I mostly focus on their $30-$66 MTTs but I mix in some $22s and $109s as well. I’m probably not a winner long term in $109’s or higher on that site though so most of those entries are from satellite wins.

I noticed that CP Windsor employees are on strike. Any affect to their poker room?

Whole Casino is closed. Hotel too. No re-open date yet.

I had booked a room for next week so I didn't have to drive all the way back and forth to be at COBO for work ... and they just canceled it.

Gotta get those Cubans! I just got my passport renewed a couple weeks ago so I could pick up the cigars. I don't really smoke very often at all but I have a humidor and might as well keep it full. Plus of course they have good deals on booze. The Wayne Gretzky is actually not bad. My friend bought it for me as a novelty and I was surprised to find that I liked it.

Thank you very much. Don't know why I didn't think to check Bravo.

Just bet river and called a raise in a cash game at MGM. Opponent mucks and dealer says I still have to show my hand to win the pot DetroitDetroitDetroitDetroit

Is it really that hard to run a poker room?

I'm actually not sure what Robert's says about this situation. It's a dumb house rule imo.

Qualified into the $250 MSPT satellite last night, after playing the $65 satellite at noon. In the noon tournament I got good cards most of the tournament. First orbit I closed the action on the big blind with 98o. Flop is 567 two diamonds. I get it all in against TT and close to double up. Lose a few hands getting out flopped by passive players, then eventually people get low and I knock out two people when AcAs holds against Jh9d and JdQd on an all red board

My one comment about the structure is to watch out for the jump from 300/600 to 500/1000. It really made your medium stack into a shoving stack abruptly. Over all though I like the tourney. Didn't take too long for the cost.

The $250 at 6:30 pm went terribly wrong from the start. Got a set of queens at level 1 and my opponent went runner runner flush and didn't even bet the king of clubs in his hand on the river. I was folding to any bet anyway since Qc was on the board.

Same guy knocks me out with 44 at level 2 when my QQ hits a 4d5d5h flop. He played it well. I guess I'll try again next week.

Wish they had some $250 starting times that run somewhat into a Main Event starting time.

Ive heard of this rule in some east coast rooms where its somehow part of state law, so its not unheard of.

It’s just illogical. I asked the floor about it on my way out and he’s like “yeah it’s just one of those old rules that’s been around for a while.” Like no dude that’s not a good enough reason for a rule. If you can’t explain the logic in it, then why is it there? It’s not like it’s a tournament and someone might be chip dumping.

That and they were also allowing a dude to chat away on the phone while he was in a hand, which is nuts to me. Both are things that I don’t think I’ve ever seen allowed in any room.

MGM here has had it for years. I remember seeing it in Vegas (probably at an MGM property). Seen it in AC too. Pretty common.

The justification is that you need to have a valid hand to be awarded a pot. So if you table two aces of spades, or somehow have 3 cards in your hand that you've concealed well, you lose.

So who wins the pot? The other guy mucked therefore he doesn't have a valid hand.

I think roberts rules says in that case everyone gets their money back from the pot, except maybe the player with the invalid hand who tried to freeroll and his money stays there until the next hand. I have never seen any scenario close to this.

But why can't the valid hand simply be face down? :'(

I've never seen it so I don't know, but I know the gaming commission (in NJ) will seize the BBJ winnings of an underage player that gets nabbed when they run ID's for the table.

I don't make the rules, I just know that this is a relatively common one. Just like the places that make you table cash game hands when all in.

Fwiw playing at Firekeepers right now, and you don't have to show if bettor mucks. Just happened. Everyone was cool about it.
