Oh. Yea. BBJ logic is one of those things that just bothers me about poker players. There's a whole discussion about it in the bankroll thread today (again) too.

Although, I like that large BBJ's attract casual donkeys and make them very loose passive.

Is it standard for dealers to state raise/bet amounts when they happen?

Most dealers are not saying anything here in LV.

Its pretty standard to announce raises and bet amounts.

I've seen it both ways. When I was playing the MSPT in Baraboo last year there was a big fuss about it where a player got mad at the dealer for announcing the amount.

I guess technically, the dealer is only obligated to announce "raise" and it's up to the player to either figure out the amount themselves or ask the dealer to confirm the amount. The player making a big deal about it basically said the way we bet our chips and what denominations etc. is for a reason and the dealer shouldn't offer more information than they're required to.

So I imagine you'll see dealers announcing sizing in lower stakes games since nobody cares and it'll keep the game moving faster.

I was in a spot where I was short stacked in the big blind... While in the 10 seat.

Keep in mind the dealer would never lien back at all when it was ever my time to act.

The 3 seat raise, and throw his bet directly in my direction... Which, by the way, the chips are layered towards me... From where I'm seated it appears that he threw out a 3x raise.

Again, I'm short, there are anti's in the pot, and the table folds to me and my suited connectors. I elect to call what I think is 2 bigs more. I announce call and complete the 3 bigs, and the dealer say I'm 5k short ?!?!?

I didn't complain, cause i knew I had no recourse, but that hand changed the rest of the mtt.
