I am too much of a nit to play Omaha, though.. so don't count me in!
The problem is that unfortunately outside of the 10-15 people that regularly contribute in this thread, no one else is willing to play any of those games. I would love to play stud somewhere, but that seems like the most unlikely game out of the above mentioned mix.

It would be nice for them to maybe add a charity for a 2/5 hold em game.

You'd be surprised. When we took our PLO8 to Snookers- we had about 5-6 people starting a table, then management made an announcement over the mic, and 3-4 people would sit down in it immediately, and a few stragglers would comet throughout the night. This happened every time the game played. You would be surprised how many people enjoy the different games, or just want a change of pace when their pocket queens get cracked back to back by 97o or something similar.

As for stud, yeah, hard to find those people. The problem is you have one guy at Northville downs who'd play, two guys at Snookers, one guy at 4 Aces (the cardrooms are all irrelevant), but it's hard to get everyone together for it. The mixed games thing we had run at Greektown was fun, even though the management there was very poor (that's being nice).

Hey Suited Dueces, I was at Snookers last night playing Plo. There was a full table the whole time I was playing (4 hours). We should get the Plo8 running up there again! Obv there is a demand for games other than 1/2 nlhe... And there are plenty of people up there that will buy in multiple times into the same game.

I'm sure if they get enough interest they will spread 2-5 NLHE. There were a couple names & Phone numbers under 2-5 NLHE. As stated previously, i'm a total nit so I wont be playing 2-5 until I have a substantially larger roll.

O8 has already seen this.

Had an interesting Session recently. I'll refrain from posting the Venue because I don't think I played very well (passive) and I think at least one of the "Villains" at my table may have been a 2+2-er.

I play guitar with a couple of guys. We were playing a "gig" (not a real gig, more of a Jam Session) a couple of weeks ago and packed up at about 11:30. After playing on stage, I'm always a little amped up (literally!). On my way home I decided that I felt like playing a few orbits of Poker. Just a slight detour and I was at one of the local "Charity" Rooms. They were still wrapping up a tourney and had 2 or 3 1/2 NL tables going.

I decided to buy in a little short for $100 and took a seat. In the very first orbit, I see AQ Hearts from mid position. The cap and other paraphernalia of the guy on my immediate right makes me peg him as a former On-Line LAG (OLLAG). That will come into play later in the session. On this hand he opened for $10. Still getting a feel for the table, I call. Two more callers, including the Button. Flop 986 all Hearts. Yahtzee! LAG leads out for $20. I call intending to reraise if anyone raises. Fold to Button who insta shoves. LAG folds, I call with the current Nuts. Button shows 96 for flopped Top & Bottom. Board goes runner-runner 8s and his two full houses beat my "Nut" flush. Button says: "Wow, I got lucky." Ya think?

Reload.

Buy in short for $100 again. A few hands later I'm sitting on $88 on the Button. K9 Hearts. I make it $10. One player and another On-Line looking guy (OLLG#2) who is apparently dating the dealer calls from late position. Flop J 9 2 Two Hearts. Check to OLLG#2 who leads out for $15 into $30 pot. I call $15 to win $45. Random guy folds. Turn is a Black Ten giving me a gut-shot to go with my Flush Draw. OLLG#2 bets $30 into the $60 pot. I decide to shove for $63 total (yeah, I know). He calls and Shows J 4 for top pair, lousy kicker. I can't find a King, Queen, or Heart and I bust for the second time in about ten minutes.

I consider calling it a night, but I haven't even finished a beer yet.

Reload for $200 this time.

After a heater that included Flopping Set over Set (My Queens vs, some lady's sixes), pocket aces, and hitting a Straight with 5 8 against the First OLLAG, I'm sitting Even on about $400

Then this hand comes up...

We are now down to one table at about 1:30 AM A guy with a stack of over $400 had come from one of the broken tables. He is very pleased with his stack of chips. He counts them out in stacks of two. I'm not kidding. 40 little mini stacks of two red chips. I'm pretty comfortable with the table by now. The OLLAG to my Right is actually a very solid LAG and I'm sort of staying out of his way. The rest of the table is pretty LAG too, but terribad. I am UTG and see two red Aces. I decided earlier that if I got Aces and they were the same color, I'd limp Preflop. If one red and one black, I'd raise. This is actually a great spot for me to Limp Raise, because I know someone will raise for me. So I limp. Guy with 40 Stacks of two Limps. Several other limpers. OLLAG raises from Big Blind. I reraise. 40 Stacks calls. Fold to OLLAG who folds (later he told me he thought about shoving into me). Flop is J high rainbow. I bet. 40 Stacks Calls. Turn Blank. I bet. 40 Stacks Calls. River Blank. For some reason I decide that I have the Nuts and I shove. 40 Stacks Insta - and I mean INSTA - Calls. The words "Set of Jacks" explodes in my mind.

I roll over my Red Aces and he shows two Black Kings. He called every Street and a Shove with Kings.

I scoop about an $800 pot. He actually had me covered by $12 but got up and left so fast I thought he must have had some Bad Fish for lunch and was making a run for the restroom. We let the Dealer have the $12 as a tip.

Pretty dumb of me not to give the guy any credit at all for a hand.

I manage to hover around that mark until closing and book a good win - especially considering how my night started.

