Never actually played in the Snooker's tourneys. But have played cash ther quite often.

From what I can see, the structure is much better than most. Blinds go up every 20 min., but they go up much slower than most.

Snookers tourneys has the best blind structure of any charity room, but it's still eh. It's not even comparable to Northville though, easily 50x better.

Snookers blind structure is ok.. still find yourself with 10bb or less after the first break.. I haven't played at northville so I'm unsure of there structure.

I think it goes like this..

$10125 Chips to start (most tourneys)
20 Min Levels

25/50
50/100
100/200
150/300
200/400
400/800
500/1000

Nope, there isn't. It actually goes (which I'm sure of):

25/50
50/100
100/200
150/300
200/400
300/600
500/1000
700/1400
1000/2000
1500/3000
2000/4000
3000/6000
and so on

Can anyone tell me if The River runs a 2/5nl game, that's not a RxR?

Checked their website, it says they offer one, but do they get one going?

That usually happens when the BBJ gets really high. MGM's wait is usually short.

I've tried to read back through this thread and will continue to do so for due diligence.

Just to summarize, if someone's willing:

1. What are the smallest stakes (NL, PLO, limit games, whatever) that are considered to be beatable at the Detroit casinos with $6 rake + tip + BBJ?

2. In the charity or informal games listed here, how do they compare with the casino games in terms of safety, reliability of games going, etc.?

3. Same as 1, what are the smallest beatable stakes in those games?

Yeah, it's a really good structure for the first 2 hours, then it just gets to be too shovey. But compared to other charity rooms, it's great.

I may be wrong on this but doesn't everyone think that a casino 1-2NL game on a friday night is probably a lot easier than a charity room game on a Friday night. The reason being that most of the donks will migrate to the lowest stakes game there is, and in a charity room that game is the $30 tournament as opposed to a $200 buy in cash game. I played northville cash game on a Thursday night and although there was decent action everyone seemed to at least be a somewhat regular there and have a decent idea how to play. Maybe I just got a bad game, but I played the tournament before the cash game and the play was atrocious. So that's my take on that.

Has anyone seen the yellow Johnny G's signs all over the east side? I wonder if the signs are helping. I was there last night and we had a cash game from 7:45 till about 10, then it died but another started around 11:45 and this was a pretty good game...

$5/10/20, w/ often a $40 Mississippi straddle at Greektown. Or, I've heard Sunnybrook is running round by round again. Other than check the charities. I can't help you w/ the charity scene and other than the rumor of sunnybrook I don't know anything else about charities. check http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/27...0/index36.html for charity info

See my post above

I can't help you w/ 1/2 but I'm sure it's beatable even w/ the high rake

Otter, please go investigate Flight Club for me and give me a lovely trip report. The concept of legal poker inside a strip club has given me permanent wood. Thanks!

You might have had a bad table. I've had good gambling tables at 1/2 at all charity and casinos I've played at in Michigan. There are bad tables now and then but mostly during the week, not the weekend.

I've played charity rooms as well as the casinos.

I don't see much difference in the play.

The Charity Rooms in my experience seem to be a but looser, especially the $2/$5 Games.
