Not that interesting from the stand point it looks like payback from the state.

How ever..a violation in one room...not matter how insignificant..
is punished in all rooms the supplier owns.

At one point she had 4 rooms at the same time...any violation would shut all 4 down...
hence the reason i have always said we ran NVD by the book.

If all the charity rooms close down, that might be good for me because i hate playing downtown. So it will probably limit my play from to daily to once a week.

But it's also bad because i hate playing one two downtown, and if I'm going to play 2-5, im going to have to play less

I'm sure it'll revive the home game landscape though.

Love playing 10 hands an hour because somebody is grabbing a beer or smoking.

You need to play in better run games. At the monthly game at my place, I muck hands if you are grabbing a beer or smoking and you are required to post to come back in. If you are incompetent/slow at dealing, somebody else deals when it is your button. We average about 25 hands/hour.

I really want to drop some coin on a nice custom table with an auto shuffler and dealer try but the wife thing keeps interfering.

I would love that. I miss fun, competitive, deeper stacked home games.

Edit: now that I think about it, I'd be open to hosting a thread home game or tournament...

Not in the home games I've played in, they've been more like this:

No shuffle machines at any of the ones I've been to, but reasonably nice tables, and a dedicated dealer or two with experience in charity rooms. Usually beer, soda and food too.

Even in the games I've played without a dedicated dealer, most times we'd sit the host and someone else competent in the center of the wide side and let them alternate deals (usually with someone else shuffling the second deck during the hand). Competent or not it's practically impossible to deal from the small end of a long table 10 handed.

I'd be very interested in a mixed game (HORSE?).

I haven't played in home games in a few years, but most were run pretty good. Dedicated dealers, usually a bucket or cup to drop chip tips in.

We should make this happen imo.

Just an FYI to anybody planning a home game. If you charge a rake of any type or host it at a place other than a "home," you are violating the Gaming Control Act.

This is not legal advice.

The key is in "having" people throw in. If it is mandatory, it could possibly be construed as a rake.

I generally supply the beer and booze, ask whose hungry, order a pizza and have the hungry people throw in on the pizza. While I supply the drinks, most will bring their own anyway.
