I am certain Cada's room will be a huge success if they bring new tournaments (bounty, shootout, HU) with great structure to our area.
I suggest trying something different...maybe a weekly Sunday $150 Bounty tournament. With single table satellites (10-man w/2winners) all weekend. Something different to attract customers.
I also suggest a monthly tournament with a larger buy in (maybe $300) with single table satellites running for that also.
Just as long as Cada's room offers new tournaments and great structures, they will lock down Detroit area Poker.
Guys, you still have to remember that this is a charity poker room and still must follow the Michigan Gaming rules for millionaire party rooms. Bounty tournaments have not been allowed from the beginning and were re-clarified over a year ago with a bunch of other rule changes that they are not allowed.
As much as you like your turbo tourneys, it will be up to the room if they want to run them because they take up dollars towards the $15,000 max chip limit and they do not bring in much profit.
A room can make money on 3 nice cash games running at least 6-8 hrs. The bigger the cash game, the quicker the chips go, and if the BIG game only runs 5 hrs. because the chips are gone, it only made 5 hrs. worth of rake. I have made more money for charity's running 4 tables of $100 max. than i ever did running the big game.
Want you want is a room run as professional as possible, with consistent rulings and a floor that controls the room, the dealers and the players.
just my 2 cents
