I've been to Twin twice in 5 months lol. It's an awful place to be I was only responding to the posts about how everyone is at Encore and nobody is leaving due to its awesomeness. Many I know spent several weeks there and most have left to return to Twin, Chasers, Foxwoods, and one of the most respected I know returned all the way to Mohegan. Me? I'm everywhere my work takes me and in Boston quite a bit.

No one who has a decent commute is choosing any other room that Encore. I get it the out of state people expected free rooms, cheap food, parking etc but don’t act for a second it’s a better option. Enjoy your rooms and please continue posting in those threads. It’s laughable listening to how entitled and naive people are

It is inevitable that everything will be at Encore, it might just take a few more months or up to two years. Natural state of evolution while Encore fixes any issues they have but it is like MySpace's numbers after FaceBook came out or the number of users of FireFox after Chrome came out or Blackberries after iPhones came out. It isn't like the number or MySpace, FireFox, or Blackberries went to zero 2 months after FaceBook, Chrome, or iPhones came out but they simply got phased out. If a room has two 2/5 NL games and one 5/10 game then you simply do not want to be there. It is almost 5pm on a Sun now and the have 6 2/5 and a 5/10 and a 10/20 game going at Encore and last night they had multiple 5/10 and 10/20's.

They have 74 tables now removing the 14 in the tournament room for low limit blackjack/slots. On a typical Fri and Sat night all tables are 100% being used except for a few in the middle section where all the $8/half hour time games are like 20/40 Stud/Mix or 5-5 PLO.

The management simply do not like the limit players because they do cause a lot of problems but they're still customers.

Big argument last night with the floor because they opened a 2nd PLO8 2-2 table and both were full for about 90 minutes but then things started falling apart and we were both playing 6 handed and some of the players at the main/first game didn't like that. Another 30 mins later we had a table of 9 so the 2nd game allowed them to rake money for 2 hours.

I understand they don't have to do anything like lower the time to $6/$7 per half hour to get all the Stud games from Foxwoods but that middle section is just a ghost town for now. It is a beautiful place to play, so much room and so comfortable.

$8/half hour? Did they change it fairly recently? I've never paid less then $9/half at 5/10 in the high limit room and $10/half at 10/20 in the VIP room.

It is $8/half hour for 5/5 PLO and the 20-40 LHE/Stud/O8/Mix in the middle section. $9 for 5/10 and $10 for higher is what I think.

That is correct. They actually lowered it from $9 to $8 for 20/40 Stud/O8/LHE/Mix after a few weeks but 5/5 PLO stayed at $9 and games in VIP area are all $10.

What sequence of events has to happen that between noon and night that your hair wouldnt be in a faux hawk?

I know sit and gos are pretty dead but do you guys think encore would consider running some? Do you think there would be any interest? I’d love to seen 200-500 dollar pens with reasonable structures go.

I always thought sng's would be a great idea for practice/training their dealers too and a $200 + $15 9 handed would be a good start and players can negotiate whatever they want to do with the $1800. Some do winner take all some do a chop HU or 3 handed etc... and there are always side bets like last longers or anything else players come up with.

Sit n Gos are still a little popular at the Rio during WSOP because you can 10x your money or more. Typical sng will be $260 + $15 and the winner gets $2600 (they are 10 handed) and there are all kinds of deals when it is short handed to chop, chip chop, ICM chop, etc... but there will be side bets like HU last longers, table last longers, etc... anything where the house doesn't get a rake and it is very fun and exciting because it all takes less than 2 hours to win and most of the time under 90 mins. It gives people the feel of playing a tournament without committing 12+ hours like a Rio Daily or multiple days like a bracelet event.

First trip there yesterday. I was not impressed with it.

The dealer quality and cash cage continue to improve. Drink service is still mixed, but I can live with it as long as the games stay as good as they are.

I'd like to know what room you're more impressed by.

Any badugi or 2-7 resources you can recommend? Other than a pat nut low, I really don't even know what good starting hands are in triple draw games.

Foxwoods is decent. Encore I was just not impressed with overall place. Smaller then I thought, dealers weren't great, floor people seemed incompetent, need runners to fill chips at table. $2per minute massage girl... most expensive i ecer saw. Massachusetts never seems to get anything right

Edit: Oooops didn’t see your follow up post. I guess it is the holy grail for 1/3NL and 2/2PLO from what I’ve heard but if you’re playing other games 2/5, 5/10+ it simply isn’t special from a games perspective. Athletically it is obv the nuts.

Yes the building itself is nice. Just nothing impressive about the rest of it. I was talking to the massage girl and asked her what food was good and she told me she hasn't heard anything good about any place except sinatras. The 2-2plo game was fine. Just nothing impressive about the place I haven't seen before. And terrible to get there by car
