in reality calling with ace high is really not gonna be a profitable play because against bad live players, their range isn't polarized to value and bluffs.

So when they are betting weak, they are actually betting hands that are better off check/calling like mid pair. bottom pair.

That being said, I don't think raising is a great play either, because they make weak bets with top pair and will call off, you just happen to run into the part of their range that would fold, but it's nothing to count on for long run ev.

also slight brag, made 121 dollars in greektown last night. To be honest, i have a bit of adjustments to make if i want to play 1/2 consistently like don't raise on the button against 2 limpers with k10o if both blinds will always call. And raise to 12 dollars with aa instead of 6 dollars when there's a dead small if the whole table will call. And there's no point to raise 67s vs limping from mp when the whole table will call.

Totally agree with your take about playing at Greektown. Ace high call was out of boredom ($20 river bet). I should know better, but still trying to overcome my boredom leak. I agree with you that I'm never raising in that spot against these types of villains.

I should play at Greektown more often. For some reason you get the same passive play as you do at charity rooms but with way more stationy calls. Just have to be patient, which I can't seem to master.

Based on Omaha8A2’s suggestion I decided to drive down to Hard Rock Tampa for some poker. I packed my bankroll, passport and Browning A-5 and hit the road Thursday.

The $1-2 is a $100 buy-in and the $1-3 a $300 buy-in. I requested a move from the $1-2 but like an idiot stayed for the circus. Never got any traction and lost the buy-in, but to give you an idea of the quality play this is one of the hands.

The luckbox in seat one had about $900 in front of him and bet $15 into a $30 pot. Seat 2 called, Seat 3 called, and Seat 4 called. Seat 1 could not beat the board and other three each had an A high to chop it three ways.

I frequent MCC 2-3 times per week. The play there is much better than greektown and MGM. only a moron would disagree. Anyways, I go to MGM today with some family and decide to mess around in the poker room. Ya.... I knew it was a bad idea. I run badly there, small sample, but nonetheless. The players there are noticeably more chatty and less skilled. surprise? no. I buy in for $100. It took me over 5 minutes after I sat down until I was dealt a hand cuz some guy with AA (after 3-betting pre vs. QQ) bets $100 on a 667A rainbow board. whhhhattt??!????? this hand took forrrrrrever to play out. QQ hollywooded post flop and post turn for minutes. like cmon dude, learn that folding QQ is something that you have to get comfortable with, and let's get on with the game. anyways, limped 5 or 6 pots and am down to 80 before raising 15 preflop with AKsc utg. 4 callers. flop is 2s 4h 8c (70 pot, 60 behind). i figure it's inevitable that all my chips get in so i shove before having to 3bet. called by 99 (same guy who scared away QQ). turn a club draw. miss river. goodbye me. hate MGM. MCC on monday.

I guess i disagree (hahaha.) but i am a idiot. I thought they played pretty bad everywhere. And folding QQ on a 667 A (is the Ace on the turn) board might not be so easy for some people. As annoying as it is you want those people who will stack off with Under pairs sitting at your table.

To behonest the only table that i sat down at when i played 1/2 where the players where really good was at Cadas at the 2+2 table. other then that the play seems to always be atrocious.
