MCC or GT. I haven't been to Caesars Windsor in years, but you're likely to fond good action there too.

WHat is the Charity scene like these days? I've been out of the loop for a while.

Seems like Snookers in Utica is always packed. Haven't played at the charity rooms recently either, so hopefully some of the other Detroit area regs can chime in.

Anyone know where the largest NLHE or PLO game is today?

Thanks.

I have heard that MCC runs a $5/$10 nlhe, and GTC runs a $5/$10 PLO, but not sure if they are running tonight. Can anyone confirm who might play in those games?

tomorrow (Saturday) is the greektown PLO

I think it starts around Noon

and MCC has at least one 5/10 NL ($300-2000) every day but I've been seeing 2 tables + wait on weekends and even occasionally on Wed/Thurs, sometimes there's even a third 5/10 no cap ($500 min) game

MGM had a 5/10 on weekends but i've been seeing those regs migrate over to MCC since that room seems to be doing pretty bad

Anyone ever played at the Big Beaver tavern in Troy? Whats it like on weekends?

I have not played @ BBT, but I was just at Greektown and they had a list for 2/5 eight deep. 3 1/2 tables with no waiting and 2 3/6 limit tables going. Bad beat jackpot up to $85k.

MCC had two 5/10nl games today. Both were really good games

One small thing to point out and that is that the $500 min game is 10/20 and it hasn't run in about 5 months.

Played G'town last nite.

BBJ is over $100K

Not a huge crowd for a Tiger Game Night.

Played $1/$2 for a couple of hours before heading out to the game. Played one hand terribly, but in hindsight it might have loosened up the action against me and did well as a result. Thought about heading back for more fun after the game, but it was a Work night.

BBJ was hit last night after 10:30 pm by a lady at a 3/6 table. Played this afternoon and they had 2 3/6 tables and 3 1/2 nlhe tables.

Thinking about playing in the summer sizzler in Windsor. Has anyone played in it or qualified?

I called the poker room and the prize pool is $100K with a minimum of 200 players. Satellite buyin for Friday is $125. One in five qualify for main event. The main event will be 2 days. Direct buy in $550. Two day ones, Friday at 4 and I think other one is Saturday at 4. Finals on Sunday.

Sounds interesting, anyone know anymore?

I was kind of intrigued cuz' I really think the Detroit poker rooms should really run a tournament series. Here are the official rules.

http://www.harrahs.com/images/non_im...zler_Rules.pdf

Looks like a max of 200 players, so of course the prize pool can't be over 100k. Also structure for a $550 buy-in isn't all that great. 30 min blinds, also 50% increases from 800 to 1200, and 2000 to 3000. I'll probably pass.

I can't make it either. Would be nice for people who play at other poker rooms in the Detroit area that are planning Tournament Series to post here about it.

Thanks for the information. Sound like I may pass on it also after reading this.

Looking through the site I saw a couple monthly tournies such as the Freedom Friday, and one they have on Sat (middle of every month, I think). I think they're lesser buy-in with same 30 min blinds. Escalation of blinds I'm sure aren't all that great. Just wish there was a very well-run Venetian Deep Stack type event in Detroit

I haven't asked at MC or MGM, but Greektown has no current plans to have a tournament series. I think this is a big mistake by the casinos if they don't try something like this. Not only could they fill their hotels a little more, but the pit action would also be good as players bust out.

They could also fill their Hotels a little more if they didn't insist on asking $300-400 a night in a massively depressed city with 4 Casinos - EACH with completely new Hotels, AND two major Hotels recently remodeled and reopened after years and years of dormancy (Book Cadillac and St Regis).

$300-400 a night?!?

Seriously.

I just booked a stay at the Encore in Vegas for $100 a night AND a $75 Meal Credit.

Motor City rate is about $171 with tax. Last time I checked Greektown was like $110 before taxes.

More luxurious than the Imperial Palace? You can't beat value like the IP.

This is less than an hour from Detroit and the BWC is a well run poker series.

I've only stayed @ Greektown and the rooms are fine. Not huge, but nice because they are fairly new. Decor is contemporary.
