Mixed game was fun! Thought the dealers/room were pretty good. I spewed for a while, grinded short for what seemed an eternity, ran good/got lucky to end even! Weeee......was nice to meet everyone!

great fun at the mixd game. Thanks O8 for setting it up. Too bad you couldn't make it though. Oh wait, that was you nitting it up in seat 4. Luckily we played sveral stud games so when he was the bring in he had the chance to put a couple of chips in the pot. Maybe I'm underestimating him a little. He did make a tough tank call with a straight flush.
Good to meet Pillsberry who was clearly the best player there. We evened things out by taking turns sucking out on him. We made sure in each of the games someone rivered him. He took it like a pro though with no whining or badbeat complaints. And speaking of runbad, it was good to see Atarirob back in action. Apparantly his harem has been keeping him busy and he doesn't get to play much. This was supposed to be his welcome back to poker, but would have been more welcoming if we had let him win one pot. Besides running into O8's straightflush his worst runbad was when we forgot to tell him the beer was free until he had spent most of a buyin on several pitchers.
It was good to see Caveman come out from behind his shades. He gave a devastating exhibition of power poker. He seems to know only three poker terms..."straddle", "raise", and "deal me in next hand, I'm just grabbing a quick smoke". I'm not sure what impressed me most his poker or the fact that he smoked two packs without missing a hand. He steadily amassed a mountain of chips but none of us minded much since he has 12 kids to feed.
I just tried to play tight and stay out of everyones way. At least my tight image paid off playing the deuce/seven game. I think it took a minraise to get O8 off toppair.
For anyone who didn't make it, come on man. A little peeing blood shouldn't keep a poker player from a good game.

^ My 12 kids were looking at me funny while I was reading this laughing so f'n hard.

No one tell him I dropped 600 last night. I want him to keep this image of me forever!

BTW, that might have been the thickest fog I've ever driven in and sleep is for the weak!

And for the record, I had 9 cigs when I got there and only bummed 1 at 1:30am!

And I think next time we should play 'must show hand to win'. How tilting it would have been for to see me 3 bet with 76o and then repop the $30 lead with 7 high.

I think we all learned not to exploit the caveman. even without his xray glasses he saw through every bet.

Did anyone get the license plate of the semi that ran me over? Oooff...

Good times though!

Sorry to everyone about the free beer. Obviously I would have mentioned that if I had known before hand. At least we know for next time which appears to be Dec. 7. Hold the date now boys. Sunnybrook was super generous and provided great dealers for us so I think we will keep the game there.

Thanks to Networth, Caveman, Atarirob, Pillsbary, Sevup and friends, havingwithdrawals, and Lagnit for helping to keep the game running all night. As Caveman said there was plenty of bluffing and leveling going on, and he kept things interesting with prop bets. Unfortunately he did what I usually do: win early and lose late.

I enjoyed playing all the games last night. Yes, even Razz. We are pretty sure this is the first time 8-game has run in any poker room in Michigan, so congrats to everyone for being part of history.

Thanks to Randy, John, Jake, Dustin and Tammy from Sunnybrook for all the hospitality.

So how many times did you play the wrong game last night?? I think the 1 time I did was calling O8s river bet near the end thinking it was razz when it was stud8. My 9 didn't qualify...

Near the end of the night it was harder to keep track, but I have to say I didn't do that once. Usually I am doing exactly what you said: playing Razz when the game already changed to Stud.

Yeah, your bluffs were working on me (hated having you on my left). You even got me to hero call you in Stud hi lo with AK high no low.

Aren't the percentages against you typically, in this spot?

You rapping pat with 77 in 2-7TD on the draw was an awesome play! I think it got you paid off a few times as well.

It was fun to try a re-steal on you only to be blasted by the bring in during Stud8. lol

I like how nobody at the game knows me, and I wasn't even there, yet somehow everybody knows about my extreme urinary tract infection.
Spooky.

Yeah, I thought he was going for a low draw and if he had missed, my AKQ high would be a scoop... but he had two pair lol. I made several hero calls last night but that was the craziest one. Just think though, if I got ONE right it would be like WOW amazing call! Of course it never happened so it was more like "calling station".

Showing up prevents these interesting rumors from starting.

So it looks like Big Beaver Tavern is the closest room to my new place. Given that, I'm wondering how the 4pm turbo tourney is. Thinking about checking that out today. Anybody played these? Is there a decent turnout?

2-3 tables, 12 min blinds 8k chip start, it's a turbo. Usually gets chopped 3/4 ways. If you're close to Tavern you should be able to take M59 straight to Snookers.

Thanks for the info. I've been down to Snookers a couple times now. Definitely dig it but I'm quite uninterested in driving a half hour to get there today. Feeling more like a quick game that's close. BBT looks about 5-10 minutes away, I like the sound of that.

I've been at Snookers for 53 mins. I have 1140 in front of me. I should stick to nlhe.
