Played at Greektown yesterday, only 1 - 1/2 nlhe table and a 3/6 halfkill limit holdem game. Sat for just over an hour at 1/2, bought in with 160 cashed for 290. Action was pretty week and too many short stacks.

MGM yesterday, got there at 9pm and got a seat right away, three tables running $1/2. 4th table opened about a half hour later and only ran for about 2 hours before breaking. There was a while where all three tables were sitting about 6-7 handed and the old guys were bitching about how short the games were (Live 6-max FTW!). 2 nearly full tables when I left at 3am.

Oh and a $218k BBJ ...

I know it was a Sunday but that sounds pretty slow. Is it usually like that?

Okay, so Boutrous, cmuguy420, zilla and I are in for 4%/5%. Boutrous, are you collecting from all of us?

Anyone else want the other 1% before we wrap this block up?

I was there too from 5:30 to 6:30 digesting sushi. It got short handed on all tables except one, so I decided to leave.

I did leave up $84, but it should have been a little more. I ended up in positions twice where I raised with the middle of my range only to get shoved on by short stacks who limped/shoved with middle pairs and held. They just don't have enough for a full raise or to match half the pot, so you're like calling off $50 at a time in straddled pots knowing you have to improve. Meh.

Dealers do seem better now that they can keep their own tips. One, Samer, is really fast and gets a lot of hands in per down. Still, not enough action for them to keep coasting. They need some promotion and they would do well filling their hotel and restaurant areas with a tour or big satellite. Pretty sure they won't do it.

Sundays are hit or miss. This was definitely slower than usual though.

I've played there for years and it has just been getting slower and slower. But I don't understand why. The staff and facility are just as good as they've always been (not amazing, but still pretty good). Fridays used to be packed to capacity all night, Sundays would run 4-6 games and usually one would be a $2/5 ... now there's 1-2 open *tables* on Friday and fewer games on Sunday.

The only thing that I can think of is a maybe a year and a half (2?) ago when the really big game disappeared. It was a $500/$1500 game, whateverthe**** that meant, $5/$10 I presume. I was away for a big chunk of the summer and when I got back the game was just *gone*, and with it a bunch of the crazy spewy players. I've heard differing accounts as to some manager telling the room to stop spreading the game and/or some of the players getting banned ... but nothing that I'd consider truth.

If MCC had a really big room (think Borgata/Venetian) and they were just really busy it'd make some sense, but when MCC still has a small room and a long list I don't understand where the overflow is going.

I had figured there might be a few more people with the Tigers game and all.

Same was my dealer for part of my time, he seemed pretty good and friendly. I was glad to see they bet their own tips. The two "coupon" promotions aren't really going to get me to keep coming back.
