets since I don't want to bring a manbag or anything

I've always had luck with speedy food service but drinks I would say 75% of the time I never get my drink or it takes forever and 25% it is the way it is supposed to be around 5-15 mins to return with the drink(s). Tip amount does not affect reliability or speed of drink service. I've had neighbors tip $5 a drink and get the same service as $1 tippers.

Poker comps: Are now available for use at casual food outlets. (Poker Grill, Bru, Garden Cafe, On Deck Burger Bar, Red 8, & The Buffet). Please see Poker personnel for information on how to activate your comps. (Must be done before purchase). Thank you all for your patience with this matter.

Anyone do this yet? Does this mean we just have to activate once and then we're good to go? I hope/doubt it requires it every time.

I am speculating here, but it's probably similar to how MGM does it. where I go up to floor, tell them I'm going to go eat and would like x amount of points for a meal. They activate it and off I go. Maybe someone can confirm or deny the process at encore Boston harbor?

Went to Poker Room RedCard desk this AM to check on comp dollars for the above-mentioned restaurants, am told Card can only be used at Poker Grill, talk to a floor person who confirms this misinformation. Floor person hunts down “Martin” who comes to the front desk, makes several hits on computer keyboard and supposedly puts 50 comp dollars on my Card to be used @ On Deck Burger Bar. Eat at Burger Bar, present RedCard, no comp dollars on Card. Burger Bar Mgr. goes to Poker Room & talks to Martin. She returns & tells me that they are still trying to work out glitches, but ok’s my comped meal with the idea that eventually 30 comp dollars will be deducted from my Card to cover the cost of the meal.

That was my experience. Interested to hear of others. Stay tuned.

Who would have guessed such a modern casino with so many things done so well could make the comp system so needlessly complicated

This is how it worked when I played at Encore Vegas last Fall. I had to go back to the poker room and ask floor to activate my comps then go back to restaurant to have them apply it to my bill.

Only 32 1/3 NL games? Yeah that room is finished.

Would be curious to know how often casual/new players even use their comps, or if it's even worth it for Encore to have comps for poker players at all. I've certainly put in less live hours than most of this thread (maybe 500ish lifetime at 1/2, 1/3NL or limit games up to 10/20), but cannot recall a casual player ever mentioning comps/using comps at the table.

$1/hr with the prices here is really not much. Played 10 hours to pay for half my salad lol.

I know of players who have played over 700+ hours at encore. So it can add up.

Well that’s like 3/4 of a salad per day!

Completely baffling how they would post that everything is working and then it is a still a crap show when someone actually tries to use the comps. I'm going to try and go get a noodle soup at Red 8 the next time I go just to see how screwed up it will be and report back. I'm expecting none of the Red 8 cashiers will know anything of this.

Whats the typical buy in for this game? I'd love to play some mixed games but they're pretty new to me.

Anyone up for another one soon?

Most bought in for $400, which is 2 racks of pink/salmon $2 chips. Might be fun to try and get it going Sunday's as a regular thing.

Nice, thanks for posting about the tourney. I wish the chip stack were bigger since they're using a Big Blind ante, but I might play someday anyway.
