Pretty nice chop for 8th place. What was the buy-in? Grats on the cash.

Well so far I missed my flight. So now we had to fly to Minnesota first. Bummer cuz I would have already been to LAX by now.

On the brightside, at least I'm getting paid for this lol.

Don't you have a deck? Start up a game in the terminal.

Nice win.
+1

Not a fan of calling oop with AJ in a limped/re-raised pot.

How did you miss your flight? You were at the airport, right? Beat: no casino at Minneapolis Airport either.

i meant i chopped it 9 ways. $55 buyin. somewhere around 90 runners. yeah i had like 2 bbs when they offered the chop. the two big stacks were like "yeah, $300 sounds good to me!" wtf.
got me thinking... i feel sort of bad because i will jump all over a chop when i'm short stacked and the blinds are huge... but when I have any kind of chips at a final table, I'm always turning down a chop (unless i think they players left are very talented.) i've taken grief a bunch of times from other players for not taking a chop. gotta do what i think will maximize my winnings, right?

If you want personal recommendations, no problemo; just shoot me a PM with dates/times and types of food you're looking for because I don't check this thread all that often. Also, some 2+2ers (mostly mods) have been getting together for drinks every now and then lately, so if you're around during one of those you should join us.

I was in the button position. And the person who reraised me to $35 was SB so I was last to act preflop (3 callers in front of me). Largest stack left was $120 or so after calling the $35. I assumed the most I can lose here is $120 so at this point 3:1 on my money it felt good. I made the called based on the thought that if I win the side pot I'm only out like $70 and I believe my odds to take that down were 8+3x4= 44%.

You're right, I kicked myself for the play all night, should've stayed out and let it go.

You originally stated you were the BB and looks like effective stacks are about 180 pre. That changes the way things went down. In game, without knowing anything more about the villains involved, I probably end up lvling myself into calling pre and pretty much end up doing what you did.

that's 7-1 pot+implied with AJs

sounds like a fun table

i mean seriously, if you think the raiser's light enough to make a call profitable a jam is gonna be more profitable. even if he's not even spewy he could be as light as tens or jacks, which he may fold, and even if tens-kings call you've got a fine chance at winning a big pot.

and what are the chances he's got aces, youve got a ****ing ace right there in your suited broadway hand. concord grape it in there.

Sorry I must have been unclear about position in the first post. I kick myself for it all night anyway, results oriented I guess!

Good Poker Series coming up at the Horseshoe Hammond next month. I was thinking of playing 3 events over the first weekend and thought it would be cool if a few of us Detroit area 2plus2ers took a RoadTrip to the ChicagoPokerClassic. They are giving away a 2012 Camero and 50k cash to the point leader. Any interest in this from anyone?

In case you missed it (and care), more profound Greektown silliness here: Kill that hand!

Upshot: Floors have been very earnestly telling me the rule requires them to kill any prematurely exposed hand, even though (1) that would be a stupid rule (2) they claim to recognize it's not a good rule (3) that is not, in fact, what the rule says.

I was at Greektown that Tuesday at the omaha table with you when you were discussing/debating that with the floor and I agree that the rule as it stands is ridiculous. I was also there this past Saturday where the same situation came up, the floor was called over, and of course they ruled that the hand wasn't dead. Not only are they horribly incompetent there, they're also terribly inconsistent. Not to mention that most dealers can't even get once around the table in their half hour shift.

I played at Aria last night with the man, the myth, the legend... Mr. Teddy "Iceman" Monroe. Pics to follow. Also, what is he really famous for? The way he talks you'd believe he owns Vegas but other than his ridiculous diamond headphones why has he even been shown on the WSOP broadcasts.

probably already seen this but figured i'd throw it in here for anyone looking to read the utter ridiculousness of this man...lol
Jamie, youre kinda famous now just for being at the same tbl as such greatness, did he have his hoverround?

Re: Teddy "IceMan" Monroe sightings?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Was playing with him 2/5 at the Bellagio last week. He barely plays a hand for an hour before finally getting it vs me with kings preflop. I obv has Aces. King hits first card out on the flop, Teddy gets up and says straight to my face "You fool! Dont you know nobody coolers the Iceman!". He then proceeds to give out Ice Age dvds to the whole table before escaping on his scooter. Was pretty tilting, i already have the first Ice Age on dvd. "

Favorite post in the thread after just running through a couple pages....

Is the game running again this Saturday? I was at Cadas yesterday and Joe asked if we still had the game running. BTW, The Friendly Bastard who used to play at Pampas said he would play again if they moved the game. I told him about Saturday. If I don't play Saturday I would like to take a 5% commission fee for drumming up action
