Vision Lanes trip report:
First time I've been to this room since Electric Stick burned down. They've really improved it. It's twice the size it was before after knocking down the wall into that arcade room. More TV's on the wall, I was impressed with the change, used to consider it to be the dirtiest room I've played in.
Tonight was the pick your poison tourney, you can buy in anywhere from $20-$50, receiving 10k per $10. I bought in for the minimal $20 since I'm not feeling rich these days.
Decided to play a little tighter than usual, given my stack size. I attempted to play in position as much as possible and out of position as little as possible. Obviously most players try to this anyway, but this was the first time in a while I've consciously told myself to do avoid playing out of position.
Stack: 20k
Blinds 25/50

The first hand I play I have K
9
in the CO. One player limps and I raised to 300. Both Blinds and the limper calls.
Flop: A

It's checked to me and I bet 700. Both blinds call, the limper folds.
Turn: 2
It's checked to me once more and I bet 2,000. The small blind raises to 4,000, with about 10,000 behind. Big blind folds, I call.
River: K
Small blind checks quickly. I bet 4,000 and he calls pretty quickly. I announce two pair and he winces, flashes an Ace, and mucks.

I raise with J

from the HJ after one limper. Everyone folds to the limper and he calls.

Limper checks, I bet 1,000, he calls.
Turn: 5
He checks, I bet 2,000. He ponders for 10 seconds before calling.

He checks, I check behind. He says "Drat!" and turns over 57o and drags the pot.

I decided to play this one tricky and check behind after both limpers checked to me.
Turn: 2
UTG checks, +1 bets 4,000. I flat. UTG shoves, having both of us covered. +1 folds, I call and am up against QQ. I hold and double up to about 55k.

+1 raises to 1800. MP calls, I elect to call from the BB with A

I check/called a 3200 chip c-bet, MP decided to get out of the way.
Turn: 9
I checked, +1 bets 3200 again. I decide I definitely have the best hand but I feel like raising never keeps a worse hand in, so I call.

Not my favorite card, as a lot got there. I was torn between check/calling and bet/folding, and chose to check/call. +1 checked behind and said "Your AQ is good" and showed QJ. Not happy with how I played this hand, but won so I can't complain too much.

in CO. One player limps, I raise to 2.5k, BTN calls, as does the limper.
Flop: A

Limper checks, I bet 3k, BTN calls, limper folds.
Turn: 9
I checked hoping for some pot control and I didn't like blasting off with top pair mediocre kicker not knowing where I'm at in the hand. He checked behind.
River: K
I checked and he snap shoved for about 22k. I did not see this coming and started talking to him a little bit.
Me: You must have two pair...
Him: You have two pair?
Me: No you must have two pair...
Him: Ah alright...
We talk a little more, I say I can really only beat a bluff, and he laughs a little bit. His laughter seemed like nervous laughter, not comfortable laughter. I decided to go with it and called a few seconds later. He shows J
2
and I am now up to about 95k and am CL of my table.
After this I was pretty card dead, we got down to two tables since the previous hand I mentioned and I've hardly played a hand.
Blinds: 3,000/6,000
Stack 82k

I'm on the button with A
A
. Table CL with about 120k raises to 16k and it folds to me. I really felt like I don't get any action with a shove and a small 3bet seemed transparent so I slowplayed it and flatted. BB came along as well.
Flop: Q

It was checked to me and I shoved for my remaining ~66k. BB tank called and CL folded. BB showed Q
9
and I was looking to hold.
Turn Q

I barely had BB covered and was left with 5k. Worst part was she said the classic, "I thought you had a Q with a bigger kicker!" Sigh then why did you call? I got it all in soon with AA again and tripled up, but busted a few hands later shoving my 3 bigs with J8s and losing to A9o.
Overall I enjoyed myself. Had some decent table talk and feel I played fairly well.
