It is a good read and I may start working in 2/5 once in a while.

I just read that thread--good find! If you are a winner @ 1/2, read that thread now.

Id find it very very hard not to shove in this spot, but checking/seeing a flop is free, IMO either is correct.....not trying to be on the fence, but I can make a case for either....actually, now that I think about it, some MTT guys probably say jam 100% it's way too +ev..........

I'd ship that hand as well people in charity poker donkaments are way tight at the final table and you just won a nice pot with a quality hand prior.

If you don't feel good about shoving then just check and see the flop but shoving allows you to scoop all those blinds but one exception would be if you seen any of them guys in EP just limp/call with a monster type hand or if they are rarely playing pots to the point where they probably have something they could limp strong with from EP.

Haven't finished the whole thread yet, but pretty much gold. Thanks, Kwack for sharing.

Also, only a few players will bet so much when their hand improves. Most will bet smaller or check then bet/call/shove river. This, I think, is what lead me to the eventual callimo player dependent but J is a big part of players range so I think you have to call even without reads.

+1 Funny, I just stumbled across that thread the other day, I devised a plan to work into 2/5 according to bankroll vs % I am allowed to play in the game. I like 2/5 better because I focus more and...it's kinda a rush, not like craps tho! lol

Also, if your thinking about moving up (hell, if your just thinking about making/keeping $ longterm), stay away from table games at all costs! Blackjack is how I got my first "lesson" in brm! lol

Here's a mini tr from Big Beaver Tavern Troy.

I played the 30 dollar tournament, and it got 60 runners.

The play seemed pretty tight passive where one interesting hand had a guy check call three streets with bottom set when I held top two.

The structure was really good in the middle and early stages, but the end game got a little bit silly with the jumps going from 10000/20000 to 20000/40000 to 40000/80000.

Once we got to 40000/80000 we agreed to a 3 way chop as the other two players were fairly solid and we were all even stacked. I went there to play cash but the game was pretty bad so I decided to jump in the tournament. I forgot how easy low buy in tournaments were. For any of you low stake tourney players, this is a great room to play in.

Last time I played there I was playing 1/2 and some guy literally jumped up and down and high fived other players after hitting a three outer in a 65 dollar pot. Haven't been back since.

A dealer that works there that I respect a lot lurks on these forums and if he's reading this, I was loyal to that room because I liked some of the regulars there (V and a couple of the young kids), and I like a lot of the staff, and I shipped a lot of tournaments when I was on a down swing. But after my last couple of stops there, there is no reason for me to ever return.

Agreed.

Next time you guys come out to this area, this is where we should go. The team tournament was fun and all, but I think this room will be a bit more fulfilling to make a trip for.
I think we might be coming out there this Sunday. Will know for sure later this week.

Seems to be a lot of turnover on the dealers lately. Suddenly a bunch of former players there are now dealers. Haven't seen V there in a while, sounds like he's been absent for a while. I feel like I've seen the high five scenario happen a few times... makes me laugh.

Did you mean the chairs at Trip Kings? Because I thought they were mostly super comfy (ass size asside ).

Maybe it was a reference to something that went over my head. Wouldn't be the first time.
