Well boys ... I'm probably making the trip down there Fri or Sat so if you want to pad your pockets just make sure you are at the table 'next' to mine cuz that's where the BBJs and High Hands tend to hit ... 3 BBJs including the last time MCC was this high all within arms reach!!

I've seen Q/Q probably 8-9 times live. Was on the winning side twice but those weren't in a casino. I've only seen SF/Q maybe twice.

@ FK ... Not that the players weren't going to rush out the door anyway but they have a Wed promotion giving away seats to the Fall MSPT sattys and ME. Well as the 11PM ME seat drawing approached a guy hit a Royal for High Hand (10PM-2AM). The room went from 7 tables to 3 short handed tables in about 16 minutes!!

Look for the 'fishing hat' player at MCC/MGM over the weekend and say Hi .. GL

I want to say it was 5+2. Honestly probably the softest most juicy games I have ever played as well.

Thanks... how was the 5/10/20? I'm probably going to play it next week. What was the average buy in? Good luck today.

Good trip cut short a bit ... They got the 5-10-20 going again Saturday night but I was only able to play about 90 minutes before leaving due to a schedule change. There were a couple of new characters on the table and it was pretty splashy the first 30 minutes or so after 1 player lost most of his chips and then won 3 straight PF shoves (at least the first one was blind). I won a nice pot all-in on the Turn against a very active player after hitting a gut shot v his AA. He took it pretty well IMO after the "I can never have AA?". I will say the Turn call (pot) was a bit marginal but after playing with him all the previous night I could've been +EV going into the Turn even without a pair at 2 to 1 on that board.

I felt the staff was doing well. I didn't get the BBJ vibe as much as the last big one. Only issues were getting new players to the table and they were a bit short on food from 2-330 on Saturday and a couple of regs let them know about it. Certainly both the dealers and regs want it to hit (twice, quickly) to settle the room back down.

With the 2 outer 'rooms' the Floor staff has their hands full with all the table changes taking priority from outer to main room. I saw many players putting in 2-3 hands before they would move thus creating issues. There is certainly no 3rd man walking rule either. And I don't think you 'have' to move when you put yourself on the table change, which creates even more delays.

Although the lists look bad, with 40-60% of the names being call-ins I didn't see folks waiting too long to sit down and there wasn't the glut of players standing at the check-in desk like during the last big one.

The cage is 'interesting' ... There is a nice big sign indicating transactions of less than $2500 can be handled at any window and yet the players were all at one window. Both times I bought in I went to the open window just outside the room. This is the same way I crush the drive thru at fast food joints .. (And yes, I was lucky enough to only buy-in and cash out once per session. I did have add-ons in my pocket!)

Yes, as long as you've paid your BB you will get a table share .. not so sure how the SB fits in there but a lot of players who did leave the table paid their SB when they got back. I don't remember very many full houses the whole weekend but I did get a K-high straight flush at 2-5. The one FH I do remember was a 2-5 guy who shoved into me after I hit a flush on the Turn and he Rivered a FH, taking about $800 from me ... I got that and more back about 2 orbits later with my KK v JJ on a 9 high Flop all-in. There were 4 cases of quads but nothing better than a flush to go against them.

I'll be back ... GL

This is a Friday 'Game of the Day' and you can be put on the 'reserved list' if you call ahead at any time during the week. When I got there Friday (4:30?) there were 18 names on the list with a main game already running but I was the 9th to be seated at the must-move when they opened it. We were short handed most of the time after they moved 3 players fairly quickly to the main game. I was probably on the must-move for 3-4 hours though. I was about ready to go back down to 2-5 but I'm glad I got the call up to the main and ended up posting a pretty big win by 5AM when it broke.

I got conflicting BI data ... $5-800 min up to $2K max, but one guy brought $3k to the table and no one said anything. Most players had $1200-1500 to start. (Some Red, full stack or 2 of Green and 'some' Black)

I can see the ability to 'short stack' this game at $5-600. Most of the opens were $60-75 with the 3-bets at $140-180. Plenty of limping with 4-6 players going to the Flop as well. Opening raises behind limpers were adjusted accordingly. Out of about 20-25 players I saw in this game there was only 1 that I saw as a 'target' (and perhaps the man in the mirror!!). Certainly any pot that goes 3-ways to the Turn could put your opening stack at risk but there's A LOT of 'understanding' poker here, no one bets TPTK like they would at 1-2 or even 2-5. Everyone pretty much recognizes when the board gets messy and doesn't press their luck unless they actually have a hand/'correct' draw. GL

For what it's worth, I also played the must move table for the 5-10-20 game Friday night (I helped open the game when it started). The game starts at 6 PM Friday night. Not quite sure what time you got to MCC, but the game starts at 6. I think the must move started about 7:30. It's a $500-$3000 buy-in game that is time raked ($8 per half hour, though the must move started on one of the new tables out on the floor that doesn't have an auto-shuffler and myself and a couple regulars talked to the manager into lowering the rake to $6 due to the circumstances of having to play on that table).

As for average buy-ins, I'd say it's $1500-$2000 in general, with a couple people trying to play short-stack poker and some guys constantly topping off for the full $3000.

From my perspective, I don't want to cash out from the outside windows. I've seen plenty of random people standing around near those outer windows and if I'm cashing out $2000-2400 from a good 2-5 NLHE or PLO session, I really don't want the lurkers watching me pocket that much money (plus whatever else is in my pocket). I'll gladly wait in line inside where I have slightly more privacy (other than other poker players also cashing out).

That being said, I have no problem buying in at the outer cage windows.

And it's a BIG blind button. So if you bust on/play the big but miss the small you still get a share.

It's always worth getting more (correct) information. I got to MCC around 430 and sat at 2/5 fairly quick ... didn't seem like that many downs went by before the 5-10 must move started but I zone out as far as 'time' goes when playing. I think the Floor handled the rake reduction request like a champ and since we were sitting at 6-7 players most of the time I think it was well warranted on top of the hand shuffle table being used.

Interesting that they had a table in the main room to start the main game at 6 PM when so busy. Kudoz if they broke a game or were smart enough to hold that table until they could start the game!

I'll be back but probably not on a Friday night. I don't get much weekend poker opportunity and with school/dance starting up ... and I got roped into coaching soccer ... it will be MSPT @FK time before I know it. GL

Looks like there is charity action in Waterford and Shelby Township today. Ciccarelli's Sports Bar has a day and night game but there will be a break between charities.

There has been weekend chatter about 300 Bowl in Waterford so I assume those same players are at Shark Club today (Waterford)

Use the Millionaire Party Locator on the State of Michigan .gov website. I searched Oakland and Macomb counties. It's not the friendliest but it's very effective and up to date for charity poker.

Most charity rooms offer 1/2 cash and small BI tournaments. Have Fun. GL

I'm going to pretend we are good friends here .... Do you really expect, as a stranger, to get invited into a home game where you are going to play for only a few hours .. in the Auburn Hills area?

For all the time I've been in 'this' thread there is very little talk of home games. I'm sure they exist everywhere but I'm going to assume that the Auburn Hills games are 'more' private than other areas.

I hope someone sends you a PM, but it wont be posted here. GL

Ah I got your point. I've been on the forum for so many years and where i used to live in SC, home games were all we had. Anyway, I'll wait and see if someone contacts me
