That may not be the rules at Momos, but it is everywhere else I've ever been, and that is hundreds of places.

It's always cool hearing back from someone that I've looked up to, watched on television and admired as a player. Thank you for your response, Greg!

I'm not sure why Momo's doesn't understand this, but you did bring up a good point that regardless, the cards are random and consistency is key.

Party Poker circa 2005 did heads up backwards like that. BB was the button and got last act on every street.

SEagle did it as well .. as a touted "HPT Event #1" one of the last times they hosted. They were letting the B be the BB. I asked a Floor about it and he said that since it started that way they were just going to continue.

It comes up when the SB busts in 3rd place ... then the B player is now SB 'and' B in the next hand, thus B twice in a row. And someone, either the Dealer or BB doesn't see that as fair since the BB is BB twice in a row as well ... GL

Okay, I might try it tomorrow. I get off work at 5 and can probably get there by 6. I should have no problem getting a seat eventually, right? Or, does it sometimes break all at once early? I don't really feel like playing NL.

when i lived in toledo with Ray, and mostly played in detroit i didnt like the way toledo did this waiting list, so i seldom played it. another thing which annoyed me is most of the regs in it preferred omaha8 to the stud8. i think the list should be given first priority to the people in the room already playing other games, and shouldnt be allowed to sign up til 2 hours before the game begins. otherwise any non reg is basically shut out.

MCC does the same thing with 'The Game of the Day' (15/30 or 5-10-20 for sure). I'm not sure the exact rules, but I know the starters and pretty much anyone who played the week before can get on the wait list 'days' before the next game and those that are there when the game starts get the seats ... then they go down the list.

I've never really had much of a wait for either of those games when I wanted to play them. 5-10-20 usually has a feeder table as well.

I can't imagine seats being hard to come by in Toledo by 9 PM, but that's a wait if you 'stuck' at 1-2 ... and the game might be on 'lock down' by the time you sit down, especially if it typically busts by Midnight. GL

Yeah, I dunno then, I prolly won't go early. I can wait like an hour, sure. I don't wanna wait over 2 hours. I tried to get into that $15/$30 at MCC before, called in a half hour prior, by the time it got to me, I was nearly 3 hours into my NL game, so just said, no thanks. That was probably for the best though. $15/30 is a bit higher than I prefer, and fixed limit omaha hi is a wonky ass game.

I’m late to the discussion but I’ll participate

1. Button is always on the SB when playing HU. It baffles me how often rooms screw this up.

2. I had dinner with Frank about a month ago. He’s alive and well, just don’t think he plays as much as he used to. I believe he’s still active on his podcast Facebook page when he does play though.

3. I think I still qualify as a youngster around here (I was born in the 90’s what do you old farts think of that?)

4. My posting in here has mostly declined because I’m not a very active participator in Metro Detroit Poker. The vast majority of my playing consists of online tournaments and any decent tournament within a 5 hour drive (when I can get work off). I don’t poke my head in here as often since I don’t have much interest in what’s going on in the charity scene and Detroit can’t seem to host a major tournament.

All that said, I’m playing in Greektown at the moment. Looks like it got a facelift with more to come.

arg, looks like you're right. First 13 levels are 20, then 5 25 minute levels, then 16 30 minute levels because that makes perfect ****ing sense.

Structure should be better for the 100k vs. the 50k. They're the same, you just get 5k more chips for 100k. But it's not 20 min levels throughout. Switches to 25m, and then 30m before end of day 1. Not the worst structure (has all the levels), and at least it achieves making money on day 1.

Thinking about it but a structure like that for a multi-day tournament is criminal.

Keeping an eye on the Windsor tournaments this week as well. They have a HU, Survivor, and Bounty tournaments capped off with a $1k on the weekend.

Can anyone confirm whether Hollywood did the awesome thing they do by resetting day 2 blinds to make a 50bb stack average? It doesn't say anything about this in the structure but someone during the 50k claimed they were doing this. If they are in fact doing this for both the 50k and 100k, the structure is actually deceptively decent.

I know for sure they did it last year.

Interesting series, had not heard anything about it. Can't imagine driving over there on three consecutive days though in the heads up tourney....
