I've seen a few questions about PLO at MCC. I have some good news. The game is going strong now. Instead of the game sometimes starting with 8 players and breaking 2 hours in, there is now normally a must-move, that often takes hours to get off. It can be a little frustrating waiting, but I love walking in and having to wait if it means there are lots of people playing PLO and that the game isn't in danger of breaking. I was getting worried for a little while that interest was dwindling and it would dry up. Great news for PLO in Detroit.

I took a chance at the plo game at mcc and wasn't doing very well, I think it was the fact its 10 handed, and I think most people at the table knew each other and some were playing a bit friendly which just tilts me. Oh and if we meet, no hard feelings, I will not be playing soft whatsoever. Anyways hopefully get to meet some of yea, will post if I head out to mcc or hiedelberg!
Which day did you play PLO? What do you look like?

Garrett said the game was really good. Did you happen to see the hands where Garrett lost big pots to Darren? Did you agree with his lines on those hands? What about the hand where one of the good players raised Garrett's button straddle and Garrett defended with KJ?

Why are you assuming I'm weird?

I don't remember any big hands G had against D, I left around 11. I may have missed one when I was updating Gambit on my phone.

I think I remember the conclusion of the KJ hand, and I'm not sure I like the call on the turn. If it's the one you're talking about, he gets there on the river, but he had to make a pretty big call on the turn with overs and a gut shot.

Did he end up winning or losing last night? He was jynxing himself by saying how he hadn't lost a session since Snookers closed, so I wonder if he was going to book another win or not.

Edit: turned out to be a really good game. Wish I could've stayed.

What's up guys? Has anyone ever played Chicago Poker Classic? I was looking at schedule and it looked pretty awesome. Also, how will mid states poker tour do at fire keepers? A lot of showing you think?

Not sure how many will drive to MSPT, but I plan to play some satelites to get in it.

A few from this thread went out for CPC last year, so you might find some who will this year too.

I wouldn't pay for a hotel where I got to play day 1 and then have nothing to do for the next two days if I made day two.

well there's a 1c on Saturday so you really don't have to stay there half a week. the risk is not getting in line early enough to be in the 100, but I really can't imagine they'll get that many people even on a Saturday.

wug o/u on total runners for the mspt main?

Went to Santino's last night for the first time. Did not play. That place is pretty nice tho. They have a really nice Martini bar that I plan on spending a lot of time in. Perfect place to go and drink/watch sports or w/e.

He lost a couple big pots to suckouts by Darren. The KJ hand was pretty questionable but I wasn't there and I'm not sure if I've played with the villain before.

Flytrap,

-Do you ever play with your students at the same table?

-How often do you recommend that your students play against each other? Seems like they would be better off at different tables instead.

I wouldn't necessarily call them students. I talk hands with them and have bought their action in the past. More like friends that I help out now and then as opposed to people I'm formally coaching. It's better to be on different tables for sure, but if the game is good enough it's not a big deal. Sort of like that line in Rounders where they're playing at the casino. They aren't exactly helping each other, but you don't see the piranha eating each other.
