How many local PLO players are there? A manager at Sunnybrook wanted me to ask if people would be interested in starting a daily, or at least regular PLO game during the day. Deals on rake and free food would be offered. Anyone down for this?

So I stopped into Snooker's, all geeked up to possibly take a shot at 2/5 after receiving this text. They never got one going. Had a 2/5nl rxr 1/3 PLO, that turned into a straight PLO for a short time.

Was sorta dissappointed. Sat down at a 1/2 table, made about $90 in 2.5 hours.

Motown 2+2ers, where besides MC kind I find a semi-regular 2/5 NLH game?

I'd play 3 days a week probably. I'm sure I could find about 3 guys that would also play, but it would have to be consistent. Guys wouldn't want to drive from west side just to not have it go.

This is disappointing. I believe there was a regular table of 2/5 at MGM as well, but I haven't been there in quite some time.

I have not found any regular 2/5 games at any charity rooms in SE Michigan. I'm not sure I understand why. If MCC can run 2-3 tables a day, why wouldn't some of that field be looking to play closer to home at a local charity room?

From what I understand, it's not legal for the charity rooms to run 2/5

If that is true then it is new. I've played 2/5 in Charity rooms. I've always thought that the scarcity was related to wider appeal of 1/2 and the rule about the Daily Chip Limits. 2/5 depletes their limit faster. They can have twice as many 1/2 games going.

MetlEtl, sounds like it's MCC for 2/5 and beyond!

For the guys that have been playing PLO8 or other non-hold'em games, anyone interested in starting a monthly mixed game in the Detroit area? I will find a room for us and coordinate if there is any interest out there. I don't believe we can run it weekly, so I'm just proposing a special event once a month. If we get the right group, we can probably even start a Tour of some kind and go to a different room each week.

I'm going to propose this line-up of games, but I am open to suggestions: 5/10 LHE, 5/10 O8, 5/10 7-card Stud, 5/10 7-card Stud hi-lo, 1/2 NLHE, 1/2 PLO.

I don't believe that is the case. Most rooms don't run bigger than 1/2 due to a lack of players for the game and the $15k/day chip limit.

I'd be happy if we could get a limit HORSE game (5/10) spread, but Windsor is no place to do it. Let me know what you guys decide. I wouldn't be in until later on in the summer though.

Windsor says they'll spread 7-stud but I've NEVER seen it played. If we could guarantee them a table, I wonder if they'd agree to spread a 2/5 NLHE, 2/5 PLO, 5/10 Stud RxR. They already do the HE/PLO RxR.

Love the idea (Obviously lol). I'm sure we can all work out a mix of sorts. I'd prefer it to be horse, but we can talk about that later, and I'm sure we can easily find a regular group of guys to get this going!

Yeah, you may be right.

Any recent TRs from MCC? Is there usually a long waiting list for 2/5? I would guess it would be less now since the BBJ has been hit.

I hear this game can be full of nitty regs. Any nitty regs out there confirm this?

We're trying to organize a weekly PLO8 game at Greektown on Mondays, and will try to start it next week, 5/16. I'll be going there sometime this week to talk to them and figure out what time works best, but I'm sure we'll try to get it going around noon for those interested, thanks!

Swoon 5/10 HORSE with some 1-2 and 1-2 PLO mixed in...you'd be a daisy if you could get this off the ground. I'd be in once or twice a month.

Yes! I'm coming from A²/Ypsi though which is apparently not the side of Detroit that's a hotbed of charity action. (Are we talking about charity rooms?) Once a month would be about the maximum of my interest unless we're talking about the Detroit casinos or something nearer to me.

I've become quite fond of triple draw, NLSD 2-7, and Badugi (though i suck at it). but I'd play whatever if you got this going.

Also keep in mind that $5/10 is a terrible limit structure. Could $4/8 work? (I don't understand this thing about the legal chip allocation, but I assume it's not based on literal number of chips in play.)

This is exactly right.

Being we never get near our 15,000 chip limit, we would love to host a $2/$5 game for you gentlemen. I would even do a $5 max rake all night, and a $1 rake for any early birds that played between 6:30pm-8:30pm.

Other rooms offer free food, but I'm sure true cash players would appreciate a $1 rake much more.

Ask for Mike the manager at Johnny G's Poker Room (27 N. Walnut, downtown Mount Clemens), or just come in any Thursday-Sunday, and we will be happy to accommodate any game you would like to run!

Are there any NLHE games in SE Michigan lower than 1/2 (0.50/1.00 or 0.25/0.50)? I would like to start out at lower stakes.

Occasionally, you may find a .50/1.00 game in one of the smaller charity rooms, but it is rare

Yes, but this benefit is dampened by the fact that the opponents i want at my table are far less sensitive to the rake than the opponents i don't want.

(There are exceptions, like the guy in the Greektown LO8 game a couple of weeks ago who complained about how hard it is to beat the rake at $5/10 full kill and then proceeded to go on tilt and/or was very affected by a couple of drinks and raised every hand.)

There used to be a .50/$1 in Madison Heights I think
