Hi there,

I'm visiting Detroit next weekend and I'm looking to play some poker for a few hours on Sunday night. Are any of the casinos busy on Sunday nights or should I make the drive to Windsor? (Based on what I've read here, it seems that MCC is the way to go if I were to choose a downtown casino option). My host is partial to Windsor, but I'd prefer to minimize drive time / waiting at the border.

Any advice would be appreciated.

MCC most likely for action. Then Greektown. Then MGM. No Tigers game next Sunday so not as many randoms. I wouldn't bother wasting time with Windsor. You could get some end of weekend traffic at the border. Spending a additional commute time for a couple of hours of play plus currency conversion plus tolls plus dealing with personal questions from Federal Agents from two countries doesn't really make sense to me. If you do go, don't forget your passport.

So I didn't grow up around here, but how the **** is that the "west side"? It's east of downtown, north as all hell ... or do you just mean the west side of the *street*?

I wouldn't bother with Windsor if you're on a short schedule. The casino is nice (smoke free), but you're going to pay $10 in tolls, $5/$100 or so in currency exchange, and spend additional time dealing with the agents. At a busy time it could take you a half hour to get through. Windsor's nice if you can go for an overnight. Then the last few times I've been there there haven't been too many tables running, game seems filled with reg-nits.

On a pretty much any day I'd agree that MCC will have the most tables running. Don't agree about Greektown vs MGM though. The last couple of times I've been to GT they've been pretty slow, and their dealers/floorstaff all suck pretty hard. MGM has been reasonably busy on Sundays with the big BBJ, and their staff is much better than the mouth breathers at GT.

I'll defer to your observations. They sound more current and informed than my somewhat dated experience. But on a Tigers or Wings Game Day would you still expect random traffic to be higher @ G'town?

Not a baseball fan, but when I go to hockey games I park at GT and take the tram. Seems to be a good number of people that do the same and then stick around and play a bit. Most days when I go play I go to MGM (don't like the wait or the smoke at MCC, or the idiot staff at GT). There seems to be some additional traffic from Lions games and Tigers games, but I don't go to GT often enough to really say how much more additional traffic they get. Every time I go to GT on a random Friday or Sunday, they have fewer tables than MGM on a comparable day.

New phone again... my Droid RAZR M decided it wanted to fly out of my vest on the bike at 80mph. He didn't survive.

Krazy Kopz looks like they are trying to put together a team tourney soon. Has anyone played these and are they any fun? I'll have to find when the next one is and try to toss a team together.

I played in one of the team tourney at ES. It was fun except on of my teammates was one of the first 5 out for calling someone's all in with AK. If you actually get a chance to go deep it would be fun.

Momo's $100 structure seems good, 25k chips 30 min blinds.

i'd like to see the exact blind levels, but yeah, the 30 min. levels is nice. I could see there being a lot of bad players at this.
