5-10-20 was a real treat Friday night into Saturday at MCC. Not sure when it broke. Had a Pro from Tronto in town that built a pretty good stack. $7K first hand ... $4K third hand with plenty of action after that! I dropped out from the starting table to go watch a HS football final and it was still going strong with 6 on the list at 200AM when I left to go take a nap. Heard from the Saturday 2-5 crowd about a guy who ran up over $10k profit in quick fashion by hitting 3 consecutive Rivers. No word on the victims.

Although this trip was not as successful as my August ventures it would still be my primary 'go to' room if given a full opportunity to play 'anywhere'. The 1-2 is easy pickin' .. you just have to run well if called. Players fold to most pot sized bets on a regular basis. The 2-5 has good players but generally also has 2-4 action players at all the tables running.

PLO 'only' tables were nonexistent the whole weekend but 2-5 RxR ran both Thursday and Friday. Plenty of BBJ discussion at all tables with even some Dealers going a bit beyond what you might expect ... even during the hands.

Most know they have popped up on the Bravo AP but something I haven't seen on this site is that they are looking at a whole poker room revamp once the BBJ hits. I heard at two different tables that they want to 'take over' most of the area where the 'outer' tables are located now and build a whole new 20+ table room. I also hear that they are looking at doing more HH promos once the BBJ hits as well.

A few interesting table talk spots came up during hands as well but this is long enough for now ... GL

Michigan Millionaire Party Locator is always the best place to look for charity poker. Search by county or city. The only hiccup is that sometimes the starting time isn't exact, being the license may have an earlier starting time than actual starting time.

It will show you the location and the 'charity of the day' ... sometimes going out as much as two months.

I have it as a 'link' on my phone .. very useful. GL

PS .. http://milottery.state.mi.us/gc-mplocator.php

PSS ... Notice they have a gap from December 3rd to December 14th as of today. Sometimes the MGCB and the Charity are still working on the license. One thing the MGCB is good at is keeping this section up to date.

Any news on charity returning to Jackson?

Hotrods is D.O.A. The guy who runs it was claiming it would be open "in two months!" forever. Now he's finally being honest and saying it's a wrap. (Duh!)

Not sure what happened in Jackson. That Supplier is also trying to get Lansing back up and running right now after Reno's pulled the plug on their two locations. The same Supplier also handles the Waterford location.

If HRods was in play there was either an issue with the MGCB (re)approving the location or not enough charities to try and set up a schedule to get it rolling. Always a possible staffing issue as well. So many moving parts when trying to get a room opened up ...

Hit up the rooms in Ann Arbor, but I've heard the chips go fast. GL

I've always wondered that myself ... I figured that $15K per night wasn't enough to keep the interest in that area long term. Assume that home games are very prominent in that area.

5 Star Lanes (Sterling Heights) had plenty of cash action for my game, but I'm not sure your style either. Great Dealers too! GL

Charities wouldn't be wasting licenses for that location if they weren't running games, or at least trying. I was in that area for a wedding and they had 2 tables running each night I was there. Saturday had a NL and a RxR running.

See my "PS" link above for the charity room locator. Charities only get 4 licenses per year for this kind of an event, so they aren't going dink around. GL

Hey all:

MCC put on quite a spread Friday night when the BBJ went over $1MM. They had all the "regular" stuff...and it was refilled regularly.

They also had sushi and bbq pork & cheese & cracker spreads & salad. Very nice!

The room was pretty packed until about 1:30 in the morning.

Action is only so-so as there are TONS of regulars & nits.

There's probably a party that was catered and that was left over. Probably just a coincidence.
