Anyone know if they will be running any 1/1 or 1/2 NLH games? According to Poker Atlas they are offering 1/1 NLH in theory, but so far they never had a 1/1 table actually running. I assume that like me, many rec players on a budget feel a bit out of their comfort zone buying in for 300$...

Someone at my table Sunday night said he asked at the desk about 1/2 and was told that if there was enough interest they would run it. He was trying to get us all to go tell the desk we were interested.

MGM runs a 100-500 1/2NL game and no one ever complains it is out of their budget.

Most don't buy in for $500 either. This is my observation, so I think a $300 cap here is fine.

A 300$ cap for a 1/3 game if fine (and perhaps even a bit on the low side). I wasn't talking about the cap. I was talking about the blinds. If there was a 1/2 game with a 300$ cap I would feel perfectly fine buying in for 200$, but buying in for less then 300$ in a 1/3 game fells silly.

Seems like I picked a great time to quit poker indefinitely. Encore Boston Harbor Casino (Everett, MA) - FAQ in OP Enjoy the money I was going to take out of this poker room 2+2ers, and fare thee well.

No reason to feel silly. Buy in for $100, or whatever you’re comfortable with.

Couldn’t of picked a worse time. Might want to reconsider.

Played 1/2 @ the Nugget in Vegas which has an uncapped buy in. Didn’t see anyone buying in for a huge amount. Even if they did, who cares?

Hadn’t noticed the 1/2 on PA. (Currently unable to log on to PA). Encore Las Vegas’ smallest NL game is 1/3, for whatever that’s worth.

It's not like I feel silly because I'm embarrassed. I would feel silly buying in for 100$ into a 1/3 game because this puts me in a disadvantage vs. players with 100+ big blind stacks. not a whole lot of wiggle room when the standard 1st bet is for ~10% of your stack.

Plenty of parking yesterday and I haven’t heard anyone complain about having trouble parking.

Just finished a 9 hour session. Here is my TR
I guess I’ll start with getting to Wellington Station. There was already a shuttle bus at the stop but they were not letting anyone on even though there was a pretty long line. 5 minutes later another shuttle bus pulls up and we all pile in. After being seated fir a few minutes, they told us this wasn’t the shuttle we would be using either. Luckily, right then another bus pulls up. It was about a 10 minute drive to the casino
On my way I sign up for a seat on poker atlas. When I arrived in the poker room, my name was not on the list. I show them my verification and the guy just kept repeating himself, “there hasn’t been any problems with poker atlas”. Whatever, just put me on the list.
The cage and the red card lines were soooo craaaaaazzy slow. It’s like the cashiers hadn’t ever counted cash or chips before. There were 8 people behind the cage but only 2 were doing anything.
After a 15-20 minute wait, I’m called to a new game.
Action is insanely good. People overvaluing top pair and the chips were flying.
Drink service is soooo slow. We didn’t even see a waitress for the first hour. The do have a nice “cleavage window”. Thanks for the awesome new term for my vocabulary Mind Reader.
The bathrooms are the nicest bathrooms I’ve ever seen in a casino. Doors and walls go to the floor. They use actual soft, quilted toilet paper. There is also a full time attendant
They only give you 30 minutes to eat =\
So I walked over to On Deck and ordered a burger to go. Was quoted 20 mins. I walked back to my table and returned 20 minutes later. Basically the next 30 minutes are a big cluster**** that ends with them giving me a refund but also not the burger I ordered. $18 for a blah burger that did not include fries or a pickle.
There was only one incompetent dealer at my table and one who should be fired for how openly hostile he was to patrons.
Dealers can call string bets at Encore
I heard two diff things concerning the bbj timeline. The one thing that was agreed on is that each hand will have its own progressive bbj starting with quad 2s.
My main concern with this place is that when something went wrong, the attitude was just like, “oh well” Encore Boston Harbor Casino (Everett, MA) - FAQ in OP
I ended up taking my chips with me as both cages were severely backed up.
It took me 2 hours and 4 modes of transportation to and from the casino but I’m still glad I didn’t go to Foxwoods.

IMO, you are not disadvantaged at all by being “short stacked” in a cash game. In fact you probably have the advantage over the larger stacks, again IMO.

Thanks for report.
Fwiw, didn't I read that parking is free until the 7/1?
You could have driven maybe.
Full disclosure, I still haven't visited. Family in town.
Hope the action is still as loose as everyone is saying when I get around to getting there.

Yes parking is free until 7/1. That’s not why I didn’t drive.
55 tables on a Tuesday night at 10pm. I think it’s fair to say the action will still be there

I play once in a while at the Sands in PA, and to this day, the cage is still slow...Some workers treat the $1000 I want in chips like I am handing them a million dollars...I hope it gets better for Encore.

Sorry I forgot to add that cell reception is so bad in the casino. I couldn’t send or receive pictures or make a call. When I mentioned this someone said I must have AT&T(he did as well) but I don’t know if it’s limited to that carrier or not

Does anyone know if the menus to the restaurants are posted anywhere online?

* The seat should only be locked up if there is a shorter game running or the player notifies dealer he will be returning in which case he has a minimal amount of time (10 min is standard forgot to confirm this part).

* There are no seat change buttons. Anyone can request to move if there is no resistance however if another player(s) also wants the seat it will go to the player who is actively logged in at that table the longest (your time does not accumulate when in lobby). Once you move you do NOT lose your time slot for future order of preference.

* Dinner/break time is limited to 30 minutes with Dinner Reseating extended to 90 min. When you go on DR you are supposed to log in your stack size should it exceed the table max of your game and return to table with full stack if you return within 90 minutes.

* Not a single USB charger was working at my table. Maybe this was to make the Foxwoods clientele feel at home. :-)
It was a floor, he did not mention, as stated above, about “anyone who wants to move can”, or “tables with less players”. He just said the new player to the table gets the seat. 🤷🏾*♂️

14hr session just wrapped up... started at 8am ended 11pm... the action from like 3/4pm on was insane. Something like 15 2/5 tables running on a Tuesday night.

Service is terribad only because it seemed like the girls were super short staffed. Many people at the table were freaking out over drink wait times lol was amusing. Some dealers are low key geniuses and others should be either let go or re assigned to a different game.

One brutal half hour with a Dealer with the first letter <snip> was legit the worst I've ever seen a dealer perform.
And then the next would be an absolute animal.

Going back asap. Park at Wellington and take the shuttle imo... shuttle waiting for me when I got off the train/ left the casino both ways.

Poker isn't dead.

“Online wait list registration is now available for most games. $1-3 NLH will be available soon.”
Hoping this will be in effect for the weekend! Booked a decent room in Woburn for Saturday only 15 minute drive to the casino.

Any craft beers available at the table? Do they serve bottles or only draft?
