So is this the only garage? I'm out of state hence my asking. Is this the absolute closest parking to the poker room, or is a valet drop-off first, closer?

Also, they are allowing you to have someone sit behind, correct?

How's the room temp... a/c I'm assuming but do you need a jacket / sweater even this time of year? What about Smoking areas?

I saw 10$/30min for 5-10 and 9$/30 at 10/20... what about the rake for the lower games? BBJ information?

I'm planning my first day of what will hopefully be 40+hrs a week on Wednesday so if these dont get answered I'll come back and answer them... excited over here.

What's the deal with "resort causal" for the buffet. Showing up in shorts/tshirt and a hoodie no good? I assume if I got the green they won't turn me away but how out of place would I be? I am unfamiliar with places in which there is a modicum of class.

Do they match status from MGM or other casinos?

As for hotel rates, some of you guys need to learn how casinos and hotels work. Dumpy casinos here in Atlantic City list their rooms for 500+ and they are basically dingy road side motel quality and they list their rooms at 500-600. Do people pay that much? No, hardly anyone does.

I saw two pics posted on Instagram where there was clearly a lady seated behind her man while he was playing.

Wynn Resorts does not have tier status levels like others do. You can sign up for your Red Card when you arrive.

My turn to give a quick trip report:

I took the water shuttle at 11AM on the seaport. No lines at all. The boat are very good looking. It took a total of 30-40 minutes to get to Long Wharf then to reach the Encore. The boat was going very slowly and I hope they will go faster in the future. Still, not much to complain about. When you don't want to use Uber because of rush hour and don't want to use the T because you hate it, the water shuttle is great.

I got to the property at 11:40AM. Lined up about 40 minutes to get in, which didn't really bother me (I hear all the reader "you lined up to get into a casino, hahhaa!").

The property is of course really good looking. Top of the line casino. Since it was the opening it was packed and a bit hard to walk around but it won't be like this forever.

The poker room looks awesome. Lots of space between tables. Seats seems comfy. Despite being the opening, the lines were moving very fast (almost no waiting line). I saw tons of empty tables with dealers waiting. Also the room is visible as it overlooks the whole floor. It means it should make the game attractive for rec players.

I saw many reg faces I know in the room. From Twin River, Foxwoods, Chasers, etc. It didn't make me super happy and I hope we will have a bunch of rec players too.

I did not play and went there only to scout the place. Will be putting my first session Thu eve or next week end. Will tell you guys more then.

Finally, I left using Uber at around 3PM. The Uber took a while getting in the property but once done I was quickly picked up and no traffic getting out.

All in all, very positive experience. I think poker over there will be great!

Temp seemed OK to me and I didn't hear anyone else complaining. Of course, 50,000 patrons create a lot of heat, so maybe it'll be on the chillier side on a normal day, but it helps that the room is elevated. I'm sure it ain't gonna be like the Rio or anything: no parkas required.

If you exit the poker room to the east, there's a balcony that wraps around the casino floor and past a burger joint there's a small smoking/vaping veranda. far enough away that if I left the table after playing from the cut-off, and dodged all the looky-loos taking photos from said balcony, I'd be back just in time to miss my big blind. Nice view of the Tobin and a large sign reminder that if you go busto, the place across the street will happily purchase any scrap metal you come across so you can get back in the action.

At 1/3 we seemed to be hitting the full $5 rake any time two players remotely flopped some semblance of a hand. They aren't offering a bad beat jackpot yet, for all the reasons Springfield didn't for the first month or so either.

A 1-3 dealer said the rake is 10% with a cap at $5, and they are also collecting for the bbj which should start in 10 to 14 days. He said they are going to have 14 different bbjs based on what the band is.

I'm not clear on the last part. Does anyone know about this, or how they typically work? Like, if you have quad 2s beaten, is it a separate jackpot for each winning hand type? Or do they get more specific than that, like quad 2s beaten by quad 9s is a different pot than quad 4s beaten by 9s?

Now that I type it out, it seems like the first thought is more likely since there are so many combinations the other way...

Is anyone at Encore right now? Can you confirm that there are three [3] $50-$100 NL games running right now? I feel like this has to be an error. There weren't 3 $50/100 NL games running in vegas when I was there last week.

Maybe this question is out of place and forgive my ignorance.
Does the 4/8 Omaha mean hi lo?
Is that why it's not referred to as plo?
And is it limit?

Only ever played it online.

Yes it is Limit Omaha. $2 sb, $4 bb, $4 bet/raise pre-flop and flop, $8 bet/raise turn and river.

And yes it should be hi/lo split

This game used to be a staple at Foxwoods

Heading down there now.

I have to admit, I was REALLY hoping for the 1/3 game to be a $500 buy-in

TL;DR: Great room with some early kinks that will hopefully be worked out in a couple weeks.

Was staying at a local hotel fairly close. Parked at hotel, took Uber from hotel to Encore around 1pm, not much traffic at all. Waited in the long line outside for a good 30-40 minutes just to get in. Easy check in at the poker room. Signed up for 5/10 and 10/20 NL. One game going at the time for 10/20 and then they called a must move 2nd table 10/20 game.

Chip runners can't take more than $1k without a red card. I didn't have mine so went up to cashier cage with my drivers license. They couldn't find I had a red card. I know I did. So told me to go wait in the 20 person red card line. Waited in line, scanned my DL, and low and behold, I have a red card, no kidding. Then back to cashiering cage to finally get my chips for the 10/20 game 30 minutes later.

Must move never got above 6 people and eventually broke. Played 5/10 until named called for main 10/20 game. Some dealers good. Some literally their first day and didn't know how to deal, collect time, etc. Very very mixed. But hopefully will improve with time.

Service in the VIP was overall excellent. All food and drink servers must go right past the tables to get the food and drink, so always was someone available.

10/20 game was solid, lots of players I've seen around at various rooms. Went until around 3am then broke. 4-5 5/10 games going all day and night. That's not seen very many places anywhere in the world.

Cashiering: Again. Cashing out chips took 30+ minutes. Super long line and VERY slow behind the cage. None of them knew how to use the computer system so each one was waving down the manager for help.

Setting: 10 handed in main room, 9 handed in VIP room. Decent room between tables in main room, super spread out in VIP room. Comfortable chairs, USB ports, stuff we knew. Mezzanine, good and bad. Good is nice and open, can see whole floor, very open feeling. Bad is the casino music and casino itself is very loud, tough to hear dealer and other players. Not sure if there's a solution.

Filled out application to safety deposit box. Said they'd let us know in 1-2 months. $300 refundable deposit.

Until next time...

PS - Backpacks: Several red coats told people with backpacks not to bring them next time they won't be allowed in. Women basically any size purse they want it seemed like. I had a very small hiking backpack and had a "discussion" with a red coat about what size is allowed versus not allowed..
