I think the PLO Players are staying 'home' so to speak for fear of running out of chips, but some of the rooms are going to add a 2nd charity during the day, so they may be able to run some PLO.

Not what you're looking for, but at least a 'charity' report. GL
Wow, thats an insane turnout for a charity PR tourney. Good time to be on the west side it sounds like. Can't say I'll make it out that way, but good to know

Since the Windsor thread is dead I figure I'll ask here.

Has anyone heard anything, rumor or not, about when the poker room in Windsor might re-open?

The games were always hit or miss, but the comped rooms and favorable exchange rate made everything *else* about playing over there occasionally fun. I'd really like to go again, but I'm not going to put up with the insane border rules until there's poker too.

Ontario gov't has a press conference on Friday where it's expected all capacity limits on everything will be removed. That's supposedly going to lead to full capacity casinos, so you can look for Ontario casinos to have plans in place to reopen poker a couple months out from the announcement. Only Americans & Canadians at this point tho, so if you don't have your citizenship don't think you can come. You'll also need to be double vaxxed and a negative Covid test.

A lot of 'ifs' in the above, will know more next week most likely.

What's the wait time like midday for the 12 and 25 @ MGM? Do they have a 90 minute call in policy?

Why would you ever publicize this on a public forum lol?

Somewhat of a rhetorical question...

Yea, I've heard that "we're lifting restrictions" line before. Missed t he recent announcement. Hopefully they mean it this time. I'd be surprised if it took *months* to reopen the poker room. Was hoping someone here knew an employee and had some inside info on their plans.

Already looked at the entry requirements. The vax is fine (although I'm not sure about their internal passport app), but that testing requirement is a pain in the ass. I've never gotten a good answer about the quarantine plan requirement either.

I know dealers @ Niagara, they've not yet been notified of anything. That said they're often the last to know, the quickest way to really know is to look for signs of life in the poker room, and I'm not local to Niagara, so haven't done that.

Here's the announcement. Casinos specifically having all capacity restrictions lifted. Now we wait & see what the casinos themselves do.

Pretty sure the quarantine requirement is gone, I didn't have to do it last time I returned.

You're not required to quarantine. But you're still required to have a PLAN to quarantine in case you get randomly selected for a test at the border and then test positive. It's idiotic.

But don't we WANT positive testers to quarantine lol? I'm just saying that's logical -- it's either that or go back.

The test takes ~48 hours to get back. Why the hell should I need to have a plan to quarantine when I'll be home before the results come back? Especially when "just go home" isn't apparently sufficient.

I'm fairly certain you can take the test before you leave in the US, then present it when you come back. Not 100%, but I read something like that.

But you are right it's super inconvenient. But that's the political decision that was made -- public health>cross border shopping. It is what it is.

No, that's not how it works. You need to have a negative test in hand before you cross, taken in the last 72 hours. So you've got kind of a small window to have it back in time, but whatever.

he problem is that they can still select you for ANOTHER test *at the border*, where they test you *right there*. Which you then need to have a pre-planned quarantine plan in place for, even for a day trip.

"It is what it is." That's exactly the attitude that has kept up this abject insanity for almost 2 years.

Firekeepers is holding a $350 Black Chip Bounty on 'black' Saturday, Nov 27. I believe it's 20k chips with 30 minute levels starting at 1PM. Yes, there's a big college football game that day, but it's their first 'big' tournament since before CV. GL

Does PLO run here regularly? 5/5 or higher?
Detroit Quote
12-03-2021 , 10:29 AM
1-2-5 PLO runs at MGM pretty much daily with some bigger games running on the weekends. There were some really large games running during the Summer and they could start up again now that the WSOP is over .. but now we do have the holidays to consider and typically Florida is a poker hot spot during January.

If you have the Bravo App you can monitor all 3 Detroit casinos games that are running. Most of the Floors at MGM are good on the phone, so you could call them and get a reasonable forecast of future games. GL

1/3 with 5 dollar bring in runs pretty much all the time. Usually with a 10 dollar straddle. On the weekends there is usually a 5/10 also

Played the MC monthly tourney today. $300 BI, had over 500 runners as of the last part of late reg when I busted

Looked like 1st would have prob been around $30k or so. Nice format and good to see this getting such a good turnout on a monthly basis.

In regard to PLO at MGM, is 1/3 the lowest they run? Did they finally eliminate smoking there or do people still do it in the poker rooms?

Yes, the 1/3 I believe is a 300-1k BI game which basically plays like a 2/5 game. And Yes, no smoking which is nice.

1/3 PLO is 300-1000 with 5 to open.

Smoking hasn't been allowed in very many poker rooms for a very long time.

Smoking hasn't been allowed in Michigan casinos since they reopened from CV .. and the hope is that they wont allow it should any semblance of normal return to society. Hopefully they don't see a drop off of slot revenue from folks going outside to smoke. The obvious fear is that if someone is running bad and they go to smoke they may not reenter the building and stomp off to their car. GL

Here's an almost mid-week update ..

FKeepers could be starting with up to 22 tables at NOON on Sunday for the $500 with late registration ending after Level 8 break (approximately 430). Starting stack is 40K with Level 8 being 1k-2k-2k (so 20bb max late reg). There are less than 30 signed up right now but that will change as the week goes on. GL
