Queen of Hearts had 20 runners today for their $250. I called it on the nose!!

so, Four Aces, $100 buy in. 49 runners. Really great tournament. So much play. 50k in chips, 20 min. levels. lots of levels. didn't get crazy till the jump from 1k2k to 2k4k and even then it went to 3k6k, 4k8k, 5k10k, 6k12k....very nice structure. also, re entries allowed for one hour, i like that.

i was at table 2 seat 4 from the start until the FT, then I was in seat 4 there as well. I was up and down the whole way, got realllllly lucky when I shoved 10bbs w/ A7 from the button, sb had A10, i four flushed. at that point there were like 15 players left....
Final table, I made a nice call.... down to 5 of us. i have like 18bbs, i have 66 first to act. i make it 2.5x or something. guy to my left, who has about 20bbs, calls. everyone else folds. flop is 2 8 9. i check... he shoves. i tank. this guy has been shoving a lot, showing everything from the nuts down. i call eventually, he had fives.
down to 3, woman that was pretty easy to read and this guy that was very good... we finally got here out and then chopped 1st/2nd, we were pretty even in chips. $1200 each or so.

i gotta say, the players in this were terrible. i mean really bad. 3 terrible players for every good one. in the first level this woman flopped the nut straight once and then trips another time, she led out for 25k both times when blinds were 50 100!!!

they're having this same tournament the next 3 saturdays, then they are closing! bowling alley was sold i guess. they're trying to transfer to the poker room to a new facility, gl w/ that w/ the state being such pricks right now....

Grants bro! Going to try to run out there next weekend.

so i drive up there to play for 7 hours only to get outdrawn with aces. i took it like a pro and tapped the felt, wished the table good luck on day 2, and threw my chair to the floor as i took my leave. last call was fast approaching so i got double drinks from all 3 liquor vendors and headed STRAIGHT to my car for the 3 hour drive home, cause i was pretty drowsy already, having not gotten much sleep because i was doing some stuff the night before and of course my tournament ritual of fasting from food all day during gametime™ wasn't helping the situation (the hunger pains make live poker slightly less boring!).

so i made it like 40 minutes home and i'm just so jacked from losing with ****ing aa that i gotta do something. and as i'm driving along 127 south surfing the internet on my phone and daydreaming about things i could be doing right now, i notice a rest stop and normally im like **** reststops i'll pee in a gatorade but it was like after 2am and there were loads of trucks all parked with their lights on, like headlights so i'm like hey trucker party i bet truckers are really cool, this is probably the time of night when all the truckers let loose and hang with strangers, we used to party the **** outta parking lots in highschool, this isn't weird at all. so i roll up and i don't see anybody yet, but there's a park bench and i'm like '**** ya let's get this **** started' and take a seat and start chainsmoking cigarettes alone. nobody's coming over. nobody's even walking around, it's a ****in bitchfest. so i start going up to some of the trucks with all their lights on, and in the last one i checked there was this dude in there, like late 20s early 30s white dude, just straight up doin whippits. so i knock on the glass, and i make like a pantomime of myself having a wild party doing whippits, it's tough to explain. but he let me in and we did whippits for a while and i told him about how i got sucked out on with A ****ing A in the heartland MAIN, and he was like 'omg wow that's sick, do you wanna bang?' and im like 'no dude! i'm on whippits right now i can't be making these kind of decisions!' and i got freaked out and left. and then i kinda wandered around the rest stop for a while, just admiring the metal pieces of the trucks and leaning on things, mostly.

and because of all this i rate BOTH the 2013 heartland poker tour and soaring eagle casino a miserable 1/5 stars.

well if it's any consolation, it was scheduled to pay the top 6 (already over 10%), 6th was $240 and they all wanted to pay three bubbles $100 each. i was the only one that said no and they were pissed. (i agreed to pay 1 bubble w/ 7 left when i was the short stack....) had a giant african american gentleman come up to me afterward and explain to me how everyone there knew each other and how it wasn't cool that i declined their triple bubble chop offer. dude wasn't even playing i don't think...