Just thought I'd share a mini TR.

Does anyone know how that $120 HU tournament at Snookers turned out?

Played At 4aces on Gratiot and 13 mile today.

I came into the tournament at like 7:15 pm and there was a long as list for alternates. i literally couldn't get a seat for ever. so i decided to play Black Jack. 1st time i ever won at black jack. +$36 weeee. Spent $80 for the tournament which had a First place of over $800. which i think to much of the buy in goes to Charity. but i do understand that they have to put a decent % for Charities. Honestly i think they do so much better then Sunny Brook as far as the tournament goes.
I ended up getting to the Final two tables with $310kish with blinds at 20k/40k. Top ten players getting paid (which i was in for $80 and only gotten $40) but for the most part i feel i had top 6 chip stack. i think i was 3rd at the table. when Good Young Internet player shoved from the cutoff w A8. i look down in the small blind W KdKh and am like weeeee. Button tanks for a while and says later he folded AJ lol. of course i get two outered by A8 and am left with 60k. o well All in next hand w A8<KQ . pretty happy with my play. And i must say that half of the players where pretty much clueless on how to play the game. They go broke with Top Pair No Kicker, and chase everything. if you can find a fold when your beat and deal with some swings i think you can turn a profit.

Played a cash game soon after and i have to say there where two Women there that played better then any of the other guys that have played any of the Games that i have Sat in. Was Really Surprised when they looked at the chip stacks and position as that was not in anyones elses vocabulary. Both women walked away i am sure with a profit. I did however find it hard to take this little old ladies money.i felt bad as if she should of been buying medicine or something with it.
So despite loosing -$150 with JJ to the older ladies over limped limped limped QQ. i feel like i played pretty good. (if i played that hand differently i would of been up a nice amount) i still had a small profit. (+$36 from black jack and +$325 -$280 = +$75?) wanted to figure it out lol.

Not sure how i felt about the tournament. i felt the Dealers where no where as good as the dealers from Snookers, And when i came back from the break i really thought i had $132k in chips but seemed to be 20k short. altho i did have the blinds pass threw me
(was on the Phone crazy Cousin , 55 year old barricade himself in his house in Algonac and was in a stand off with the police last Thursday) so i was trying to find out what is happening to him. (idiot).
Also the other thing i didn't like is Players who where not playing standing behind me while they where rooting for their friend. like bro i don't need you sitting on my shoulders while i play. Didn't want to be a dick against a regular (who blows, and seems to know everyone there) Was hoping that the floor would say something but his friend ended up busting out later on. owell Good Night to Everyone and maybe better luck next time.

It had nothing to do with interest in the game, I guarantee they can get one going. The problem is selling out for the charity, which means less rake and less money for the room. I think northville needs to add a third charity exclusively for bigger games.

This is one of my biggest complaints also. I hate having someone looking over my shoulders. I always ask the dealer to say something and if that doesn't help I have the floor called over and ask them to resolve the situation.

I think I play better when I'm not worried about someone behind me... so financially it makes sense for me to speak up when I feel uncomfortable. I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels this way

I remember that KK suckout, that was rowdy! I was the one that tanked with the AJ....definitely tried staying away from you for the most part! Haha it was a fun tournament though, especially the the giant stack I took that got all mad at me. Was the first tournament I've played where I had chips thrown at me LOL (first table)

Yea to be honest i am never folding AJ there, due to the previous Action. He was shoving a wide range of hands there. I hope you where one of the 4 people that chopped. You seemed to play very well. And you should do pretty good there. Pretty cool to see other 2+2 ers there. Good luck in the future.
And by the way his shove was very standard for online play. Just Super Unlucky for me i guess. which is how poker works

haha thanks! I actually was on the fence on that one, but at the time I thought I picked up a few things at the table that made me fold. Worked out in the end, I had over 3.5 million in chips at the final table when they called for a chop. I took $700 and they each got about $380 I think it was. I really like their tournaments for a charity room, plus I live really close there. Good luck to you as well; I'm sure I'll see you there again, hopefully at the final table with me haha

Important Stuff: Haven't read the rest of the thread and it may already have been posted but have you tried the Heidelberg yet?

Tangent/Unecessary info: It's out on North Main St., over the summer last year when I was living in a sublet for my lab in East Hall someone mentioned it to me and I went there everyday for a couple months. It's somewhat juicy (I went there because I don't have a car so walking distance is a must for me) as the regulars there are pretty bad. I remember this one old guy who cold called my 3bet OOP (for $50 which was a quarter of his stack lulz) when I reraised some drunk guy and old guy showed up with 64s for a flopped straight flush :O. Apparently he does this **** on the regular and a lot of other guys there overplay top pair a lot (c/c'ing 3 streets w/ A7 on AK952r etc.) Usually there's only one table going but the last time I was there was about a year ago now (made about 5k in 200 hours of live play but small sample size for sure just saying you'll probably have a decent edge in the game) but I remember it picking up on the weekends and there might be more action during the fall/winter semesters when the Asian degens who come to Michigan want a break from the engineering program (racist ban) or the football players feel like blowing some cash (I played with one of them there but I never got his name or recognized him afterwards but he c/c'd with 33 on 678K9 two streets then tank/folded to my river bet, still wasn't as much of a brag as playing frisbee with Denard outside of south quad though).
